This was a big deal purchase and it was fine. I have nice windows all the way around. There was a delay and they did not get back to me. I gave them a bad report because I had paid for it and I was really upset because it was close to the Christmas season. As soon as I got a bad report they got in touch with me, came out and did the work. One of the windows broke when they put it in so it was replaced right before Christmas. They had tried to get hold of me and had the wrong number. I got a run around from the office. The young man that they sent out was very personable and did a good job. I did not price any other comparables so I agreed to the price. I initially was treated pretty shabby by the front office. I would use them again with the assurance that I get the same young man who did this job.

Did a good job, looks good works good and he cleaned up after himself. You can't ask fo anything more than that

The A rating is a bit misleading. It should be an A minus or A minus minus. The reason I cannot give this company an A is their customer service office. We had quite a bit of difficulty with communications. Appointment times were altered without us being informed of the change in time. We requested trim samples before the windows were installed. It took 4 or 5 phone calls and some agitation on my part to get the samples delivered. Once they were delivered, we discovered that some of the options we were initially given were not actually available. More recently the front office performance seems to have improved; perhaps the company is making some changes. Apart from the front office issues, we had a very good experience with Emerald City Energy. The installers themselves were excellent. The product and the installation meet or exceed our expectations. They have been responsive to some small glitches that have needed fixing. All my questions have been answered fully.

I purchased two "3 windows to be installed" deals. My 6 windows I had replaced were all a little over the size covered in the deal, so there was a small amount per window I had to pay on top of the deal, but it was very reasonable and they were up front about it from the first phone call. So from the $2200.00 for the deals, with taxes and the size overages I was out another 700-800 dollars. 6 efficient large windows installed for $3,000.00 is still an excellent deal, and I'm very happy with their work.

It went excellent. They did a wonderful job. They were on time, courteous and friendly. I would recommend them to my friends and family.

Tipton and his helper were very quick and efficient, and kept me informed all the way through the install. They cleaned up everything afterward, and we are very happy with the new door.

The installation went very well. The windows being replaced were 1975 single panes with clunky storm windows. The installer had a learning curve to overcome on removing the first window, but after that the removal and replacement proceeded smoothly. Care had been taken to make accurate measurements prior to ordering the windows. That care paid off when every window fit perfectly. (Remember that this was a 1975 house.) In retrospect everyone with whom we dealt at Emerald City was professional and skilled. My advice to others looking for windows or other remodeling contractors is to identify those characteristics.

I explained to them what the problem was and they explained that they do larger jobs. They recommended me to another company and that was very nice of them. I really appreciated their feedback and the prompt response.

They haven't been to install the latest 5 window "big deal" I bought this summer but I had them install windows last year and they were awesome. They were punctual, professional and the windows were installed with a great tight fit. The only downside was I asked if they could get Milgard to sell/fit 2-3 other window screens that were either missing or broken when earlier windows were installed by another contractor and that didn't happen. Maybe it will happen with this summer's windows! I would highly recommend this company.

Wonderful company to work with. On time, professional and friendly. Paid great attention to detail when installing our new door, and thoroughly cleaned their work area when they were finished. I would highly recommend them.

They came out once to do the measurements. They were professional about it. But when they came out to install, they didn't have the right windows installed in the right places for two windows. They had to come back one more time to complete it. That was poor communication. Other than that, it was worth the installment and they did everything else right.

They were great. They were very prompt. Just two guys came out. It took them about an hour and a half. The price seemed average.

Emerald City Energy was prompt and professional. We are very happy with the windows. They were also very patient as we priced out different options. I think the only surprise was that the replacement windows had wider trim than we expected so we lost a little bit of glass area.

Emerald City Energy installed my oversize sliding glass patio door plus a large window in the back of the house that needed replacing. I'm very pleased with the quality of the products and the overall service they provided and would highly recommend them.

I ended up not needing the patio door at all, so I requested I refund. I am still having them come out to service the door track. They?re very professional and attentive to the details, and not just about selling the product.

Andy was the sales rep for Emerald City. He was very nice, professional, on time and a good communicator. I quoted this same item from two other companies on Angie's list and decided on Emerald City because Andy had a positive attitude and made the process easy. I met with him 2/6 and the door will be installed 2/16. Great response time. All together a very good experience.

The company returned my email promptly including a quote and suggestions. The sales staff, estimator and installers were very professional and worked around my timeframe. I am very satisfied with the workmanship and the appearance of the new windows and would recommend this company.

