+ 0 moreJohn did an excellent job! He responded to my email request the same day and provided a thorough estimate the following day. The job started immediately and was completed in a timely manner. He explained clearly what he intended to do and provided a timeline for the various stages in the work. He removed the old concrete, prepared and layed a new cement foundation and returned to stain and seal after the cement cured. I would definitely hire him again and refer him to our friends!
Description of Work: John and his crew removed our severely cracked cement basement floor,leveled the area, laid gravel, rebar and wire mesh. A cement truck came and his crew poured the concrete with a smooth finish. After it cured, John returned to stain and seal the concrete.

+ 0 moreOur driveway was badly cracked and every time it rained, water would run through it to our backyard. John's team tore out the old concrete, compacted it, put down mesh, cut in a drain, and poured new concrete. He added in enough of a curb to divert the water down the alley. Our driveway looks great, and our water problem is solved. Our patio was also badly cracked and ugly. John's team removed it and replaced it with stamped concrete. It wasn't an easy task, as there was no way a concrete truck could reach the patio. I didn't know how they would do it, but next thing I knew they were wheel-barreling it in through the gate in the fence. It was amazing to watch them work as a team. The patio turned out better than I could have imagined, and we've gotten lots of compliments on it. Before we selected John John Concrete, we had gotten 3 other bids. John's was the lowest bid and I was a bit of a skeptic. He initially had given me a ballpark quote just based off my measurements and pictures on email. But when he came to look at the job, he stood by his initial quote. We could tell by his scoping out the job and his questions, that we would be comfortable going with John. He gave us a date range of 4-6 weeks out, but called in about 3 weeks with an earlier opening. Once committed, he came exactly when he said he would, and he took extra care to stay out of the way of our exterior painters. We were very happy with John John Concrete and would definitely recommend him to anyone in need of concrete.
Description of Work: Replaced our driveway in the alley, and replaced a patio with stamped concrete.

Many others had said they could do things that John explained were not correct or good installations. He found damaged foundation from the first contractor i hired who pulled up the old patio and he was able to patch and repair this carefully with his job. He was punctual and delivered what he promised. He was willing to work with me on details and the end product was fabulous! I have been planting around the patio this summer and John it looks so nice! Everyone who sees it is very impressed and I will be sure to share your name. If I need anymore work done I will call you! + 0 moreJohn did a great job. I received four bids from various contractors in the area. John's was competitive. This was a small three day job. John was able to fit it in between his other jobs. Not only did he remove the existing concrete driveway, but he also removed a tree stump and many large tree roots that caused the original problem with the driveway. The final driveway looks great. I've received many complements from my neighbors on the final job and on his cleanup of the job site. I definitely recommend John's construction company for any size job.

John even came back after the job was finished and "fixed" some small scratches that we had made in the new concrete. We would recommend John and employe his services again.
Description of Work: John removed old concrete stairs and porch as well as a blacktop driveway. He poured a new concrete porch, stairs, driveway and a small retaining wall.

+ -1 moreWe had a mechanical room with the furnace and water heaters that had a partial slab. The rest of the space was dirt and completely useless to us. We decided to have the slab finished out so we could use the room as a shop or storage. We called John and he came out the next day and gave us a very reasonable estimate. We contracted with him to do the work. He brought in 2 loads of fill and leveled out the dirt floor. The access to the space was on the end of the house farthest from the driveway. We were concerned that the lawn would be damaged by all the wheelbarrow traffic up and down the hill (there had been considerable rain). But John did his best to minimize the impact to the lawn by hugging the perimeter. We were very pleased with that and appreciated the respect he gave our yard. The fill was done in on Friday and John came out on Monday to compact it and lay the rebar and wire mesh. The concrete arrived on Tuesday and the job was completed that day. He was always very prompt, courteous, and professional. We were very happy with the end result also. The room is great and we have John to thank for the great floor. We will definitely use him for any future concrete work.

He is about half way done and so far I have been very happy. We have had to make some significant changes to the original plans and john just adapts and overcomes.

