Affordable Ponds LLC

I have used Affordable Ponds for the last four-five years now. Every time I call for the annual maintenance, Jeff, who is always so courteous and helpful, schedules his brother Joe to maintain the pond. Jeff is always there to answer any questions I have about my pond and if we can't fix it over the phone, usually my error, he sends Joe out to fix whatever problem I am having. Joe is always prompt and gets to work. Joe has worked the maintenance on my pond ever since I first called Affordable Ponds and he courteous and generous with his knowledge about the workings of the pump, the filter system and the scimmer. Both Joe and Jeff have been so helpful to me in maintaining the beauty of my pond. Joe is considerate of my plants and takes care not to disturb the greenery around the pond. Joe arrived at 7:00 am and finished at 8:30 am, careful to place the rocks back in the pond and helped me with a light that went out and gave me a tip to control algae; a clorine tablet that people would us in their spa, works great! I would recommend Affordable Ponds to people who are looking for dependable, reliable and honest people working around their home.

They came on time. They came quickly. It went really well. They came within a couple of days and he did a good job.

This is the second time I have used this service provider. Jeff who is the business owner was very responsive when I called for an appointment. He is a very nice person with a genuine commitment to customer service. There is no question in my mind that he cares about his customers and wants to ensure they get real value for their dollar. The technician he sent was a conscientious young man with a very professional and "positive cab-do" attitude. He worked very hard for hours pressure washing and cleaning each and every rock. When the tech left, I could not have been happier with how my pond looked and the way the pump performed. Jeff has earned my long term loyalty. I have been a member of this site for years and this is the first time I felt compelled to write a review. I would strongly endorse this business.

Jeff and his crew were fantastic. From the first time I met Jeff I knew this job was going to be first class quality from top to bottom and he didn't disappoint me. The new waterfall design was awesome and looked natural and beautiful, which was tough to pull off based on what he was working with in regards to my old waterfall. In addition, i called Jeff to come clean our pond from all the leaves collected in the waterfall and holding pond on Monday 12/7/2015 and two days later on 12/8/2015 his crewed promptly showed up at 8am and in an hour and half the pond looks awesome. If your looking to build or reconstruct a waterfall/pond, then do yourself a favor and hire Jeff and Affordable Ponds. They are FANTASTIC!!!

All work was done effectively. Both water features worked perfectly after the service. Jeff definitely takes care of his customers by responding promptly to service requests, sending friendly and competent technicians, and "going the extra mile" to assure that my two water features work properly. Jeff works in the field with his crew and is justifiably confident in each one's ability and effectiveness. The day after my service a storm came through resulting in a downed tree and both water feature pumps going out. I was able to get the stream pump going but could not re-start the pond pump. Jeff scheduled someone to come out the next day and charged only $50--less than 1/3rd of the cost of a service call. I am really thankful to know that Jeff and his Affordable Pond crew are there when I need them. Thanks for the years of reliable service you have provided me.

The pond was drained and cleaned. After cleaning it was refilled. There was a problem with the auto-fill head that couldn't be fixed so John purchased another head and got it working. He did not charge me for the new piece, travel and labor. I had to have John come back out because I wasn't happy with the water level and the skimmer speed. He adjusted the auto-fill and showed me how to control the water flow for the skimmer. John advised me about a product for the algae and where I could purchase it.

Although the add indicated he did pond repairs.He told me he did not do pond leaks at this time of year. He did refer me to someone else who turned out to no longer be in business.

Jeff responded to my inquiry for a quote the same day. He scheduled a visit the following week. Very friendly, professional demeanor. He seems to have a passion for what he does. I directed him to where I wanted the pond, he immediately had a vision for what would happen. He provided feedback with respect to what would look best, and not surprisingly, he was correct. He provided me with brochures to mull over. I was at first reticent to add an additional cost to the installation for the lights, but as Jeff put it, the lights really make the installation pop. We decided to move forward, and Jeff had an opening the following week. Over the course of the week I reached out to Jeff with follow-up questions. He was happy to answer them, and I ended purchasing a variety of plants for installation along with the pond and waterfall, which Jeff and his crew would install. Come installation day we had a full crew and a ton of trucks that arrived promptly at 7am as scheduled. There was no delay - the team got straight to work. Each member of the crew had a specific job and performed it admirably. I've had contractors and crews in the past that took turns 'working' while the others sat around on our patio or took their down time to swing on my children's swing. Not these guys - they were all business the entire time. Even more impressive was how Jeff worked with his team. He was perfectly polite, treated his crew like family. I think that's a pretty good indication that he had a strong relationship with his crew and they all worked well together. Jeff and crew worked throughout the day in blazing 90+ degree weather. And by the end of the day (1 day!) the project was complete - including wiring from the house to the pond, a fairly large pond that blended seamlessly into the landscape, a beautiful three-tier waterfall, and plants installed in an aesthetically pleasing way. Also of note was that Jeff actually made the pond larger than we had discussed - a big plus - and had also gone out of his way to go to a nursery to pick out a few more plants, gratis. He also found a larger pump, included free of charge. Overall this was a great experience. I will definitely hire them to come back for pond cleaning, and any other related services in the future.

