Greenwood Heating and Home Services

We have been using them for maybe 20 years! We bought a high-end Lennox furnace from them several years ago and it's worked out great. I was particularly impressed with the technician who did the installation. It required a number of skills including: sheet metal, electrical, plumbing, gas, and electronic skills. I have no complaints with them whatsoever. We plan to turn to them for a new a/c unit in the coming weeks.

I had a sewer backup in my basement and needed to have a boiler and hot water tanks removed and then put back after the wet wall was replaced. Greenwood was one of four companies I asked to bid on the job. They charge $155.00 to provide a bid which is applied to the work if they get the job and I was willing to pay that since the work was not routine and not every heating company does boilers. The man who came out to look at the job was very pleasant and seemed to know what he was doing. I asked him to provide a price for removal and replacement of the existing system and also wanted him to provide information, recommendations and pricing for a new hot water system and a new boiler (if needed). I made it clear that I would be submitting the information to my insurance company so it needed to be complete. What I got back several days later was an email that had bad grammar, was not in proper bid form and didn't even give any totals, just a ball park estimate between $8,000 and $12,000. It was very unprofessional!! Several days later I called Greenwood to complain about the unprofessional bid and spoke to Patrick H. He asked me to forward the email to him and he would get back to me perhaps to refund the bid charge. Two weeks later I had not heard anything from him and there was no refund on my credit card. I called again and he said he didn't recall saying he might refund the charge but he would do it. He did follow through this time and a refund of the bid charge was posted to my credit card. I asked him why there was no proper bid submitted and he indicated it was because there were two different departments involved. While I am pleased that they did refund the bid charge, I am still not impressed with their professionalism overall.

This job was completed efficiently and the bid came in $5,000 less than Brennan. I called Home Depot as well to get a third bid, but it turned out that Greenwood is the company that Home Depot partners with in Seattle. I decided to see where Greenwood's bid landed before I scheduled an estimate from a third company. I had a good feeling from the start with Greenwood, I decided on the spot to go with them, and it turned out really well. This new A/C and heat system is super quiet. It's very impressive and I am super happy with it. It's a Mitsubishi system that's made in Japan, so I'm hoping that it'll be as reliable as a Japanese car. It also cost almost as much as a Japanese car. The Process: Greenwood sent folks out twice before the install. The first visit was from Jim who did the bid and took my money. He was super thorough and professional. The next week an equally professional gentleman came out to do a more in-depth survey of my property. The install itself happened the following week and took three days. They were very careful around the property. They put booties on over their shoes to walk around the house. After the installation they spent some time with me going over the controls. They will come out one more time in a couple of weeks to make sure everything is working ok. Someone from the city is also coming to do an inspection. Update: They sent someone out to check things over and they adjusted a conduit outside and made it look better. It's been really nice having serious A/C this summer.

The consultant was not very helpful, mostly just giving me Lennox furnace pamphlets. I was told I would get a quote via e-mail by the 5th or 6th, but now it is 2 weeks later and I have heard nothing. This is very disappointing and a waste of my time.

The service and professionalism was A+. Greenwood had installed our furnace 20 years ago and until it gave out this month we have had no problems with it.So we decided to use them again due to their reputation and our past experience. Companies can change a lot in 20 years so we were hoping they were up to the same standards. They kept us informed through every step and were very professional while here for 2 days installing.

From initial consultation to final inspection-absolutely stress free experience with knowledgeable no-nonsense professionals who have obviously done this so many times that you simply sit back and watch the process and know that you made the right choice. The electrical sub contractor (As You Wish Electric) was equally professional and I will be working with them again in the future. Otherwise, start to finish, PERFECT.

Sales Rep took the time to listen to what we really needed and helped us figure out what we really needed. He gave us the best price and all the discounts we could get. Install guys were great. Very neat and cleaned up. Everyone was polite and kind. Job went super. They cheaper than anyone else as far a estimates.

Great service, good people, very competitive in price but not the cheapest. Worth it.

They did an overall good job. Wires on the compressor were a bit messy. While immediately fixed at my request, they should have been neat and wrapped prior to leaving.

