 + -1 moreCalled Computer Guy and he had free time the same day! Arrived right on time, discussed our various symptoms and problems and got right to work on fixing everything. Took less than the hour we had purchased from Angie. While he was working, we talked about our laptops and decided that I wanted him to "clean" them as well. This took a little more than an hour but he didn't charge for the extra time and really made a Big Difference in performance. We will have him back when (not If) we have computer or any related equipment problems in the future. Thumbs up for Computer Guy!!!
Description of Work: Have been having trouble with wireless connections between our various PCs and the printer for some time and just haven't gotten around to fixing.

 + -1 moreThe problem was not resolved, as the hour was up. The tech did not know what to try next. He told me, that after he was gone, I should uninstall and reinstall the entire Microsoft pro suite. I did that and it didn't help at all. He wrote me an email a week later after he'd researched the problems that he couldn't get fixed. He wanted to let me know that he hadn't forgotten about me, and he requested an update on the issue. In my reply I sent him a URL for the fixes that I'd found online, and I have not heard anything back. He was on time, nice, courteous, and stayed the whole hour. He worked hard the whole time he was here.
Description of Work: This was the Big Deal for $49 for 1 Hour of PC or Mac Tune-Up, Repair and More!

 + -1 moreWent very poorly. He was unable to remove Java. He did however managed to remove NOT AT OUR REQEST the following . the Control Sound System, We can not set the Restore System to earlier date. He removed Administrator , Very difficult to get into computer. My wife went on line searching for How To Remove Java. Found Microsoft site, MICROSOFT FIX IT, she followed their instructions, removed Java with no problem. Also fixed the other problems he created. I guess from now on we will do our own searching. Save paying someone for service not completed
Description of Work: We requested him to Remove Java from the computer..He spent an hour going thru his procedure. When he finished said our computer was corrupted and could not remove Java.

Description of Work: I bought the big deal for 1 hr of computer service for $49.00. IE had stopped working on my desktop & was sluggish on my laptop. I wanted to get it working again. He got it working and also installed a better anti spyware than the one I had. Also tuned up both computers.

 + -1 morePleasant enough while the person was here working. However, the bottom line was that the computer was left with a major problem that he did not find or fix.
Description of Work: Computer Guy arrived on time and was very good about explaining what he was doing. However, he was here working on the computer for about 3 hours. (I had a coupon for his services, but he was about an hour over that time.) After he cleaned up the computer and installed a different security system, he left and I used the computer, only to find it little changed from before he worked on it. After a few weeks, I called him to tell him that the computer was still not opening programs correctly. I had to leave a message, and his return call was also in the form of a message. In that message, he suggested that I contact my internet service provider. I did not call him back. A few weeks later, I called a computer repair service. They worked on the computer for over three hours before discovering the glitch. They removed it (a virus) and the computer has been working very well since then.

 + -1 moreI called to set up an appointment, he arrived on time, performed the maintenance services I was seeking, we discussed options for upgrading my current system, and then he left. I was happy to pay for an extra hour of services, as I had a lot of questions that Scott was willing to answer for me.
Description of Work: Scott came to my house and I explained my computer problems. He asked how I most use my computer and what my goals for using my computer are. I explained the maintenance software on my computer and asked for his advice on alternatives. He was able to get my sluggish computer to run a lot quicker; helped me download free spyware; and discussed options for upgrading my current laptop. He was very professional, did not come in with his own agenda, and listened to what I wanted him to accomplish on my system. I was very happy with his services. I will use him again.

 + -1 moreFrom the moment I contacted Scott, he was friendly and demonstrated confidence in his abilities to help me out with my issue as I explained it to him. I bought a wireless router to use as a range extender and could not figure out how to do that. Scott patiently listened, cautioned me on a couple things, made the appointment, came out ... and an hour later had fixed my problem! Actually, he even stayed a bit longer in order to resolve my problem to explain "what was going on" to me. To top it off, it was explained in layman's terms so even I could understand it! I had numerous questions about the TV, DVD player, and thumb drive he was able assist me on all of them.  + -1 moreScott seems like a old friend now. He has fixed problems remotely in between the two service calls.
Description of Work: I needed to call Scott again to fix something that wasn't going right. I signed up for his monthy computer cleanup and updates for $220. He then gave me a discount on solving the problem I called him for. His monthly service is a great deal for someone who just wants to use the computer and not bother with understanding it. He warned me that the printer problems were due to print head failure. I tried to fix the problem by following the HP dianostics help. Didn't work. I had to buy a new printer. I called Scott back to install the printer and make sure it worked wireless with all three computers. Cost $80. Everything is working like a dream now.