These people are the best. I originally called them because my pump quit working and told them I need a new one. Joe came out to install a new pump but when we turned it on he could faintly hear it. He told me I didn't need a new pump, the pond needed a good cleaning and the gunk was bogging down the pump. Really??? They could have easily installed a new pump for over twice as much as a cleaning. At that point I didn't care what they charged, can't put a price on honesty. I scheduled the cleaning, Joe just left and my pond has never looked so good. I didn't know people came and cleaned your pond. I will have them every spring from now on and my days of mucking around in pond scum are over. He did in a couple hours what takes me hours to do and believe me, when I'm done it doesn't look a fraction as good. I am thinking of having them enlarge the pond but I'm sure I'll come to my senses soon.

I have a three stone fountain that needed to be cleaned. Leveled and water height adjusted coming out of the rocks. It hadn't worked properly since the first year it was installed. I must have tried adjusting the valves 20 times to get a consistent height from each of the rock stones to no avail. It drove me crazy. A couple weeks ago I started noticing this horrible smell in my closet that smelled like a dead animal had been brought in by one of our cats. I tore it apart and couldn't find anything. The smell kept getting worse but I just couldn't pinpoint it. I even went up in to our attic but knew immediately it wasn't there. Finally I opened the do stairs slider and noticed the smell and realized it was the fountain! Horrible! I headed to Angie's List immediately after turning off the fountain. I found great reviews for Affirdable Ponds, LLC. I called and left a message with the answering service I think and the owner called me back the next day. He explained the cleaning process, asked me some questions, explained they had a minimum $395 price and that it would be about two weeks. I decided to schedule even though price seemed high for such a small water feature. The day of service came and I received a call that they were running early. Nice! I was so excited to come home that night to see (and hear) my fountain working properly. I almost didn't believe it when I saw it. The water pressure to each of the rocks was the same!! Nice and strong! And rocks had been leveled, it no longer smelled, and it looked awesome. I couldn't be happier. In fact I have my bedroom window open right now listening to it. Thank you so much!! You guys are terrific! I only wish I had been here to re the masters at work!}

Great. Really happy with it. Price was below what was quoted and the quality of work was outstanding.

Jeff and his crew were wonderful. Jeff met with us on site and provide a plan for the fountains into the pond. He also provided costs and ideas for lighting our yard and planting around the pond. He was 2 weeks out to start the project which was perfectly reasonable for us and showed up on time and completed it in 2 days as promised. We opted for the pond, lighting our yard with lights under our trees and plants around the pond. They were wonderful to work with and did exactly what they said they were going to do. I would definitely recommend Jeff and his crew to anyone looking for a water feature and/or lighting or other landscape ideas

Excellent, very happy with result. John arrived while it was raining substantially, was on time, completed project in the projected time. The whole pond/creek feature looks as good as new and it's about 15 years old.

Jeff and John arrived on time with all the materials required to do the work. They were both efficient and professional as they worked together to get the job completed. I was totally satisfied by their quick response and the quality of their work. When I first realized a problem with the pond, Jeff came out right away to assess the situation and recommend a plan of action. I really appreciate the promptness and reliability of communication, scheduling and workmanship. I have been relying on Affordable Ponds for at least four years and am completely satisfied with them and would recommend them without reservation!

The pond was running really slow because there was so much slug in the bottom from a patio we had built. The company that built the patio never bothered to cover the pond. They drained it and cleaned it better than I had been able to.

We have been having Jeff clean our pond for several years now. We used other companies before finding Jeff and we will always stick w/ Jeff now. He is better, faster, and cheaper than the competition. Jeff and his crew followed all of my unique instructions like counting my fish as they removed them (needed to know how many are in there since they've been breeding) and helping me select 5 fish to remove and transport to my neighbor's pond (since we are overpopulated). Did a wonderful job, as always, but wanted to leave a nice review b/c I was really impressed at how they did the fish transport so well and at no extra cost. Also, the pond looks better this year than ever and wanted to post an "after" pic. Unfortunately, I don't have a "before" pic, but know that the water was very unclear and you could only see about 6 inches down or so. Now you can see all the way to the bottom. Hire these guys!

