Achten's Quality Roofing

- Estimate was wonderfully detailed, with lots of pictures and observations - Scheduling took a bit (they must be busy, or something!), but they hit their forecasted window, and showed up as soon as weather allowed - BIG crew took care of the job quickly and efficiently. Nobody was standing around waiting for instructions. - Unanticipated finds (delaminated under-code plywood) quickly handled - Cleanup thorough and well done, double-checked by the project manager after the job was completed. - My family in the house was pleased and surprised that Achten's provided a porta-potty for the crew, avoiding half a zillion trips in the house required otherwise. - Results look good!

Everything went very smooth from the delivery of the materials, the removal of the old to the install of the new roof. Very professional and clean no mess.11

Had a really great experience working with Achten's Roofing. Got a complete re-roof done on a two story home during October 2017. The original roof on my 14 year old home was extremely poorly built, with visible rot leaks on the overhangs and mold in the attic. I contacted 8 local roofing companies and got quotes from 3 which responded and expressed interest, Achten's being one of those. Achten's was a referral from a good friend of mine, his brother used them for his roofing work and was also pleased with the results. Achten's was by far the most timely and professional from start to finish. The sales estimator showed up on time, multiple times, to first get an assessment, then answer all my question and guide me through the options. I was not pressured to buy unnecessary upgrades. Achten's pricing was surprisingly on par with its competitors. The variety of material options and professional service had me sold. The entire re-roof was done by 4 guys in just two days! Several friends I told were shocked by this, apparently this takes other companies / contractors weeks or months to do. The job did cost me several thousand over the original estimate. Once they tore off the old shingles more weather damage and poor construction was revealed. I was prepared for this beforehand and didn't stress too much about the added cost. 70% of the baseboard was replaced and I upgraded to the better plywood option while at it. Invest now, don't worry about it later. My home has a great looking, ridge vented, GAF roof with a 50 year warranty transferable to the next owner. We'll see how it holds up over time. I'm feeling comfortable about it so far. Jerry and Lisa were very helpful throughout the process. I promptly received many photos of the entire project to file with my home insurance company. It went beyond my expectations. I had two different company's, I don't know if I should name names but my number is 253 750 4720, call me and I will name names. The first company quoted me 40,000 to do the job, and the second 35,000. These prices would have caused me financial hardship. Achtens used a superior shingle and did the same job for 19,000. The workers were timely and the work was done to perfection (call me for photos). I am not a commercial, I am honestly happy with the work!

I would possibly use them in the future.

They are coming out next week for the work. No pressure, really explained everything. Didn't pressure to have to sign today, no strings attached. I can't think of anything for them to do different, it was straight forward. Their pricing was middle of the road, not too high or two low, that's why we went with them. The guy was here early and responded to me on a Sunday night even. Definitely professional.

Fantastic, it was great. They were really, really good. They were thorough. The estimate was accurate. They got the job done for the roof within one day. Fantastic.I prefer not to say the cost. They were great.

They promised an estimate within two days. It has now been a week and still no estimate. Their only explanation is that there has been lots of rain since October.

We had a great experience with Achten's when we needed our roof replaced in North Tacoma. They were able to schedule us relatively quickly, and the completed the job in two days. The crew cleaned up when they were done, and the roof looks great!

Had a new roof done by Achten's early in 2016. 16 months later, in my personal opinion, worst experience ever!!!! In one word....Unprofessional. I would personally suggest, that you do your homework, via Public Courthouse Records, in multiple counties, and such, prior to making a decision and signing any contract documents. I personally regret not digging deeper when researching various roofing companies, prior to selecting Achten's as my roofing contractor. In hindsight, I more than likely would have gone with another company. It's is impossible to get them to to respond to issues regarding water damage from leaks in my attic. As well as, to get them to complete the install per contract that I paid in full 16 months ago. I have weeks and weeks and weeks of documentation, trying to resolve issues with absolutely no response. I didn't hear a thing until I posted a negative review somewhere else yesterday. Their reply made it sound like I did not comply. It's hard to comply when they won't take your calls, respond to texts or emails. I noticed that when they respond to negative reviews, their responses all seem to follow the same modus operandi making the client look like the issue. Good luck!

Jerry Gamache was exceptional as my project manager from Achten's Quality Roofing. He coordinated every aspect of all these projects and was there every day to support the team. Jerry even communicated with my other contractor who built the patio cover to make sure the torch down roof was done on time. Jerry assured that everything was done properly in a timely manner. Nicolas Lara did a great job on the torch-down roof and the chimney repair. Luis Rey and his roof installers were fast and efficient. Milan followed to install the gutters and gutter guards. Everyone involved including the office staff, was competent, professional and respectful of my property. I am very pleased with the outcome of each of these projects and highly recommend Achten's Quality Rooffing for it's professional integrity and competency.

