Greenwood is listed as an approved installer for the Snohomish County PUD efficiency and weatherization rebate program. They made my short list of potential contractors based on the reviews here, and the fact that Greenwood is also experienced with geothermal systems. Trevor arrived for the bid appointment on time (he called about 15 minutes before arriving), and we spent about an hour going over the various options and what would be necessary to install the system. I found his demeanor and approach quite comfortable and low pressure. Because our current furnace is essentially the original electric furnace from the early 70's, we wanted to be sure to upgrade to something significantly better than a "contractor grade" air source system, which means a top of the line heat pump, air handler, thermostat and filter. The "cost of service" number above represents the final bid after discounts and rebates. One thing that miffed me a little (and this applies to ALL the companies I contacted for bids), was that I specifically expressed interest in discussing a geothermal (ground source) system, yet none of the representatives that showed up felt very comfortable proceeding with such a discussion. Trevor from Greenwood provided some good information initial information about geothermal and did not try to talk me out of it, like everyone else seemed to do. At the end of our bid appointment, Trevor told me he would talk with their geothermal expert and, since they both lived in the area, Trevor made arrangements for himself and their geothermal expert Kevin to show up a few days later in the late afternoon (fitting my schedule perfectly). In the meantime, Trevor supplied his air source bid within about a day, which was very appreciated. Trevor and Kevin showed up a few days later. Kevin, who is also the sales manager was very knowledgeable, and basically said that it was feasible to install a geothermal system, and explained exactly what would be required to make it happen. He also explained that the extra efficiency of the geothermal systems was about $400 annually relative to the air source system. Without any pressure, they let me make the decision that geothermal was not for us - it would require digging up 60' x 20' x 8' deep (essentially our entire back yard), about $4000 more in system/installation costs (requiring 10 years to make back), and would not include restoring our back yard (easily a few more thousand). With a little more space or a previously planned landscaping effort, it might make sense, but not for us at this time. So why didn't we go with Greenwood? It was a VERY difficult decision not to use them, and I'm still nagged by self-doubt. The competing bid was just slightly less (relative to the equipment), was a more "local" company (to us), demonstrated a close relationship with the Snohomish PUD, and offered whole house humidification. While I could probably have talked Greenwood into offering humidification, it's not something they like to do. Since we are very likely to have this added to our system (if not now then in the future), I wanted to only deal with one company for the entire HVAC system. Greenwood also does not serve as the "prime contractor", so some other services (e.g. electrical) are provided by others, under separate invoice. This worked against Greenwood vs. the competition, as the "winning" bid included these additional efforts, permits, etc. as part of the final bid amount. Overall, working with Greenwood for the short time that we did was informative, comfortable, and low pressure. Even though we decided not to use them, I would highly recommend others consider them for their own needs.

They were absolutely excellent. They left their work area clean and were there when they said they would be there. They had their own electrician come in and it was just completely quality work. The equipment that they installed had absolutely no problems.

Equipment was installed within a week of consultation. Technicians were courteous and friendly, and they cleaned up before they left. Overall positive experience.

The technician arrived promptly and was friendly. He serviced my furnace and did a carbon monoxide (CO) test in one of the heating vents inside my house. He showed me the reading, which was 2 parts per million, and I think I recall him doing a reading in the air in the room that read 1 part per million. Explaining he was required by law to turn off my furnace if any CO was detected, he did so and explained how to turn it back on when appropriate. He demonstrated how to put the filters back for our furnace after cleaning them. The good parts: Punctual Polite Willing to explain / educate The bad parts: The extremely speedy explanation of why my furnace probably needed replacing The immediate referral to Greenwood's Sales department to schedule a representative to come out and give me a quote The two follow-up phone calls (in the same day from different people) to schedule repairs--this after being told I probably needed a new furnace (ours being about16 years old). I called our local gas utility to have them come out and assess our furnace situation. They ran their tests, said my furnace was doing great, adding that whomever had been maintaining it (another company besides Greenwood) was doing a great job, and said that the 1 part per million of CO could be accounted for by their being a bit of CO remaining in the detection device after testing the furnace itself. In my opinion, Greenwood Heating is pushy and exploitive and I would never use them again.

Jim, the sales guy was very responsive and bent over backwards to assist me in getting the go ahead from the condo board. The price was in line with other quotes I received. Justin and Raja did the install and were great. The whole thing was done and everything cleaned up in about 3 and a half hours! Nice guys and hard workers. Overall, I'm completely satisfied with the work and the product.

