We were doing plumbing for the bathroom tub and sink. He was to take the fixtures out and put the new fixtures in and that was the plumbing. He gave me a verbal estimate. I asked for a detailed quote in writing but he never did. When the job was said and done his bill was way higher than that. He goes, well, you put tile so we had to take the toilet off and put it back and we needed a plumber for that. I asked what happened to all of the fixtures because they were pretty new fixtures and I wanted to keep them because I can give them to people that have rentals or use them else where. No, you are not getting them back, I already got rid of them. He just gave me a total bill. What I didn't like about him was he would have his brother come and check and the brother would be roaming in the garage trying to turn the water connection off and ended up searching for it, searching for everything else, what was in the garage to scout and take. I stood there so that he never took anything. The other thing was that when his people came, they were Hispanic people and they would bring all of their buddies into the house. So there would be 4 or 5 that would visit and they had no business in plumbing they were just there with their friend who was working. That's a safety issue, a security issue. When you are home all alone and you have 4 or 5 guys just walking through your home come to visit their friend. I finally had to kick them out. I said, this is not visiting time, it is work and why are you coming to my house to visit him, you can visit him else where. I didn't like the fellow. He was harsh, abrupt, rude, not friendly, not professional, did not bother to give a written estimate even though we asked for one. I wouldn't use him again. He wouldn't answer calls. He was rude, obnoxious, not a person to use. He put a bar in the shower, a bar to hold so you don't slip, the little edges on it that are supposed to be glued down are absolutely loose. They haven't been put down. He said, just go get some glue and just glue it down. He didn't even finish his job. Every time we take a shower, the little knobs on the end are loose and just roam all over. We have to live with it.

Don returned my call promptly, fit me in to his schedule. The next day and was within $13 of his estimate, which was acceptable. He was polite and efficient.
