Narrows is fantastic! Thorough, professional, and excellent communicators. Listened to what we wanted and didn't try to sell us anything we didn't need. We had heating via electric baseboards and a gas fireplace previously and had them install a whole new system including ductwork in our old craftsman. They said it would be a four day job but they ended up sending everyone at once and finishing in two. Loving the AC now and I'm sure we'll be thrilled with the heat this winter. I can't recommend them enough!

Everything went excellent. Constant communication from the time Chris gave me an estimate until the day the installation was performed. Three workers arrived and did all of the work in one day. Left the garage cleaner than before they arrived. Excellent installation work.

My furnace conked out totally so I needed a new furnace. I had purchased TRANE furnaces in the past and a friend had recommended narrows heating to me. In 2008 she had a furnace installed and she found them to be a good company. I had a sales representative, Chris Calhoun come out to my home 12/4/2015. He sent me an estimate that day for two furnaces and one air unit. I chose the $3,723.33 furnace and the $4100 air conditioner. The company came out on 12/18 to install the furnace and they came back on the 21st approx. to install the air unit. Since the furnace was installed my home has not been heated. The room where the thermostat was installed is 68 degrees when the thermostat says 70. regardless of the temperature on the thermostat my upstairs is 64 degrees in two rooms and 66 degrees in the room directly above the room with the thermostat. No matter what I do the temperature in the adjoining room to the thermostat doesn't get above 64 degrees. When this company came out to give me estimates I did tell them that I had trouble with some of the heating vents not getting any air flow. They did not check my duct work even though I told them this. When they came out to install the furnace and they tried to check the flow of air they discovered that one of the joints in my duct work had become unattached. They told me as a courtesy to me they reattached it but that I should contact the company to have it repaired as the insulation had gotten wet. At this point I was sent through the mail an estimate for #1667.00 to replace all the duct work. When I asked about this I was told by Chris that my duct work was all bad and wasn't installed properly in the first place. My house is 21 years old and the old furnace was using this duct work and my upstairs was warm so I contacted the main TRANE corporation and was advised to get additional estimates. They gave me two other TRANE dealers in Tacoma. I contacted one and explained the situation to them and they said they would contact me but never did. After calling twice I contacted the other dealer and got them out to my home before explaining. They told me that the furnace and air units did not match and my furnace would freeze up in the summer when I ran the air unit. I have had two other separate confirmations that my units do match but my home is still not warm so I don't know how it will be cool in the winter. The Narrows heating says this is all my fault for not telling them that I had duct problems. When I asked them to remove the furnace and air units then they said they would send the owner out but instead they sent a technician who checked the blowers and the thermostat but didn't know why it did not register the right temperature. I was very upset that the owner did not show up like they had promised so I told her again to remove the units then I put it in writing for the second time that I wanted them removed. In my email I asked that the regional representative contact me. Narrows at this point said they would have the regional rep contact me but I had to do it myself. She said that "next week" they had plenty of availability. My house is cold. I am not sure why that does not concern her but it concerns me since this has been an issue since before Christmas and it is now January 12 and I am cold and frustrated. I want to have them come get their equipment as I cannot trust that any service I need in the future will be handled any differently. I feel they are not trustworthy and they do not look at ducts which is crazy! Every one who hears this is amazed that duct work is not part of their assessment. $ theetad thee

Contractor showed up when he said he would, and finished within the estimated time frame. System makes the home more comfortable. Indoor and outdoor components are very quiet. Approximate cost of service reflects out-of-pocket expense, including sales tax. The local utility and system manufacturer both offered rebates for the system. Plus, the local utility offered a no-interest loan for half of the system. We expect to see a reduction in our heating bill, plus we will have cooling available during the summer months.

This is the second fall I've used Narrows. The previous company showed up, changed the filter, flipped the system on and off, and charged me $90. With Narrows, I'm paying more but I'm getting value. Both years the tech has thoroughly inspected, cleaned, adjusted -- and has not tried to upsell me like the lower cost vendor from a couple years back. I'd rather pay a bit more and get solid professional service.

The project went great! The bidding process went smoothly and I was impressed by Chris' knowledge of what his business does and the industry. He gave me some good advice and helped me learn about rebates that I qualified for. The bid was competitive and we chose Narrows Heating because of the professionalism and helpful advice. They walked us through our projects from start to finish. They followed up with the utility company to get our rebate paperwork through and adjusted their schedule to get the system installed before the house was moved into. The installers were professional and left the house in perfect condition. Everything cleaned up, nothing damaged, finished in a timely manner. We were walked through the inspection process and everything went smoothly. Definitely one of the easiest home maintenance projects I've ever done. Thank you, Chris and other staff.

The project went very well. It was a two day install and I was able to schedule it to work for me. All workers were respectful and nice. Very approachable if I had a question during install. The team left the work site clean after each day instead of making me feel as though I was under construction. After having the system a few weeks I had some new questions arise and they gladly came out to assist me. Great experience.

After I contacted the provider for an estimate, he was very prompt in responding and setting up a time to come out. He showed up right on time. We weren't entirely sure we were going to have this service performed, so he gave us ample time to think about it and then followed up to see if we were going to have the work done. When we did decide to go ahead with this project, he was very quick at scheduling a time to come out. His workers were very prompt and professional, cleaning up after themselves. The only thing we weren't entirely happy about was the placement of the outside unit, as it makes it difficult to access the back yard. It is not placed where we were told it would be. However, we were very happy with everything else. Communication was exceptional the whole way through the process. We were even sent a thank you card in the mail!