I called Greenwood Heating for help with our HVAC needs in the house which I just outlined above. The rep came out and went through all the items with me and came up with a plan for how to accomplish them and a cost. We accepted the bid and the work was scheduled within a couple weeks. Tony came to do the work and he was very thorough and did a great job. Overall it was a bit longer than a full day's work so he came back the next day to finish up. The new code requirement for make up air is not something that anyone in the residential side has much experience with but Tony read the information on the motor and installed the dampner, motor and duct which ran approximately 16 feet to the edge of the house. He installed a wall hood for this. The dryer duct is now installed firmly, insulated well and easy to keep clean. It is superior to the one that was there when we purchased the house. The heating duct is beautiful if a heating duct can be beautiful and the boot for the undercabinet register should work beautifully. The cabinet builder said it would be fine. The inspector approved of the items so we are pleased to be moving along to other aspects of the project. Thanks Greenwood, you've helped us yet again!

Prompt, professional service. Only exception is one air vent did not work following service.

Quickly recognized the problem, and although did not have the replacement part, was able to repair the soldering on the board and get it to work. Provided other useful advice about our heating system. Was prompt, diligent, and respectful.

Kevin Morris gave me an estimate and was able to schedule installation within one to two weeks. Jesse Lehmbecker and team installed the air conditioner and Pure Air filter in a prompt, professional manner according to our specific requests. Ed Geiger then did an exceptional quality control check of the entire system. Don from Greenwood did an outstanding job cleaning all our air ducts. I highly recommend this company and their team of professional installers.

Everything went really well except the kid doing the job chipped our tile floor (not real bad). He ended up not putting a filter holder on the furnace which we thought was NOT normal. After a bit of bickering with them, they did install a holder that was much better than the one we orginally had. You just DON'T leave a filter exposed to things to fall on it without protection. NO BRAINER.

Overall the company was kind and professional, but I do feel their pricing is much higher than other surrounding small local companies.

These guys were great! They came when they said they would and were very good about keeping us informed of the progress. They were clean and careful with my new carpet and when they were done the were great about teaching us how to use it. We had call backs to make sure we were happy and even went over again how to make it work for us. Everyone we worked with from the sales, office and installers were professional, personable and just plain old great! We are still debating the solar panels and if we can justify it we will be calling them again. This was a very pleasant experience and I would recommend them and use them in the future

Both installers were very professional and got right to work removing our very antiquated and rather large furnace, then replaced it with a new, much smaller, energy efficient furnace. Both installers had a nice disposition and were quite proficient at their job. As a bonus they also cleaned up the mess that was made. We had further work done by Greenwood at a later date for duct cleaning after which there was a problem with the thermostat . They responded immediately, although it was after 7 pm. Great job!

The overall process was really good. Kevin came to the house and gave me the estimate. I really liked his attitude, and how he treated me. While his estimate wasn't the lowest bid (I got 2 other bids), it was competitive, and I liked the other things Greenwood was offering - a guarantee for the work, along with the guarantee by the furnace manufacturer (Lennox). I was very happy with my decision to choose Greenwood. The work was done by 2 workmen. It took 1 full day. I was very happy with how it turned out. Everything was installed very cleanly, and it looks very good. The room it was installed in has many pipes visible, and his addition looks very smooth compared to the existing ones. My only complaint (very small) was that the cleanup could have been a little better (I give them an A- on that). Overall, I would recommend them to anyone.

The air duct cleaning was done as scheduled and I was pleased with the service provided.

To their credit, they did not charge me for the electronic box that they replaced. They did the best they could considering the circumstances.

Garry Barker was exceptional. We had a severe gas leak and ended up needed a new furnace and duct work done. We expected to be without heat for over a week since they were so busy, but Garry worked it out so we had our new furnace the next day. He also fixed our freezing cold basement issue by installing another air return vent strategically which kept the warm air from escaping through the ceiling as usual. We had others try to address this problem before with no luck. It was an expensive ordeal but no fault of Greenwood Heating, that's just the cost of the equipment as we decided to go with a top rated unit. Would highly recommend!

The process from start to finish was flawless. The communication from office, service tech and installers was impecable. The install including sheet metal is clean and profesional. I have another home that is also due for a new gas furnace. I will be calling Greenwood Heating for that install as well. Nice job Greenwood!

I would highly recommend this company as they were efficient in their work, clean, and prompt.

Sales guy (John) came out and recommended that we have the furnace diagnosed by their tech instead - as maybe the air quality problems were influenced by leaking exhaust into house. Fair enough. Tech came out, said there were teeny bits of CO being released briefly when system starts up, but nothing to be alarmed about. We asked if we could get the estimate for the air exchanger still, as there still wasn't a clear cause of the air quality problems. The tech said he would let the sales guy know that we still wanted the estimate. A week later I hadn't heard anything back from them, so I called to find out the status on it. He said he'd get it to me in a couple of days. I didn't feel like corralling contractors so i didn't call again. He never got it to us, and that was about a month ago. ++++UPDATE++++ After posting this review we were contacted by the sales manager and given priority attention. Raising grade to B as they were sincere about resolving the problem.
