Description of Work: Cleaning of crawl space, removing old insulation. Re wrapping pipes, laying new vapor barrier. Needed to dig out under beams to tunnel through to far end of space. |First team did not do complete work; second crew sent out was successful. Company itself was great to work with as far as communication & prompt service. Their estimator, Marcel, was of considerable help & came back out to the worksite several times.

Description of Work: Estimater arrived on time and spend a good hour and a half to give a good estimate. Estimate was 25% less than 2 other bidders which were about equal. One estimated spent about 1/2 hour, the other about 15 minutes to estimate. Crew of Crawl Space Cleaning Pros arrived on scheduled time and spent two full days under the house. Old insulation and debris and vapor shield was removed. Heating ducting had fallen to the ground, this was raised and suspended from floor and repaired, sealed and insulated with R11. Floor was insulated with R25 and twine was interlaced on joists to hold in place. All access points for rodents was discovered and sealed with screen. Area was sprayed to repel new invasion. New vapor barrier was laid in place and secured with stakes. I had been under the house on occasion before and was disgusted with the condition. I went under there to inspect the job and am very pleased with the completeness and quality of work that was done.

 + -1 moreThis company was one recommended by PSE for their insulation rebate program for gas customers. We were very interested in them as they use a "green" produce called Airkrete. The estimator, Adam Martin, came to our home on Feb 8, and spent about 3 hours taking measurements for the bid, and said I would receive it in a few days. On Feb 25 I had still not received any information, so I called Adam who explained that he had been ill, and he would get it to me right away. By March 14 I still had no bid, so I called Aaron Gould who was listed as the owner and left a message. On March 24 I received an email from Adam with the bid (which was not on PSEs form), but just a total. I asked for a detailed bid. I then received a called from Richard Herron, who identified himself as the majority owner. He apologized for the delay in getting my bid and made promises to oversee the job himself and offered me several discounts. The original bid was over $10,000 (as compared to about $2500 for traditional insulation products), and the discounted bid was just over $8000. We tried to get other companies to bid for us using Airkrete, but no one else was familiar with the product. In the end we felt we could not trust this company to do a good job for us.