The workers were prompt, efficient, friendly, and easy to work with. They cleaned up all of their mess and despite the odd configuration of our house, they found a good way to get the entire thing done in one day. Their sales rep showed us how to get the best deal of financing the project and found two ways to get incentives from the power company and the Trane manufacturing program. Their price also included a new thermostat, and all of the permitting costs with the county.

The duct cleaning and dryer vent cleaning was done first with one gentleman. As the duct cleaning was being completed the maintenance specialist was called to deal with the furnance. Everyone was timely and helpful regarding venting issues and answered all furnance questions. It was nice to deal with all these issues with the same provider. By reading all the reviews chose the vendor that installed our furnace 12 years ago.

David came to the house as promised, and did an excellent job of checking the existing system to see what was needed to do what I wanted. He concluded he could do the job OK, but called my attention to the need for additional cold air return to handle the greater air flow that would be necessary for the needed 4 ton furnace fan and the 3.5 ton heat pump. This issue was not new to me, but he had an idea for a fix that I liked much better than what had been suggested by other vendors. Most of the contractors I interviewed came up with prices that were within a few dollars of each of each other, and I probably would have given David the job if he could have matched significantly lower prices I had from two other vendors, both of whom offered discounts that David did not offer. He also seemed reticent and unwilling to estimate costs associated with opening up existing ductwork runs that were hidden in dry walled enclosures, even though (I thought) it was obvious what was inside.

Narrows Heating came highly recommended by co-workers. We had 3 companies give us bids and Narrows was able to get us a great deal with rebates and 0% financing. Steve Calhoun did the estimate for us. He was very responsive and helpful answering our questions. I found him credible, knowledgable and sincere. On the scheduled date Steve came by to get the installers squared away. It was an impressive symphony of workers at the house between installers and electricians. They were all professional and considerate of my home. The two workers I communicated most with were friendly, efficient and just plain nice. By mid- day the 2nd day we were getting trained on how to use the new system and feeling great about the cooling down of the house after a hot summer with no A/C. We weren't charged any extra to have our old A/C removed, including the concrete block which was really nice. You can barely tell something used to be there. The new heat pump area and downstairs furnace area were perfectly clean when they were done and everything installed in a tidy manner. The only glitch we had was with the thermostat due to recent model changes by the manufacturer. Steve straightened it out right away and they installed the one we wanted. Overall, an excellent experience. We will definitely use Narrows Heating again and recommend them to others. Dream contractors.

After a bad recent (2weeks ago) bad experience with another Heating vendor which did not have any posted reviews on Angie's List, I chose to use a company which had straight A's and which had been used by my son in the past. One should avoid any company which does not have an A rating as this narrative will explain. Narrows Heating and Air Conditioning was hired to perform a maintenance service onmy mother-in-law's gas furnace. Mike from their company arrived on time, introduced himself and went over what he intended to do. We had some questions and instead of being inconvenienced, he stopped and took the time to explain modern air filters, and what caused the white residue in the furnace cabinet. He then went to work cleaning the fan assembly, the burner area, and inquired about the inside filters which I had already cleaned. He inspected my work and showed me a slightly better way to do the cleaning. Following the surface cleaning he disassembled as little as possible while thoroughly servicing the burner assembly. He further went inside the house and verified the wiring of the thermostat. Finally, he checked all the safety interlocks which were properly working. This took a full hour of his time for which he charge $149 plus tax. We received a written report describing the work and the condition of the furnace for future reference. This service was so dramatically than my previous experience it became obvious the quality of the training, experience and work ethics for Narrows Heating. I can confidently say I will recommend this company for both repair and new work based on the Angie's reports and my personal experience. Actually, I'd ask for Mike to do the work if you have the opportunity.

I purchased a short sale a couple of years ago. I had no idea when anything had last been serviced, but noticed my house was not warming like it should. Joel arrived on time and spent his day going above and beyond. He cleaned the ducts and really took his time. He also when under the house and noticed the Duct to my master bedroom had come loose, he did the best he could to resecure it. He recommended DUCTZ for duct sealing, I was pleased to find out PSE would pay 50% of the cost to have my Ducts sealed, I have an appt. for that soon. Joel moved furnture and moved it back, he left no mess at all. He was informative, honest, and helpful! I always see crazy offers for 100 duct cleaning, but I am glad I went with a legit company that charges more upfront, there was absolutely no upsell. Thank you Joel!!

I bought a short sale and seen this company on the trane furnace, I noticed my house was not warming like it should and scheduled a furnace inspection. The tech Andy was professional. I feel like the 150.00 was a bit high for the inspection which was really quick, but he also changed the filter. I also used this company for a duct cleaning with a different tech.

He told me what I could use to clean fireplace glass because I had no idea how to get it really clean; so that was nice to know. He also gave us other tips on how to maintain our three fireplaces. He was efficient and I thought he did a very good job.

The entire process went smoothly and the unit works great. I would recommend Narrows Heating to everyone.

We sought and received multiple bids for a new gas furnace and air cleaner. Chris Calhoun, representing Narrows Heating, came out and described our options and answered all our questions. He told us when he would have our estimate ready, answered a remaining question or two we had by e-mail. Our estimate arrived on time and was clear and precise. We set up a date which matched Chris's estimate of how far out they were. The crew arrived the day we chose, removed the old furnace and air cleaner and installed the new in one day, as promised. They were professional, nice and cleaned and took everything away. It was really a seamless process and if I'd known how easy it was all going to be it would have been an easier decision to make. This is a quality company and there is no question that when we get a heat pump, Narrows will get our business.

The technician was great. He was professional and took care with our home. The services were delivered as promised and we are happy with the product they recommended for air filtration and with the duct cleaning.
