Scheduling was a real problem. Bought coupon for service through Angies's List. Began trying to reach company in mid-June; repeated telephone calls leaving number for call back. Finally on July 10 someone answered the telephone, asked if she could call me backs in ten minutes. Never called back. Later I when I called she answered the telephone, scheduled a date for service the next day. Service was good. Workman arrived on time, was pleasant, professional. Not really possible for me to evaluate quality of this service, but seemed fine.

Patrick, the technician, called to see if he could come early as he was ahead of schedule. The task was completed promptly without need to enter the house and he reported excellent airflow after a large quantity of lint was removed. We last had this done 3 years ago. He was pleasant and professional. The only minus was that it took 2+ days to reach Aegis to schedule the service after leaving a couple of messages on their message recorder. Had I not had the Angie's special prepaid, I might have called another service. But after reaching them, everything was fine.

They were early! I had out of town guests coming that day, so that worked out perfect! My husband was home and was very happy with their work. I would most definitely use them again!

Background: I picked the wrong type duct cleaing service. Subsequently I have learned tthere are two main types of duct cleaning services... and I have found they are not equal in their cleaning ability. The first type uses a truck mounted large industrial-sized vacuum that is attached to the heating system with large flexible fabric 'hoses" and sucks large volumes of air through the ducts simultaneously as a pneumatic "beater / flailing wand" is manually threaded by the operator though the ducts to loosen dust and debris contained within the ducts. The wand is flexible and snakes around bends and right angle corners in the ducts. The loosened dirt is then rapidly drawn out of the duct and into the vacuum bag filters in the truck. All the vacuum machinery remains outdoors in the street or your driveway. I've heard this referred to as a "negative pressure" type duct cleaning system. This system requires somewhat more time to set up and a sizeable investment in equipment. This is the type cleaning system I assumed would be used... but wasn't. It was my fault that I was not aware that other types of duct cleaning systems existed... and therefore did not verify what type system that would be used on my job. It turns out the second type duct cleaning system is one that uses a rotating brush mounted on the end of long hose attached to a man-portable vacuum cart that is wheeled into and through your home (about the size of a patio barbeque). The grills on your home's heating outlets and return air inlets are removed and the hose with rotating brush on the end is inserted into each outlet and inlet by the operator. The hose is then pushed as far down each duct as the hose length will allow (usually 30' to 35' for the 40' hoses commonly used). The hose typically does not go around right angle bends. The vacuum hose then sucks up dust and debris loosened by the rotating brush... but only for duct lengths not exceeding the hose access length. I've heard this referred to as a "roto-brush" type duct cleaning system. This system requires much less time to set up...a much much smaller investment in equipment and can easily be transported in the back of a family SUV. This is the type of duct cleaning system that was used on my job... but I wasn't expecting. Again, this was my problem that I did not verify the type of system to be used. Aegis used a roto-brush system which didn't have a vacuum hose length adequate to access the full length of my home's ducts as it turns out. I was not told of this situation... and the operators themselves may not have been aware of it... although they should have been. I believe they said their hose was 40' long. Unknown to me... but discovered a week or so later... large lengths (at least 6' to 8') of my ducts were not cleaned at all due to inadeqate hose length and/or inability to negotiate around duct bends. Also I found that remaining dust and debris was still visable through the open outlet & inlet ducts immediately upon "completion" of the cleaning job. I called this to the attention of the operator (while he was still on site)... who then re-cleaned these duct spaces. This made me wonder what else hadn't been cleaned adequately. I later found out. Although the two operators turning up to do the job were polite and accommodating... they did not impress me as being very professional. Hip-hop shorts, raggedy T-shirts and flip-flops did not strike me as appropriate dress for a professional service coming into a person's home. They arrived in an unmarked personal SUV with out-of-state plates (Calif. I think) with the roto-brush machine loaded in the back. After being on the job site for a few minutes...one of the two operators said he had a headache and needed to go to a drug store to get some aspirin. He didn't return until the job was nearly completed by the second operator in a little over an hour or so. Their job price was about half of what I have paid in the past for professional duct cleaning by a contractor using a negative pressure duct cleaning system. I mistakenly assumed I would be getting the same type service... but at half the price. My error. In the future I will only engage contractors using the negative pressure type system and specializing in duct cleaning. To me it's worth the added price given the better results I've experience with negative pressure vacuum systems. For those homeowners having duct work compatible with a roto-brush cleaning system (shorter staight duct runs, no sharp duct bends, visibility allowing verification the cleaning has been done adequately, etc.)... I would check out several contractors before selecting one... to find one that is conscientious, professional and effective. I did not follow-up with the contractor to complain or request a re-cleaning. I figured it would not be worth the effort given the nature of their roto-brush system and the hose lengths of their vacuum. I simply manually vacuumed out the uncleaned sections of duct work myself as best I could... when I later had the furnace taken apart for unrelated repairs. But, all things considered... I personally will not use Aegis again.

They did a good job! There were no additional charges beyond the big deal amount.