Jeff is extremely customer service oriented, and very energetic. At the first meeting, we discussed the different possibilities, and he took good notes, and came up with a plan once he knew our next steps (we removed the old deck that was next to the pond, and are in the process of replacing it with additional garden areas instead). Jeff and his team did an outstanding job. I could tell that Jeff had design ideas of how he thought it should and would look, and I gave him total artistic freedom to make it all happen. I am really glad I did! The end result is gorgeous, picturesque, and has a very natural look and feel. The new water flow design also has an extremely wide viewing angle, and can be seen from what will be the new garden area, the kitchen, the nook, and the family room. The old layout had a very limited viewing angle, so the change in viewability is huge. One thing that speaks really highly of Jeff and his level of quality and integrity is the fact that he actually placed the rocks in the waterfall area TWICE. He was actually done with the whole layout and could have called it good, but something wasn't quite to his liking, so he actually took things apart, removed rocks, and made a new arrangement. When the end result was one he liked, THEN he called it complete. This shows me that Jeff has the internal drive to do an excellent job and create works of art, not just rush to get the job done. It was around 35 degrees outside, but nonetheless, Jeff's team worked really hard and diligently, while also maintaining a very professional, courteous, and friendly attitude. I highly recommend them!

Jeff came out gave me a bid did more than the bid called for and didn't charge me for it. Was professional and awesome!

I called Affordable Ponds (love these guys) and Jeff called me back within 30 minutes. I told him what happened, a series of misfortunes and of course my lack of understanding what I needed to do to keep the pump and pond looking great. Jeff was courteous and sent Dave out and since I have been a past Angie list customer (for last 3 years with Affordable) he charged me accordingly. Because the problem with the pump had nothing to do with any of their servicing, it was my lack of mechanical ability to fix the immediate situation. But I called and they came and that's the important thing! Jeff made sure that Dave knew what the problem was and he was on time and courteous and instructed me in the simple "what to do" measures, this time I wrote them down! I recommend Affordable Ponds to anyone who has a pond and has issues with anything pond related. They are the best! Thank you for listing them in Angie's List Portland!

We had another great experience with Affordable Ponds. We needed our pond cleaned that Jeff and his crew built last year. Jeff sent staff member Mike. Mike arrived 5 minutes early and cleaned the pond including the pump. I explained to Mike how the winter storms moved around some of the smaller rocks and the pond just didn't look like it originally did. Mike VERY CREATIVELY arranged the rocks so the flow is more natural. We actually have a louder "waterfall' sound now. Our waterfeature is like it originally was or maybe even better! We can't speak too highly of Jeff and the staff of Affordable Ponds. We highly recommend..

They were very prompt and courteous. When I received my invoice I noticed that the pump was about 100 more dollars than quoted. When I called back to let him know that I would have appreciated a call to okay the difference, he took a 100 dollars off my bill. That is good customer service! Later I found out there was a leak in the waterfall. They were able to locate it and repair it. We had just bought this house and the former owners did not have the waterfall running (most likely due to the leak). I was very impressed that they found it so quickly.

We had a fabulous experience with Affordable Ponds and would highly recommend them to anyone considering a water feature for their yard. Jeff worked with our design, suggesting slight changes that would work better for our space. They arrived promptly and completed the job in less time than they'd estimated. From start to finish, the process was professional, efficient, and pleasant. We love our pond and waterfall!

The crew of three showed up at 7 am and finished excavating the pond and building the waterfall mound including retaining wall the first day. The second day a larger crew laid the pond liner, built the waterfall, set the pump and filter, filled the pond, planted the waterfall area and spread mulch. Finally they planted the pond plants and put the fish back into the pond. A complete pond and waterfall in 2 days! All the time the group was hardworking, fun and courteous. The results were fantastic!

Jeff is absolutely about customer service.He wants' to make sure you are happy and comfortable every step of the way. I had him out to look at my project and was so impressed that I hired him right then without getting any other bids. His price was great given our feature is quite big. His crew arrived at 6 am and worked really h****** a 100 degree day and were done by about 3 pm...AMAZING! We couldn't believe they could get a project of this scope done in one day. Jeff designed and mapped out what he thought would look good implementing all of the things on our wish list. He also installed plants and lights too. Can't say enough good things about our experience with Affordable Ponds.

These guys are great. I spoke with Jeff (owner) on the phone to schedule the estimate. They were able to come out within a few days at a time that was convenient for me. Joe did the estimate. He was on time and very professional and friendly. We scheduled a time for the service within a week. John came out to do the service. Again, he was on time and professional. He reiterated what I wanted done and got to work. The entire service took about 2 hours. The total cost was $280 including a 5% off Angie's List coupon. I thought it was going to be more with the leak repair, but was pleasantly surprised by the price. These guys really deliver a high level of professional service and extras. John needed to use the hose spiget. He used his own hose, but nicely replaced my hose when he was finished. I know this seems like a no-brainer, but a lot of service professionals don't leave your house in the same condition they found it. Joe advised me on how to best keep the pond clean, including a chlorine tablet recommendation. John showed us where the leaf trap was and how to clean it. Maybe this is all basic stuff, but I'm not the best at home maintenance, so every bit of advice is appreciated. These guys are great. I will use them again and highly recommend them.
