I wish I hadn't picked Interlock and cannot recommend to others. Further research shows issues with leaking ridge vents. It started when I entered my attic after the installation to find glaring gaps under a poorly installed ridge cap/vent. Repaired, but I can still see daylight (where bugs and rain can enter) between my vent and the aluminum shingles. I asked installer to follow the Quarrix Ridge Vent installation instructions for sealing and fastener spacing and received a waiver of the lifetime warranty (if they followed the specs). Imagine that!? What's more, I found my kitchen had been venting into my attic for a year until I noticed they roofed over that vent. It's now fixed, but how many customers look for these things? (Shouldn't have to). Finally, solar panels are now skewed since my aluminum shingle rows "disappear" (not straight). It only takes the snap of a chalk line to ensure rows are straight and equally spaced. Lots of excuses for a "premium roof". Unhappy

The company was very informative and efficient, and we are happy with both the aesthetic and practical results. We are also happy to have a greater sense of security about the danger posed by fire, which has been a worry because we live in a forested area far from emergency services. The workers were polite and professional and cleaned up the site pretty well. It was expensive, but we're very satisfied with the work.

Once the project was scheduled, it was handled professionally and completed in a timely manner. The quality of the work was excellent, but very expensive. It was helpful that there was no deposit. Payment was made in full upon completion and the grounds around the house were thoroughly cleaned of materials. Calls to customer service were uniformly unsatisfactory. I finally was able to find a workaround telephone number to communicate directly with the local office.

I really like the roof I have on my house. It really stands out as a nice roof in my modest neighbourhood. I went with Interlock because the company uses the thickest gauge aluminium, has one of the best warranties, easy to maintain, is lead-free for future rainwater collection, and offered standing-seem for my solar array installation. An added benefit is that the roof qualifies for some energy efficiency tax rebate. Interlock sales and HQ people worked with me when I went back and forth on getting a tubular skylight. When I did decide to get my own SolaTube, they charged me a fair price for installation. The work crew guys were pleasant. They brought extra material to my house. When I saw something I didn't like, they replaced it without hesitation. I asked, and they said that they only do Interlock installations. One of they guys started eating a weed that was growing in my yard which I had been trying to identify for months. He told me the name and it was in one of my favoured plant species, sorrel! What serendipity! To top it off, when I notified them that the natural gas guy inspected my venting and said to change it, the repair man came down and fixed it for me. No charge no hassles! I sure hope that my next 50 years with Interlock are as smooth as the first

Meg at Interlock called me on 5/26/16 and we scheduled a time for an estimate at my house on 6/1/16 at 5pm. I took off work early to meet them for the estimate. At 5:00 on the dot, I receive a call from Meg at Interlock saying she was calling to schedule a time to to come out and give an estimate. I say, "Yes, I'm here, we have an appointment scheduled for today." She then tells me "Oh, you must be mistaken, are you sure you didn't schedule with another company?" Me:"No, I talked to you last week, and we scheduled for today at 5:00. How is it just a coincidence that you happen to be calling me right at 5?" Meg: "No, I don't have anything down for today, you must be mistaken. We can schedule something for this Saturday though." At that point I told her I was not interested in there services if they can't even keep track of an appointment. It'd be one thing to call up and say they made a mistake that they can't make the appointment, apologize and ask to reschedule, but very unprofessional to play dumb and tell me I must be mistaken. I don't care to do business with a company that operates that way.
Description of Work: Interlock called me after I made a request on their website and we scheduled a time for them to come out and give an estimate on replacing my roof. They then failed to show up for the appointment.

It went very well. First we met with the District Sales Manager, who covers both Oregon and Washington to discuss the project. He explained the product and answered our questions and comments about the roof and provided a estimate. The roofing material is an interlocking T-felon impregnated coated aluminum shingle. It is an expensive material but since it has a lifetime warranty and high ratings for wind and hail, we thought that the price was acceptable. We accepted the estimate and set an approximate start date. Very close to the approximated start date, the materials were ready for delivery and the installation date was confirmed. The installers arrived on the confirmed date and time. They were very professional and diligent about their work. They cleaned up at the end of each day. They were also very open about any questions, comments or concerns that we had. They were as concerned as we were about a quality job done right. It was a big job and it was estimated to take about a week. They completed on schedule. Everyone we spoke to or worked with on this project made sure that they kept in contact with us and that we were happy with the end product.

Professionalism of the installer and quality of his work- Great. Couldn't have asked for better. His name is Vladimer. Communication- So so. Wasn't I able to get through and talk to a person without leaving a voicemail. It almost always took at least several days to get a response to voicemails or emails. I was told I would be gotten back to approaching the installation date when I emailed for actual installer contact info, but never was. It took two phone calls the day prior to finally get someone to call me and confirm the installation time the next day. Price. I was charged very close to $1,000/square materials and installation not including tax. I was charged $750/square eight years ago for the original installation and materials. Factoring in CPI this would equate to about $860. When I questioned the amount, I was told it was because an increase in alluminum prices, but a check of alluminum commodities historical data shows alluminum lower than it is now, not even adjusting for inflation. I fully understand I am in no way entitled to purchase a roof at a price I decide on. This is obviously a contractual agreement. But I feel as they knew I had no choice but to install the same roof as this is an extension of my existing roof, this may have been a factor in the price. I have no evidence of this obviously. They will not just sell you the materials and let you find a contractor. They have training for their approved contractors (good), but maintain a very tight hold on them.