I bought a deal for $99 airduct and furnace cleaning. Didn't read the fine print, it only covered a certain number of airducts, so I had to pay an extra $100 for the 4 extra airducts that the deal didn't cover

Two young men showed up in a vehicle that wasnt labeled with a business name. they brought out a large vacuum. they went into 4 or 5 air ducts. They were only here for 20 minutes. they said they cleaned the cold air return. I recently had to have the cold air return moved into the attic. When I did that, 5 tennis balls, other toys, tons of dust and other materials came out. I could tell that it was never cleaned at all. I was completely dissatisfied with the work done. I wouldnt have known about this if I wouldnt have changed the air ducts.

Fine, came when then said they would. Took less time than we planned on

Setup appt and kept me informed. Friendly and professional staff --did thorough job.

Reaching the company on the phone to make my appointment for the Big Deal I had purchased was frustrating. They never answered the phone during the 2 weeks it took to connect with them. The message says they are either on another line or with a customer and after a week of calling it just compounds the frustration to listen to a bogus message. One the appointment was made everything went smoothly. Patrick, the young man who showed up, on time, was professional and personable.

I've been using Aegis Cleaning Services for almost a year. They do really good. In the summer, they do the windows. They're really friendly. The same guy does it every time. He works really hard. When he started, there were two of them, but now, it's just him. I don't know what happened. I'm satisfied with his services.

We used Aegis Cleaning Services twice. They did a fine job. I would certainly say yes, I'll recommend them. They came 3 weeks or so but that was because of me more than them, I was not in town or something. They came out and contacted me right away. The price was okay. The special was one thing but their regular pricing is another. They were real good about their punctuality and very professional.

I tried to contact Aegis Cleaning four times over several days to schedule an appointment. None of my calls were returned. I gave up and called Angie's List for a refund.

They did a good job. They were very professional and right on time.

The reason we gave it a B rating, is because we had tried to get this service done for about 2-3 months before the service was actually performed. Between scheduling conflicts and a last minute cancellation due to a technician illness, it was difficult on both sides. Once they were here it was wonderful! The technician was very professional, super nice, was prompt, and did a very good job.

Company confirmed appointment, then reminded us. Punctual, professional, and .chatted about other services needed in future. Did a good job cleaning windows.

Tammy and Shannon did a fantastic job from the first day. There was no question after they left that we would hire them to clean our house on a regular basis. Since then, they have not disappointed. They are very punctual, always friendly, and work very efficiently. They are also GREAT with our two dogs, and don't mind at all if the dogs tag along while they work. FANTASTIC!

They said that they couldnt do it on the 29 of may becasue their equipmment was broken. I didnt hear from them in two weeks so i sent an email and did not get a response. Then, a week after the email i started to call and leave messages and to this day they havent gotten back to me.

I have been working in the house since February, drywall dust, tile dust, cement board dust. This was the second cleaning since October. They did a very conscientious job... even folding the toilet paper into points! I have invited them back, just before my sister arrives. That's a BIG vote of confidence for Aegis.

It was not a good experience. She spent an enormous amount of time and didn't accomplish anything. It was a big house and I told them what I wanted and she was more interested in telling me that she works alone and she was real busy. It took me forever to get her out here and it was just not good. I have had lots of house keepers over the years and it just didn't work out well. I was expecting a regular service and she was more interested in telling me that she had her own clientele and that was pretty much running short of it.

Aegis Cleaning Service did a good job. I purchased a Big Deal but paid extra to have them do something that wasn't on the original plan. They were very accommodating and they kind of went the extra mile because they pulled out my dryer and they cleaned the vent. It's such a tight squeeze there; they had to take all the hardware off my cabinet drawers to get the dryer out. Aegis Cleaning Service was very good. They were thorough and they showed me a bird's nest they pulled out of one of the airs ducts underneath the house because we did an extensive remodel and it was open for a while. They did a good job. They were fast, clean and conscientious of the environment of my house. That's the first time I had my air ducts clean so I don't know about the pricing of it.

Scheduling was quick and easy. The technician arrived promptly for our appointment. He was polite and personable. He worked quietly and rapidly. I was amazed at the amount of lint built up in the dryer vent considering that I clean the lint screen almost compulsively after every load of laundry. I will definitely use Aegis again and recommend them to anyone needing dryer vent cleaning service.

The first time they did the service, it didn't fix the problem. The dryer vent was clogged. He came back again and spent about an hour and a half here. He really worked with us and was able to get the clog out. The dryer works really well now. There were no additional charges for the second time he came out. We would have to usually call about 2 or 3 times to get a response from them. I think they may be a smaller operation and don't have someone manning the phone all the time. That was the only thing that was a little lower. We are very pleased with their service, especially since they came out again and didn't charge us.

The experience with Aegis Cleaning Services turned out fine. We had to reschedule a couple of times because of some weather problems, but we finally were able to get it done and they did a good job. I was very happy with it.

I did pay them an additional $200 more for additional services that they provided me. It’s probably more than what I expected. I would probably not recommend them on more cost effective option.