 + -1 moreHe responded well, was punctual, and professional. He did an okay job and he seemed friendly. He installed a new anti-virus software because he said he didn't like mine. There are now popups asking me to upgrade the anti-virus software and I"m not sure if I need to upgrade especially when I already had my Norton paid for that he uninstalled. He thought that would keep my computer from crashing, but it has still crashed. The total cost was a lot more than I expected. Everything was mostly fine, and I am happy with the services.

Description of Work: Two of my 3 computers were having problems with viruses and/or accessing the printer. Scott Edwards arrived at my home when he said he would. He removed the viruses and got the main computer working smoothly. He came the second day and set up a network so I could print from any of the 3 computers to either of the 2 printers. He also taught me how to do some things that I didn't have a clue how to do. He offers a monthly computer mainenance program which I signed up for. He will be offering computer classes so I can learn about security issues, maintenance, etc.. This is a great service for someone like me who suddenly has to learn all these things.

 + -1 moreI have been using him for about 2 or 3 years. He comes out to my home and works on the computer and he has just been wonderful. He is very knowledgeable and reliable. He is also very honest. He does a really great job. I have referred a lot of friends to him, and they have all been very happy as well.
Description of Work: I was locked out of my computer and he came out and fixed everything, and downloaded several programs. I have him come every few months to clean up my computer when it seems to be running slow.

The problem was that I had the cable plugged into the wrong outlet on the printer. He couldn't have seen that during the remote session. In addition, he fixed some problems I was having with sound.
Description of Work: I was having trouble with my printer connections. I had gone through all of the manufacturer's troubleshooting procedures, but couldn't find the error. I called this company and immediately got connected to a service technician. He first tried a remote troubleshooting, but couldn't find the problem. Then he scheduled a visit the next day.

 + -1 moreHe made two trips. He was on time for the first one and late for the second one. He removed our Norton Anti-Virus without telling us until it was a done deal. He substituted AVG which we had not heard of. He was not personable and he was not as helpful as I hoped. But we did get the DVD burner installed. I still need to figure out how to download from our camcorder and create a DVD that can be used on any DVD player but I think I will try someone else.

He answered all my questions, explained what he was doing and made some good recommendations. My computer is running great! No more slowness, pop-ups, or getting stuck in websites. I will definitely hire this company again and have already recommended it to several friends.
Description of Work: On the internet my computer was continually getting redirected to other websites or would stop responding. It was also very slow and had many annoying "features" I couldn't figure out how to delete. Tyler cleaned-up the virus, spyware, trojans and unneeded programs. He recommended and loaded better internet access software and new anti-virus, firewall and spyware software. He was even able to track down and delete that last hidden bit of newer spyware.

Tyler fixed my problem, told me how to troubleshoot in the future, and fixed a problem on my husband's computer while he was here. He was very professional and knowledgeable. I would definitely call him again.

 + -1 moreShawn had a tech come and clean the system and it runs like a champ now! Very professional. They were running a bit late and called before hand to make sure it was ok to still come late, only 5 minutes!!! That is not something I've ever experienced, and it was very nice to have him explain everything he was doing. I'm a customer for life. Very nice outfit. They are a little more expensive than some others I was shopping, but I'm glad I chose Shawn, he was down to earth and didn't try to ''geek me'' or over tech anything the way I've sometimes felt at the chain stores when I'm asking simple questions. His tech was the same way and really taught me a lot about my computer while he was cleaning it. Overall well worth the money spent.
Description of Work: My Computer was infected with spyware, slow, stupid and sluggish. I had several programs i didn't need anymore, and also wanted to clean up the music and junk my kids had gotten on here.