+ 0 moreOverall I was disappointed with this company. I called John and got through to him the first time I called. I could tell he was busy and he asked me to text him my information and he would get back to me. I did that. Three days later I had yet to hear from John so I called him and left a message. He returned my call two days later. He did seem like he knows concrete and I am sure his work is probably good. He asked what I was looking to do and just through out a number over the phone without even seeing the job. His number was higher than anyone else that I had come out to look and he was the only one that was not willing to come look at the project. I'm not sure if he just threw out a high number without looking at it because he did not want a project so small. Either way I will never do business with someone who is not willing to come look at the scope of work and give me an accurate cost.

All in all we have been extremely satisfied with John John?s professionalism and his workmanship. We will use them again on a project we have later this summer. 5 Stars.
Description of Work: We needed to install some sidewalks in a very short time frame in order to construct wheel chair access ramps in and around the existing porch and steps in our Mother's apartment. She had fallen the week before and broken her hip. We have a large lot in a very rural area and needed to insure that when Mom recuperated that she had a place to come home to that she had complete access to. So we called John to request an estimate. John asked some pertinent questions about the conditions and the expected size/area and then said he’s call me back. John called me back within the day with a rough estimate and after some discussion we talked about availability for an actual site visit and discrete estimate. Scheduling worked out in our favor when John called two days later to say that he was free the very next day to start. We wanted to connect our ADU (M-I-L apt) with our primary home with a sidewalk for some time but the accident forced us into action sooner than we had planned. John and his crew showed up on time. This was a considerable surprise considering we live in a development that isn’t easy to find using GPS. It’s rural enough and new enough that most GPS systems do not recognize our address. After showing up on time, John and his Crew proceeded to lay out and prepare to install 150 feet of sidewalk 5 feet wide. We have a slight elevation change between buildings we wanted to ‘join’ with this project and John’s team did an excellent job making an almost natural transition between the separate elevations. John and his team arrived on time the next day to pour and work the concrete. John, after having to go out and lead the concrete truck drive back to our residence ( I did say it was very rural, right?) managed to save the pour and get 4 ½ yards of concrete poured on a 75 degree spring day.

+ -1 moreJohn had some excellent ideas to fix my patio that was poured by a Craigslist nightmare concrete contractor. We had already paid for the job to be done once and John did his best to come up with ideas that would help reduce the cost. The bid came in at a very reasonable price. Once we had signed the contract we had to deal with mother nature. John let us know where we were in line for getting the job completed. John and his crew came out on a day when they were unable to pour another job (because of weather) to get everything ready. John was very professional as he called to confirm it was OK to come out. Once forms were set and the weather cooperated the 1st pour was completed. Final touches were completed to the forms for the 2nd pour and the 1st good weather day it was completed. Each and every day John & his crew would clean up around the job site and ensure everything was picked up. After the last pour John came out the next day to ensure everything was OK and there were no surprises. We are waiting for the concrete to cure and the border will then be stained. We wish we had found Johns company prior to having the work performed the 1st time. I would recommend using John and his crew for any concrete needs you may have.

He was able to do the job over 3 days the following week, and was good about keeping me posted on the progress and letting me know his intended schedule. There were no surprises or "no-shows" like you get with a lot of contractors. The driveway came out nicely and really improves the look of our home. John an dhis crew did a great job finishing the concrete and cleaning up the area when they were finished. I would recommend him without reservation.

With rain being a concern, any delays were weather related which we appreciated. He made solid recommendations. He did not suggest doing anything more that was necessary. He was very honest, and we valued his professionalism and expertise.
Description of Work: Extended and poured new concrete patio with broom finish(slip resistant) for my elderly mother. Removed concrete steps, shortened height, used rebar reinforcement, recovered existing landing. This was a beautiful job. John was not only reliable, but we paid him the final amount prior to completion and he was honorable and completed the job timely and beyond our expectations.

+ -1 moreSione came by the day after I called to look at the garage floor. Right away he said he had the time to work on it. Him and a coworker busted the old garage floor out by hand in one day. He worked around my out of town schedule and finished up the whole process a couple days after I got back to town. He also put in the fiber instead of rebar. I could not have asked for a better experience with these guys. The quality is great and now I have a garage I don't mind spending time in!
Description of Work: Tore out old cracked and buckled garage floor, re-leveled, compacted and poured new floor. One car detached garage 14x18 foot. They also poured a small ramp from alley to garage about 14x4 foot and installed a drain.
