We are a husband and wife owned local company located in Auburn WA. All work is done by Roger who has over 30 years experience in the home improvement industry. We use only employees, no subcontractors or day laborers. We are fully licensed, bonded, and insured. In full compliance with all Washington State requirements and current on workers compensation premiums. Why is this important to you? Companies that are NOT licensed, bonded and insured open the home owner up to no available recourse in the event that the job goes bad. If a non licensed company does more damage to your home there is no option for you the home owner to get help and corrections from an insurance company or from the bonding company. If work on your home is done by a company that is NOT current nor legally hire employees and someone hurts themselves while at your home, that person can be allowed to use your home owners insurance to cover medical bills and fee's related to their injury. It is important to do your research as the home owner to make sure that you are covered by the company you hire. RDH offer's a 1 year warranty on all work we perform, and since we do not use subcontracting labor or day laborers your warranty covers installation as well as the materials.

I started my business for people that were tired of poor quality, poor ethics, and limited options. I enjoy talking with my clients to find out exactly what they want. And design and engineer the pieces to match their vision. I don't mind odd at all! I prefer to make all the components (all moldings, base, casings, trim) of a project in house out of actual hardwood (Janka 1000+) or higher, so I can ensure that every part of my designs, meet my standard of quality. I don't use MDF or particle board in any of my designs. You can get that elsewhere. My desire is to make your idea an heirloom piece. Something your grand children can use and reminisce about. If you have a item that falls into the following categories and want it well made, feel free to contact me about it. Cabinets, solid wood furniture, doors, arbors, decks, and fences, stained glass, light metal work.....

"JK Construction was a contractor pro recommended by Home Depot for a bathroom remodel. Joel gave us a quote for two bathroom remodels. He completed demolition and then went on a week vacation to Las Vegas with out giving us prior notice. Joel diddn't show up till almost 11am daily and would stay into the late evening hours which disturbed our family life. Additionally he missed several days stating "family issues" with his wife's teenage child. As the project progressed he denied bidding on multiple items and billed us in addition to the quoted bid. He demanded payment on a daily basis and the week project lasted over a month. Joel did not have proper tools for the work he bid, thus he bought them, added the cost to the daily bill and then we got stuck with unwanted tools. He was flexible when we encountered additional jobs billing for them by the hour. It was obvious that he had no previous experience with the bathroom remodel and was painfully slow because of it. We spoke with HomeDepot management and were told he was going to be removed from their recommended contractor list which we've since found out did not happen. The better business bureau and WA Labor & Industries were notified and a complaints filed."

Unless you have extensive experience in construction work, remodeling a basement is best left to a professional. There are several tasks associated with this project that require exact precision, including:
Replacing insulation
Replacing carpet or other flooring
Adding heating and cooling
Adjusting or adding walls and doors
Altering or adding plumbing elements
If any of these elements is done incorrectly, it could severely impact the quality of your basement remodel and be dangerous. Changing a basement often comes with code safety requirements, like egress windows and proper ventilation. Therefore, leaving it up to a professional is often the best decision.
The cost to finish a basement is $18,400 for the average homeowner. However, this cost could be as little as $2,800 or as much as $34,500, depending on the basement size and the materials needed. If your basement is already outfitted with electrical and plumbing, expect the cost to fall on the lower end.
For example, the drywall cost for this project averages around $1,750, but other features, like hiring a plumber, cost between $45 and $200 per hour.
The cost to remodel a basement is between $12,100 and $33,400 for the average homeowner. The price you pay can be as little as $3,500 or as much as $50,200, depending on the size and condition of your basement and the type of remodel you're doing.
If you're doing a simple project like adding a home office to your basement, you can expect to pay anywhere from $500 to $3,000. However, if you're adding a bathroom, which is an extensive project, you can expect to pay between $6,600 to $16,500.
Since DIYing a basement remodel isn't typically advised, there are some ways that you can still save money on this project without putting yourself in danger. Some ways to save money on a basement remodel include:
Painting walls yourself versus including in the cost of the remodel
Installing light fixtures yourself
Choosing prefabricated fixtures, like cabinets, over custom ones
Choosing a budget-friendly flooring option, like laminate or vinyl flooring, and add rugs where necessary
Although homeowners often use the terms basement remodeling and basement finishing interchangeably, they are quite different terms.
Finishing a basement is the process of taking a basement space that is not habitable and adding elements to make it usable. This includes adding plumbing, flooring, and insulation.
Remodeling a basement means taking an already existing finished basement and changing it, often by adding or removing walls, adding plumbing, or changing the existing flooring.