Superbly. My experience with roofs is infrequent & limited. Thus, I was pleased that Achten representatives addressed a long list of questions promptly, thoroughly & satisfactorily. Over the course of the project, Achten representatives consistently responded to inquiries promptly or with reasonable intervals. Achten's willingness to communicate meant zero surprises when installation day arrived. I chose GAF shingles and underlayment products because Achten technicians are GAF-certified. Materials delivery was better-than-anticipated because access to a neighbor's yard was coordinated. When the installation date arrived, the crew performed their tasks quickly, efficiently, professionally & safely. There were zero damages to my house, neighbors' homes or adjacent landscaping. Clean-up at the end of the day was thorough, carefully scrutinizing my yard for waste. I've been involved in several extensive home renovations since 2003. Of the many contractors I've engaged, Achten's Roofing rates in the top three for technical performance, organization, communication and execution. I would gladly recommend Achten's Quality Roofing for residential or commercial applications.

I had to turn in a BBB complaint and several complaints to other organizations to get the inferior job corrected and paid for right off the bat. It is a 10 year workmanship warranty with 30 year shingles. It has been 9 years and the roof is leaking in several places. If you want a real great roofing job done, don't use these guys. Really bad job. Check out the picture of the shingles...Quite the wave ha?

Achtens was one of three places that provided estimates for my roof. Although they weren't the cheapest option, they were by far the most knowledgeable and professional. The roof came with a 50 year warranty! Booking an estimate and getting put on their job schedule was a simple and intuitive process that relied on a mutual commitment between me and them. Bob was my sole point of contact throughout the job, so I didn't have to deal with the runaround when I had questions. I am a real estate agent that is always looking for high-quality contractors to keep in my black book. Achtens will be my number 1 roofing option going forward. They exceeded my expectations. Take it from a real estate agent: NEVER SKIMP ON THE ROOF! Do it right the first time. The value of the 50 year warranty is immeasurable. Regarding the lower reviews on this site: Most seem to be issues with the scheduling. That was far from my experience. I know that Achtens is very busy. They booked me a month out on this recent job. I strongly disagree with giving a company a 1-star review if no service was even rendered. It doesn't speak to the quality of the work at all. I got an estimate scheduled with one phone call. They stuck to their commitments. It was a bummer that it took a month to get out there, but that's typical for good contractors, and it was worth the wait. I checked in with them occasionally to make sure the weather wasn't affecting the timeline. I always got a straight answer within a minute. It took them 3 days to complete the job due to weather, but they kept me updated on the progress and changes.

They invoiced many extra 2-man hours without any back -up information to substantiate excessive related costs until asked, which was delayed 2 weeks, project manager on site at beginning, poor coordination and subsequent communication both verbal and written. In short, basically poorly and very unprofessionally handled. I would "NOT" recommend them.

We were very pleased with Achten's quality of work and service. Our job was done in a timely manner and the work was done very neatly. Our flowerbeds were left in the same condition as before they started! Everyone was courteous and helpful. We would definitely recommend Achten's!

After an exhaustive search for a roofing company to replace our 20 plus year old roof Achten's Quality Roofing won selection over 5 other contractors due to Achten's demonstrated professionalism and fair pricing. Jerry Gamache provided an exceptional detailed hands-on on-roof estimate (most other contractors never went on the roof for their estimate), multiple roofing options, and a super listing of client references. Jerry carefully managed the roof replacement and daily inspected the work in progress during the three day job. The work team was knowledgeable, experienced, and careful. Clean up during and at completion was through. The new roof looks great. We would not hesitate to choose Achten's Quality Roofing again.

We had a tree fall on the house in march in the windstorm. We had several estimates, we picked Achtens not on price but on the proffesionial way they handled everything,their suggestions and help with everything.

Needed two get a roof on a shared vacation property and our primary home this year, so I learned a lot about roofing. Researched a bunch of companies that were ranked as "Master Elite Roofers" who are certified to install GAF roofing systems that come along with a very impressive warranty. We liked most of the roofing reps we met and felt like their people would do a good job. But Achten's had provided detailed information, a very competitive price, the ability to pay by credit card at no extra cost, a reasonable date for completion and a rep that actually worked as a roofer for years. Combined with a good reviews, we decided to choose Achtens. They came when promised and did the job in one day, and it looks great. Most everything cleaned up well, and the rep, Darrin, came back to make sure we were satisfied. Our neighbor allowed us to use her driveway for loading materials and there was a minor mark left by the truck tires. Darrin promised to contact her and make sure she had all issues resolved. I recommend anyone interested in getting a proper roofing job to do their own research and get a few bids, but Achtens should be one of them.

