Mr. Redding, Over the summer I employed your company's services to restore and paint an antique bed. I asked to have the headboard looked at (due to slanting) and to have the bed re-finished. I mentioned the bed's age and asked in a general manner to have it "fixed-up". There were some problems with the documentation, as I later learned only the headboards slanting and my request to have the bed painted were documented, so when the side rail broke apart from the RSF footboard, in November, I was made aware that this second repair would be at a charge. If my records reflect correctly there was approximately ninety days between the delivery of the first attempt at repair, of my bed, and this broken side rail/footboard.While I was somewhat shocked that this work would be at a charge, I did go along with the plan. Upon this second repair, I have now the bed in my home approximately one week. Initially I noticed deep scratches on the bottom, RSF footboard. I kept thinking to that I do not remember those marks from before, but wanting to be done with this ordeal I gave the benefit of the doubt and hoped those marks were there previously. Then I took a look at my headboard. The finish has overall bubbling and you will see there is missing paint in several areas and I am lucky enough to sleep beneath some gentlemens fingerprints every night; on BOTH the right and left side of my headboard! Furthermore, there is a pine needle embedded into the paint! I can not believe a professional would send back something of this quality. Seeing the poor repair job it then makes me suspect that those dings were indeed caused by the lack of professionalism at J.R. Redding which I will share with those I meet, at every opportunity. I want to be happy with the now over $1200.00 I have spent to have this bed restored, but to be honest it is in worst shape then it has been in years. ss thI expect a full refund or you will see me in small claims court. Please feel free to call me to resolve this matter.
Description of Work: An antique bed in a natural finish was to be fully restored and painted to a yellow color I selected. Less than 90 days after the repair the rail broke and they would not cover it. I had to pay to have it picked up and repaired a second time. The second repair wentvery poorly. Please see the letter below after this 2nd repair sent to the manager Jose/and Mr. Redding. The end result was no refund what so ever, not even for the second "repair"
