This was a huge project and we knew it. We contacted too many electrical companies and in the end 6 came out to make bids. Out of those six 2 no showed, 1 said the work was above his capability that left three. We got three wildly different bids. For this much work one of the bids was three sentences long, with a low figure, we knew there would be lots of misunderstanding of what we wanted since it was not in writing and when I called for a more complete bid was told they charge for that. Another one bit the dust. The next one submitted a bid that was also not complete and then we couldn't get them to return our calls. Another one out one left. The third company did a thorough bid and we accepted only to have them no show. When we called they explained they lost a guy and had to put off the job for two weeks, we heard this time and again. Not sure if it would still be going on if we were willing to wait. Got referred to Elena Block of Block Electric. It is a wife/husband team. They bid the job, they were the highest bid but it was clear she did her homework before submitting it. We hired them on and crossed our fingers. The job was done in stages, they arrived on time when they said they would. Worked hard to get it completed and on more than one occasion had to get things completed/inspected with the local PUD, not an easy task but she accomplished it professionally and on time. They both even showed up when they were sick and worked in the rain digging and laying line. They were delightful to have on the property, professional and super competent. They were always willing to explain what they were doing and the why behind it. We will need them back for some additional work but in truth I am looking forward to having them rewire my 1934 house that also needs to be updated. Don't hesistate to give them a call - you will be thrilled to have them complete your work.