Professional crew that installed an excellent looking roof.

Surpassed all my expectations for quality, workmanship, and professionalism. The job was scheduled around our families' busy schedule. Material delivery was quick. Job started the next morning and was completed in ONE day!! Complete tear off ,, a few new pieces of plywood,,,complete roof and a spotless clean-up. Outstanding!

We interviewed 3 reputable local Roofing contractors prior to awarding the job to Achten's Quality Roofing. Choosing a roofing contractor can be a daunting task. I had had pervious experience with another local roofing contractor 10 years ago, pretty much knew the sales pitch etc., and I knew the Hard Sell tactic, which I was not going to allow to sway my judgment. We choose Achten's Quality Roofing, because overall, we thought that Achten?s would be the best fit for us. Our roof was a very difficult roof with a very steep pitch and many dormers. We wanted all the obvious things like quality of workmanship & materials. We wanted the primo warranty. We also wanted a local company that used quality products like GAF Master Elite and didn?t take advantage of us. We especially liked the way that Gary Sparks presented himself and the company! Gary was full of great information; not pushy, very thorough, Very professional! Gary noticed many things that the other 2 bids did not address. We also liked the fact that Gary was available to us throughout the whole job. Gary made the whole process a pleasure! During the job there were a few serious issues found with the existing roof deck and they were quick to solve the problems in a timely manner! The Roofing crew was always punctual, extremely hard working and efficient! The thorough clean up every day was much appreciated as we have dogs. They did a phenomenal job! We are very pleased with the whole job and would recommend Achten?s Quality Roofing to anyone looking for a new roof! Their prices are more than fair. A pleasure to do business with them! We were in the process of selling our home and we needed to have our roof redone in order to go through with the selling. We were on a tight schedule and had a short timeframe to get it done. I called about 15 different roofing companies to get information on prices and availability. Most of them were rude and didnt even seem interested in gettting a job, or they were booked out 6 weeks, which was too long for us to wait. Prices were pretty similar throughout all the companies give or take a couple hundred dollars. We also needed specific things done in order to meet the requirements of our inspection. Not only was achtens a few hundred dollars cheaper than most the other companies, they were also very nice and worked so well with me to fit the job into their schedule to fit my needs. And they assured me that everything would be great for the inspection, which it was! And I dealt with the same man every time I called which was nice, because he always remembered me, he even remembered my dogs name! Achtens did a wonderful job, the roof looks great! It was affordable, they were fast and they worked with me to fit my schedule and needs! I recommended them to our realtor for her to recommend to other clients who may be in need of a roofing project!

The entire process went very well. Our sales contact was Gary Sparks. He provided very prompt response to all of our questions. The roofing crew worked was very organized and did a great job. The roofing crew consisted of 3 men for most of the work and it took 2 days to complete our 1400 square foot home. Other roofing companies may do the roofing faster, but speed does not always equal quality. If you compare warranties between Achtens and other roofing companies you will find that their warranty will not be matched. They provide a 20 year warranty on workmanship and a life-time transferable shingle warranty. They use GAF shingles which is from the largest shingle manufacturer in the US. Extra steps are taken during the roofing install to provide the life-time warranty. The shingles are secured to the roof with 6 nails (using air nailers) to allow for a 130 MPH wind warranty. Achtens present roofing includes a free 10 inch Velux solar tube, which we had installed in our main bathroom. Cleanup was immaculate. I received 3 roofing bids and learned thru the process that 'W' flashing should be installed in the valleys. As roofing ages it shrinks causes the roofing in the valley's to rise allowing for potential leaks. Using the 'W' flashing does away with that concern. Achtens also replaces attack vents with metal vents, other roofing companies use plastic vents which can later crack.

Took almost a week to make contact to set up a visit to get an estimate. We called Arek, our contact, to get details on the estimate and got,I don't know I visited a lot of houses yesterday. They have a 500 dollar minimum price to come out and do the work. Tried to get him to give us a day when they would do the work. After a few days got a verbal that the work would be done on Thursday. Thursday afternoon we called to find out how the work went and he told us that scheduling got messed up and they would be out on Friday. We called them on Friday to find out how the work went and was told, I don't know. On Monday we called and were told they did do the work on Friday and there was no flashing on the roof anchor so they fixed it. We asked they provide details of the repair, via an invoice. A few days later we were provided photos of the repair, but still no invoice. An invoice was provided a few days later showing the flashing kit was 60 dollars and the rest was labor, plus the sales tax. For a simple fix and their poor service, there prices are outrageous. For an emergency gushing leak from another provider 4 years prior, the cost was $300.
