I called for a bid expecting it to be around $200 based on my past experience, reviews in Angie's List of other work they've done, and the fact I live less than a mile away. Their quote was $740. Seems outrageous to me.
Description of Work: One cut 36" long, 7" deep. Remove 20"x36" x7" remainder.

They were accurate and precise! We are putting an apartment in our basement and needed to add an egress window and decided to add one other window for better light in the kitchen of the basement. I would recommend these guys!! They are speedy also!

Unfortunately, the original price I was quoted wasn't able to be used as access to my yard was limited so they were able to make an adjustment and send out the right tools and number of guys to do the job. It was a bit more than I wanted to spend, but the speed and professionalism that were displayed was well worth the price.
Description of Work: We had four yards of concrete to remove and were having no luck with posting on craigslist or finding anyone to do the removal. I called them and they were at my house within an hour.

Response from ACCURATE CONCRETE CUTTING
Looking at your post, looks like we gave you a bid and did not do the work. I have tried to find the quote, but was not able to. Could you tell me who you spoke to and some other information to help me track this down. This is not how we run our company. Also for your information, there is another Accurate Concrete in the portland area. Just want to be sure that we were not confused with them, it has happened before. I would appreciate a call 360-694-8564 Mary

Overall, the experience was good. There was some confusion as to when the cutting and pouring was going to happen because I was not aware they subcontract the pouring of concrete so it was a different crew. We ran into an unforeseen problem when they were cutting the footings in the basement and they stopped work until the issue was resolved. I am still not sure why the work was stopped because the second person they sent out to complete the job continued in the same manner as the first crew. Also, they sent only one person back to complete the cutting. He was unable to remove the large chunks of concrete out of the basement the same day. They sent additional man power the next day.
Description of Work: We hired Accurate to cut out a stem wall (16' x 4 ") in our basement as well as cut out the current slab for three new footings (2 at 3'x3'x10" and one at 30"x30"x10") in our basement. They also returned to pour back the concrete into the three footings and an area that was cut out by our plumber for underground plumbing work. The job took four visits from them to complete the job and involved carrying the debris and wet concrete up our steep driveway and down into our basement.

Jim from Accurate did the cutting. Jim showed up right on time with the correct equipment. He used a hydraulic saw, driven from a power unit behind his truck via supply and return hydraulic hoses. He also ran a water line from a hose bib on my house to the saw. We discussed a couple of options on the job before he started. Jim made the long cuts and also several cross cuts to make it easier for me to get the waste concrete out. Jim used a different tool for a couple of the cuts because they were in a corner and the big saw could not access. He used a hydraulic chain saw to finish the cuts. Excellent work. The job was done right and the bid was correct. I was very satisfied with this service and highly recommend them.
Description of Work: I needed the slab in my daylight basement cut to accommodate a 3" diameter ABS drain line for a new bathroom. I laid out and marked the cuts based on the plumbing that needed to be installed. The cut job was a 25' long trench, 12 to 18 inches wide. The slab is 4-5 inches thick. There was also a secondary trench, 12 feet long by 12 inches wide that meets the main trench at a 45 degree angle. It is for the drain from the laundry. Vern Jr. estimated the job over the phone based on my description. I opted to do the removal myself and have Accurate just do the cuts. Accurate would have done the removal for an additional cost.

My phone query was answered quickly and an appointment was scheduled for the next day. Two workers arrived punctually, worked efficiently and cleaned up thoroughly. I especially appreciated that they were careful not to damage an overhanging Japanese maple.
Description of Work: Sawed off, broke up, and removed approximately 40 sq. ft. of concrete patio slab.

They provided great service. They were on time, courteous, and they cleaned up the area when they were finished. They cut exactly as we requested. After reading their good report here, I checked their records with BBB and the Contractor's Boards in both Oregon and Washington. They had clean records in all cases. I did not call for quotes from the other company I considered, because while they also had a clean record, they were not listed here. We considered Accurate's service a good value to us, however, we rated price as a B because we didn't have another quote for comparison.
Description of Work: We had them cut out a 6'x6' section of our concrete patio, cut an edge of the patio to an angle and cut 2' off the end of a sidewalk. While cutting the sidewalk, they sliced through the downspout drain. This was unavoidable because when the concrete was poured, it was poured around the drain, not over it. The concrete could not have been removed without damaging the drain. We can easily and quickly repair the cut (they did not have the glue necessary for this repair but we do) and it is not a critical issue.

I called several other contractors before settling on Accurate. They were the most helpful and direct on the phone. They quoted one of the best prices and kept to their quote. Due to some miscommunication on my part, the cut out opening ended up a little smaller than needed. They charged me a relatively small fee $60 to come back and do a little more cutting to fix the problem. The additional service charge was very fair considering the mistake was not 100% their fault.
