+ -1 moreThis is an updated review. I requested 2 touchpads pads, got one. Apparently the install was too difficult. But I was still charged for the complete installation. The Sales Representative was supposed to cancel the service at my prior residence, it never happened. I have had to make 5 follow up phone calls and the service still has not been cancelled. I am presently looking into cancelling this contract and moving on to another security company.
Description of Work: Provided relocation equipment for security system in new home.

+ -1 moreThe basic quality of the equipment seems adequate, except that the central alarm unit generates a loud, piercing audio alert in the middle of the night roughly every two months. The late night alerts are generated for several nights running. Fortunately, I found the system manual and now know how to disable the audio alerts after the first night. The alarm panel displays the message "communications error". I've called ADT twice about this problem. Both times, ADT customer service had nothing useful to suggest. I requested a service call, but the technician didn't find any problems. He just replaced the batteries. ADT's automated voice response system is confusing and it is extremely difficult to reach an actual human. This is true even if you are calling their sales department to purchase additional equipment or services. On a positive note, when our alarm was accidentally tripped a few years ago, ADT did respond appropriately by calling our designated phone numbers before contacting the authorities.

+ -1 moreI told them I had to be somewhere at 445 today, so I asked them if they could show up before their expected 2-4pm time frame, and were able to come at 1:30. They even provided extra decals to put around the house. They were very professional. It was a great experience.
Description of Work: I got rid of my land line and decided just use my cell phone. They came out to install a box to make sure the security system isn’t attached to the landline.

Description of Work: I have three levels and a lot of glass and a lot of doors. He did a really good job, was very thorough and explained everything to me.

+ -1 moreThe worst customer service I have ever experienced over the phone. DO NOT fall into their sales trap. The company uses a lot dealers to sell it but really bad customer service because the people selling it to you NEVER would care what happens after you bought it. I hope Angie's list would not block my report just because ADT is a big company.
Description of Work: BAD customer service of ADT. Bought into a 3 year contract in Feb 2010. The sales rep was selling it door to door in our neighborhood. We were told of moving, we can carry the service and all the installation to the new place for free. That's the reason we bought it knowing we may moving in one year. But now when I called ADT to move over they charge me MORE money than a new customer, and locked me in the contract for a cancelation fee of $700 is I cancel it. THIS is a completely lie. When they sell it to you they promise everything just to sell it. But it is nothing close to the reality. They just try to lock you into the contract as long as possible. The representatives over the phone are very rude, and not professional, nothing like a customer service rep. They have REALY bad customer service once they lock you up. I have called them for certificate, and it never came to my mail. I simply can tell the people on the phone are simply a mess. I called to ask for a sign - she told me it was already requested and I should wait for 10 business days. But it was the first time I ever requested a sign replacement. What kind of record keeping was that??? I would NOT use ADT again and advice all the people I know to avoid falling into their sales trap. Bad bad customer service, they should be ashamed.

+ -1 moreMet the guy at a home show. He came and we decided to move forward with the new security system. The install took twice a long, but it all works great.
Description of Work: New alarm installation. They rewired an existing older system, and replaced it with their equipment. It took them 2 days to complete the work, but it all works great. No complaints.

+ -1 moreThey have been wonderful. They are a little pricey, but they are worth it. They have been very responsive, and the technicians are prompt and courteous. They return phone calls and are very communicative. We couldn?t be happier with their service and will continue to use them.

+ -1 moreI called them and the technician drove on a Saturday from Vancouver Washington and he had the installer and contract with him. He spent several hours with me and also said that he would install it right now if I wanted him to. Unfortunately it was 4 in the afternoon and he would have had to be there until 10, so I asked him to come on Monday. He came on Monday and he needed a different part, so he came back the following Saturday and spent hours testing it. The service has been phenomenal and he has also offered to come at any time if we want to change the configuration or add new contents.
Description of Work: We used Broadview Security 2 weeks ago and he installed a new security system.
