I called Kevin and advised him of the problem, the installer had told me I might need a new circut installed, and I was dubious because I live in a rental. Kevin advised me to speak with the Apartment Building Office and obtain their approval and also find out if they had any requirements prior to the work being performed. I discussed it with them and they asked for copies of the Business License as well as the Certificate of insurance. The manager also asked me who had suggested a new circut, an electrician or the installer. I am very glad he brought that up because I am not a DIY and my knowledge of home repairs is minimal. I let Kevin know what was needed and we made an appointment for after the Holiday. On the day of the appointment I received the copies my apartment management required prior to Kevin's arrival. When he arrived he reviewed the requirements for the wiring and was able to use a circut that was on one of the walls of the kitchen. He had to undo some work that had been done to the exposed wires and encase them in a metal box so that they were safe. He then cut a hole in the bottom of the cabinet to run the plug up to the new outlet that he installed in the back wall. Now the best part, he asked if I would like him to install the Micro/Hood! This huge box had been sitting in my living room for three weeks, and I was just delighted that he would be willing to do that. The installation went flawlessly, Kevin reviewed all the instructions used the template and hung it. He then doubled checked the work and found that one of the parts that the unit slides onto was not seated correctly. He corrected that and rechecked the door functioning, all was perfect. He picked up all trash and cleaned the top of the range which had debris from the drilling, etc. I couldn't be more satisfied, I felt that the amount charged was very reasonable for the work that was required. It wasn't that much more than the original installer was going to charge. I also feel that the project was done in the correct manner and is a safe installation. That is very important when one lives in a multiple apartment building and can affect others when making changes.
