I was totally impressed with the team they sent out to do the work. They came totally prepared to do the job. Their salesman was very knowledgeable and advised me on what to get even though the company wouldn't make as much money. They cleaned up the place a lot better than they found it. I would use them in the future.

Sales was great. The installation had minor rocky parts - the first day there was a small leak they had to come back and fix (but they did, quickly and well). They did not do the ductwork to code at first (discovered at inspection). They did, however, respond and fix the problem for us. At this point the heater works fine.

Our weird, old, homemade-by-the-previous-owner hydronic heat system quit working. We called Greenwood on the recommendation of O'Neill Plumbing (who don't handle hydronic heat systems.) For a $150 emergency service call, Greenwood had a tech on site within 2 hours on a Saturday, who helped me shut down the system, depressurized it, and explained why it quit. He was knowledgeable, thorough, and courteous. Due to budget constraints, we ultimately hired another contractor to install a new boiler. (Report on that experience to follow upon completion of work.) Greenwood's estimate was high, but their estimator was knowledgeable and thorough, and they carry quality, high-efficiency appliances.

They were very responsive. I am in a warm house because of them. They were so professional honoring the warranty of the manufacturer. THe manufacturer did not want to honor the warranty and I don't know if they ever got compensation for fixing my furnace.

Their service was what they said it would be at the price they quoted. They were punctual and professional. The guy took me down to the furnace and told me where the filters were and how to check them. He was helpful, since I have never had to deal with furnaces before. They were probably one of the better-priced companies in their field. He also sold us a lock-in rate for the following year.

This is the second time I've had Greenwood Heating come out. They are terrific. Really punctual, professional, friendly and trustworthy. I highly recommend them!

We called the after-hours number and received a call-back within 1/2 hour. A service tech came to our house at about 9:00 PM and correctly diagnosed the problem. However, he didn't have the part. The next day (in the snow), a repairman came to our house and installed the needed part. We then had heat, which was really welcome!

They want too much money for what they do.

Great. They were neat and tidy (as much as basement work can be) and the duct work is really nice! The workmanship on everything is great.

We had set up an appointment for our furnace to be inspected, and "tuned-up." The technician (Imran Shah) arrived on time as arranged (9:00 AM), and was very polite and courteous. Imran's inspection was very thorough. When he had finished, he had me come down and proceeded to inform me about everything that was good/bad about our furnace. He showed me each part that there was a problem with, and he thoroughly explained (to my understanding) what the problems were, and what needed to be done. Our furnace was so bad and dangerous that we would have to sign a waiver before he would turn it back on (which we didn't). Imran went over the various costs that were needed to fix the existing furnace. Pricing was fair, but the total cost was more than I had expected to repair our furnace. We then had Imran schedule someone to come out and give us an estimate on a new furnace (the cost to fix the old one warranted this action). The "Comfort Advisor" (Kevin Axtell) arrived earlier than scheduled (but called to ask if that was acceptable). Again, he was very polite and courteous, and he proceeded to go over all the choices we had, thoroughly explaining all the differences and comparisons between the various furnaces. There was no hard sell; Kevin answered all my questions completely. I was very comfortable with our conversation, and didn't feel pressured at all. We made our choice (a Lennox "Signature" G71P); I had expressed my desire to have the new furnace installed immediately if possible (no heat, snow outside, 27 degrees and falling). Kevin called to see what their schedule was, and verified that they could have the furnace installed the next day, starting between 8:30 or 9:00 AM, depending on the weather. We signed all the paperwork, and Kevin gave us two "radiator" type space heaters to use until the new furnace was up and running (what great service!). The next morning the installer (Garry B.) arrived on time, was polite and courteous, (in all that snow and cold; bad conditions to be sure...I was amazed) and proceeded to remove the old furnace and install the new one. The work was done in approximately six hours, with no unnecessary interruptions or unreasonable noise (which was a concern for me since I work from home). When the work was completed, Garry went over the new thermostat controls with me, and answered all of the questions I had concerning the operation of the new furnace. Garry was a true professional. The workspace was cleaned, all paperwork was given to me, and the best news (other than we now had heat) was that there were no additional or hidden costs for what was originally scheduled. We returned the two space heaters to Garry, and thanked him for the work that he had done.