I was looking for a reputable company with honest pricing to replace all the windows in my rental home. I initially had called the company listed above Emerald city in my Angie's List booklet for a quote; the gentleman was not very pleasant to talk to, and gave me a quote on two windows of the same brand as the whole house cost me through Emerald! I did not feel comfortable with the quote, but went ahead and set up an appointment to meet with them @ the rental property that is occupied, as they said I had to be there 'in case I wanted to move forward with the order'. I drove 15 mi to the house after work one night, waited an hour, intruding on the renters evening only to get a call 1/2 after the appointment time to tell me they were running late and could be there in another 45 minutes! by this time it was after 7pm, so I told them to forget it! The next day I called Emerald City and talked with a wonderful man named Andy; he was very helpful, asked me what I was looking for, talked me through the whole process, sent a man named Terry out to the rental to do measurements (in which I did not have to be present for), and showed up promptly @ the scheduled time, and my renter said he was very professional. Andy even explained to me that I would get a one time PSE rebate by doing all the windows at one time; the first company I called never mentioned this perk at all. The job was completed when they said it would be, the house looks beautiful, and Adam helped me fill out the rebate forms to submit to PSE! everything was done by phone which I very much appreciated given my busy schedule! I cannot compliment the service I received enough with this company. I noticed they offer other services as well, and plan to call them first for the next job! Thank you Emerald City!

The initial contact and scheduling the appointment was professional and timely. The team who came out to do the install was on time, hard-working, did a good job and I am generally pleased with the windows. But there was a miscalculation on the measurement of one of the windows. It took longer than expected to get this replacement window installed and I wasn't as happy with the customer service on the replacement window as I was on the previous 5.

He called and wanted to know if I had purchased a deadbolt that is appropriate for my door. I told him I am not a locksmith. It turns out neither is he. If you know exactly what is required for your door and have already bought it, he is able to install it, presumably with you looking over his shoulder to coach him if necessary. I am requesting a refund and he gets a D for wasting my time.

It went very well. I plan to hire them again to install some doors for my home

Went great! Terry and Dave were great to work with. No sales pitch & no minimum. Replaced 2 bedroom windows, did a good job & process went smooth. Will not hesitate to use this company again!!

They ordered the wrong glass the first time so they had to come back out. They then came out and completed the work on September 29th. It went good. He was the nicest fellow. I was afraid that when they took out the old glass that they would damage the molding and paint around my doors but they did an amazing job.

The workers were scheduled to arrive at approximately 0900. They called; and said they would be late--arrived at approximately 10:25. Both workers were very pleasant, professional, and had an energetic work attitude. One was a plumber, who was basically there to help with lifting and setting the hefty units just off the ground into the frame. The other did carpentry, but told me that "windows were really not his specialty". The Installation was not finished in one day and it was very unsightly. The installer was not able to return the next day to finish and the only opening he had available was 4 days later. When he did not call or come back on the appointed day, this added to my concerns about the structural integrity of the partial install and the type of materials used. I lost faith in my choice of this company for my project I called and discussed my concerns with the scheduler, who was very apologetic and assured me that he wanted to get me scheduled right away and get my project completed. I spoke at length with him, and while I appreciated his customer service efforts, I told him I felt that I wanted to have another company complete the job. He asked me to speak with his superior, Andy, who also listened to my concerns and my decision to terminate the contract. My subsequent review reflected my disappointment with the materials and scheduling issues. In response to my initial review and "fail" rating, The Vice President of this company immediately reached out to me in a series of e-mails. He apologized for their lack of performance, and requested that I amend my review to reflect that my displeasure was represented; but also that they were willing to come back out to my project and make things right. He assured me that Emerald City Energy is, and has been, passionate about quality work and quality customer service for 17 years. He expressed understanding of my perspective regarding what had transpired and the resultant condition of my project. We concurred that the purpose of a review is to warn others of the danger of working with a company--and he assured me that his company does not have a history of being harmful to consumers. We agreed that the challenges of my particular project may have been beyond the scope of expertise of the installers. With recognition to the time loss and cost that will be involved to have someone else finish the project, he generously offered to refund 50% of what I had paid his company. I am impressed and appreciative of the efforts this man made on behalf of the reputation of his company.

We decided to do this work at the same time when we do siding on our house, which will be sometimes next year. It did not make sense to do it separately. The provider was very very helpful.