Exactly as I'd hoped! We had multiple bidders. Greenwood came out a head for reasons that included good Angie's list ratings, an estimator/bidder who knew his stuff and was able to address our specific interests with a variety of options. We opted for higher end products/features because we are committed to living here for the next 30-40 years. Paid half down by credit card. Easy to schedule the visit. He was on time. An installation planner came next, also on time for our scheduled appointment. He did his assessment and advised it would probably take 5 and possibly 6 days. (We have only one access hatch at the back end of the house to serve the whole L shaped structure...) They were flexible in scheduling the actual installation -- my choice to do it the week of February 3rd. We started the process in Oct./November and 1) had no idea the Seahawks would win the Superbowl or b) that the temperatures would be soooo cold. The job started first thing on the 3rd and we wrapped up Friday about 1pm. Justin and Raj were here all 5 days, and Cody 3 of the 5. They called each morning to let me know they were on their way, and were always on-time. They were professional, very hard-working, and personable. Their "housekeeping" was amazing. For example, no sooner had they cut a hole in the flooring but they would vacuum/sweep and the area was kept clean. Everywhere they worked inside the house was cleaned/tidied up at the end of the day. We had some space available in the garage so they could unload the truck and leave things safely. They also cleaned that up before leaving. So, did I freeze to death and stink all week due to lack of hot water? Nope! They staged the project very sensibly and, to my amazement and gratitude, there were just a few hours once or twice that the water was turned off or heat unavailable between 9 and 4pm In fact, if I had been at work each day, I would not have known there was a major project affecting heat/hot water going on. I don't know how they did it, but they did. The removal of the old furnace/hot water heater left a rectangular hole in the floor and several holes in the ceiling. I thought the original bid included them placing temporary plywood over the holes. When I looked at the written bid it was not in there, nor did Justin/Raj have any plywood with them. The sizes weren't major and for people with the slightest bit of handiness it would have been next to nothing to handle it themselves. We're not handy. Without arguing or making a fuss, Justin fashioned and installed sheet metal over the holes. They never seem to forget their work involves things that affect people's safety and comfort. They were also more than willing to interrupt their work to answer my questions and took as much time as I needed at the end to get comfortable with how to operate the equipment, what to watch for that signals something might not be working right, what I needed to do about filters, etc.. I signed off on the final paperwork and paid the other half on 2/7. The only thing left is a visit from a City Inspector on February 13th to give final approval to the work. The gas inspection passed with flying colors so I expect this one to be fine, too. PS I have a request to make of all customers who have people come to do estimates or the actual work in their homes: Please make a restroom available for their use. I've now been told by so many people that my pointing out our restroom and inviting them to use it is RARE. YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!! This is just common courtesy in my book. People drink liquids. People need to wee. People can't always time when they'll need a restroom. People might suddenly get a gippy tummy... Pick up the bathroom rug and take your medicines elsewhere, if you must. (I don't.)

We used Greenwood shortly after moving into our home to service and inspect our furnace. Tech was very nice and informative, instructed us in cleaning the filter. Earlier this winter I planned to use Greenwood again for the same service but was unable to get an appointment for 2 weeks at which point I pursued another provider because I needed it completed more quickly. Otherwise I would still recommend Greenwood and consider them again in the future.

Very nice and very knowledgeable. They do a wonderful job. Very professional and they know what they are doing.

I have a yearly service agreement which saves me money.

Our main contact was JIm S. and her was great. He set up the deal in a straightforward way and remained our contact throughout the process. Kirk was the lead installer and he was a gem, on time, neat and did a great job installing the new stuff. Jesse his assistant was great too. There was a problem with the fireplace and it took several visits to get it to run correctly but their tech, Ratnesh, was persistent an got it figured out. We are very happy with the new furnace and fireplace.

It took at least a full day longer than estimated but they did a great job. Their quality was excellent.

They did an excellent job. I had three or four different guys bid on it and they were all within a few bucks of each other. The quality was good, but we had a little bit of trouble coordinating the inspectors to inspect the job.

My elderly mom called me at 7:30 at night and told me that her vents were blowing cold air. After checking with her to make sure the thermostat was set correctly I started calling heating companies. Greenwood was the only company who returned my emergency call. When he called me it was after 9:30 at night and he was leaving another job. He agreed to drive to my mom's house, repaired the furnace and even cleaned it out while he was there. Greenwood goes on my provider listing for heating and air conditioning!

Greenwood is amazing -- so much so they inspired me to write my first-ever review on Angie's List. I absolutely cannot thank and praise them enough for their outstanding service and expertise. Greenwood has now saved me on both the hottest (air conditioning repair) and coldest (furnace repair) days of the year. Their technicians are not only extremely smart, prepared, and comprehensive in their diagnoses, but also super polite, professional, courteous, and respectful. Their company has demonstrated to us the highest reliability and responsiveness even on what is no doubt the busiest and most demanding days of the year. After now saving us in multiple emergency situations, I will without question hire Greenwood for our next major project such as when our existing water heater and furnace reach end of life. Huge thanks to them and I can only wish every company had such great character and fairness.

Well, called for replacement of a part and was quoted 1k for this but needed a diagnoses by their serviceman. Was given a four hour window and rude man showed up an hour late. well he quoted me over double the original cost. Very unprofessional and rude.

I used GREENWOOD HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING.

Very knowledgeable. Prompt. Explained situation well. Excellent maintenance. Did not charge extra labor for some hidden problems which were found. Only charged fair price for parts. Only problem is price for routine annual inspection has increased significantly to $169. Less in the future if a three year contract is signed. Still, a good company with good technicians.

I called in the morning to have them look at a leak in my boiler system. They said they could come out in the afternoon. I asked if they could narrow down the time since I was at work. They showed up at the time they guessed. They're always been friendly and professional.

As far as heating and air conditioning go they are good for installation but not repair. They are professional, and I would recommend them to others for installation.