The worker was very courteous and professional. He was quick and showed me how to change the filter myself. He gave me a discount on the next service if I bought it that same day.

When our furnace stopped working, we called Greenwood (who regularly services our heating and A/C) to diagnose the issue. Upon determining the repairs would not be price effective, we decided to purchase a new furnace. The following night, we met with their new systems representative, who was very patient in answering our questions and making recommendations based on our needs. After checking with a few other sources, we decided to purchase through Greenwood. While there seemed to be a few details lost in translation between the sales rep and the installer, the installer was very clean and thorough in removing our old furnace and installing the new one. He was easy for me to interact with and he saw that my requests around the heating system were seen to. In follow-up, we did have a little bit of difficulty ensuring we had the right rebate information (again, it seems a few things were not communicated by the sales rep), though we were able to straighten everything out in the end after one phone call. Overall, I am happy with how everything went and am pleased with our new system. Our heating bills are lower, too!

I purchased a general cleaning each year to keep my heater running clean. They are always friendly and professional as well as fast in their services.

Greenwood did an excellent job with a very clean installation. They were punctual for the estimate, did a pre-work walk through to ensure everything was covered, and showed up on time every day until the work was complete. They even sent a person out after they were complete and paid for to move our gas line for the range by a few inches to ensure it would be inside of our new cabinet footprint. I would recommend them for future work

They were on time for the estimate, thorough in examining the old furnace, duct and space to be heated. The bid came in about $1000 higher than the company we went with for the same service.

They came out and took his time assessing the work, and gave the estimate very promptly.. They were very thorough looking into the project. Kevin was the representative, and he was very good and knowledgeable. The estimate they quoted was very reasonable.

We decided not to use this firm only because their price was nearly 25% higher than another highly rated company. If they had been within 5-10% of the other company's bid we would have gone with them.

I have been using their services for about six years. They are very responsive and they do not over charge. They teach you things about it and do not try to sell you things you do not need.

Kevin came out twice to go over the work and different things I was looking to do. He was very professional and knowledgeable. Unfortunately the company was not as interested in doing a small amount of the work and wanted to do the whole job. I understand there is a cost to come out, but it would have probably encouraged me to hire them if they had been willing to do the small piece up front.

Their pricing is very reasonable. They were timely. They were very professional with their work. They were very respectful about being inside our house.

It was very good. They were able to identify the problem. The repair cost will exceed actually buying a new unit. The technician was very helpful. The unit was about 7 years old and it had a 5 year warranty. Their technician did a very good job.

They came on time and they called right before they came just to make sure I was there. They spent about 45 minutes doing the work. I needed help with my thermostat and they were more than happy to help me program it. I am very happy with them.

I had a very hard time finding a company to even look at the problem. It was in the winter when the heating companies are busy with larger projects. They came out in a timely manner and got the work done even sooner than they originally promised. I guess it was a somewhat unusual project. At one point there were three crews here. I think they were in the area and stopped by to lend a hand. I was concerned that all those people would increase the cost of the job but it did not. The work was done exactly was I had requested.

They did a good job and got the job done for us. I didn't have any other estimates to compare the price to, so I didn't grade that category.

The furnace had been failing to turn on or would shut off periodically, a couple of times we came home to a very cold house. We had used Greenwood once before and I saw that they were one of the top on Angie's List. Greenwood was able to schedule me in the next day, and explained that it might be best to do the maintenance first, since it had been a number of years, before trying to diagnose a shut off problem. This saved me the fee to analyze a problem. The repairman explained a number of safety features that might cause the furnace to shut off. He not only did a thorough job cleaning the furnace, but tightened some bolts that may have allowed excessive vibration. He was pretty sure the cleaning would solve the shut off problem. The repairman even wore booties to cover his shoes and keep our rugs clean. He also scheduled a maintenance for next year and paying in advance saved $45. The furnace hasn't shut off once since the cleaning, but its only been 4 days.