We have a large roof-around 2500 SF of roof. They estimator (Jonathan) came out on time and was very helpful, even making a second trip to show us another product so we could compare colors. We ended up going with the gray "slate" style aluminum roof. It took about three weeks to install end to end but there was a week of hard rain in the middle. We had the expectation that a metal roof on our home would cost us over $60,000 so we were very happy with the value we got for this awesome "lifetime" roof. We also had thought that our only real option for a metal roof would be the usual standing seam you see all over the place on buildings and occasionally on more contemporary or craftsman transitional homes. We wanted metal but we know our home style couldn't support standing seam. So when we found interlock we were pretty thrilled. Now the roof is on and we couldn't be happier. We are in the Pacific Northwest where it rains a LOT and we notice no additional noise from it on the metal. Also, we were able to save money and also payload to the landfill but having the interlock materials installed directly over our old composition roof which was still in tact but was what I would classify as "pre-fail." As for cooler indoors, we had it done during one of our hottest summers and I will definitely attest that it keeps things cooler. I'd say it shaves about 2-3 degrees off our home interior. It made a difference we could feel, but is no substitute for AC. Our installer -- big Vladimir -- was awesome. We have a very pitched roof so it wasn't a project for the faint of heart--very high and a difficult roof to walk. But after so many years of experience and extreme competence, Vlad walked around up there like he was strolling the park. He was very safe and super fast -- doing most roofing days alone or with one mate and he would show up at 8AM and work until it got dusk. He is super upbeat, funny and cool so his presence around the house during the project was a pleasure. Both our sons got a kick out of going around to ask him questions and watch him. It was actually all kind of fun for the family. We are a fan of Vlad! And, we are a fan of interlock, and I'm even trying to find a way to get it on my Dad's house in Arizona due to the

We wanted a roof that would last a lifetime. We saw some other roofs out there at home shows, like the rubber roof, and we did not like the look. We wanted something that would look good and last a lifetime. Our company rep, Ross Peterson, explained the product and the financing to us, and we made the decision to go with interlock. Ross was great and really helped us make a good decision. We are very happy. We think the roof looks great, and the installation crew was awesome. They got it on quick and were very professional and responsive to what we wanted. We would use Interlock again and would recommend them to anyone looking for a good company and a lifetime roof. We love the warranty, and when we get ready to sell the home it will be transferred to the next customer. The neighbors have asked us about it too, and when they are ready we think they'll go with Interlock.

The quality and timeliness of the work was outstanding. The crew was pleasant and very, very hard working. They left the place nicely cleaned up (and it was pretty messy work) There were some hitches in responsiveness but if I can belevei them they were in the process of moving offices. Their selling techniques leave a lot to be desired in todays world. Had I not been pre-sold on the product I would have probably been turned off by the selling methods. (I have a long career inolved with selling big ticket products) This is an expensive product but has a very long guarantee by a Canadian company that has been around a very long time. Bottom line, a multi peaked roof that has been problematic for many years has gone through a winter in perfect shape and all problems are gone. The roof looks beautiful and performs as promised.

The salesperson showed up on time and gave the usual sales pitch about the awesomesness of the product.
Description of Work: I only had a roofing quote done for my house. Interlock quoted approximately $30000 (with a number of limited time offers) to replace my roof. This was without removing the old roofing. I know it doesn't translate exactly to roofing square footage but this is for a basic 1550 sq ft. rambler. This was way too expensive for me and I was warned against having this type of roof placed over the existing roofing.

Hello [member name removed], It is true that our sales team believes in the product and is always excited to share it with homeowners. Sorry to hear that the quote was not what you expected. Our Aluminum roofs are designed and produced to last a lifetime, so the value is different from average roofs. Keep in mind that our quotes consider not only the square footage, but also the roof design and structure, including all trims necessary to deliver a high-quality installation. The placement over pre-existing roofs is also something to be considered case-by-case. When you start planning to re-roof, please consider Interlock again. Carlos

I did not go with them because of the price, which was number one and number two; I did not get the written statement of work from them I just got a figure. I would probably not use their services for estimation in the future.

Mark from Interlock Industries came out to my home as requested and explained to me in detail all about Interlock Industries. He showed me photos as well as the actual underlayment and metal which would be used for my roofing job. Some of the photos were very impressive: In one photo, an entirement development was burned to the ground with only one house left standing (the one with the metal roof). Interlock Industries replaced my composite roof with metal shingles coated with The Alunar Coating System. The underlayment that they used was of very high quality (High Performance Roofing Underlayment) somewhat similar to seal skin. I was very impressed with Interlock and their metal roof. The underlayment and metal extends 3 to 4 inches up into the side wall as well into the gutter system. Mike and his brother also cut into the roof and replaced my air vents with a ridge vent system which produces a much better cooling system for the attic from what I have researched on the internet. Interlock Metal roofs locks into all 4 corners and can withstand winds up to 165mph by using 2 inch high quality screws over nails. All of the screws are covered up by overlapping metal over metal. Interlock communicates very well with their customers. I have e-mailed them as well as called them and they have always replied immediately with an answer to any of my questions and/or concerns. I would recommend Interlock Industries to anyone who would like a roof that will last a lifetime. Backed up by a 50 year non-prorated transferable warranty, you just can't go wrong. By the way, The Roof Looks Awesome........... :-)

Roof repair and replacement. Our roof, which was asphalt, was damaged in a recent storm. Given age (15 years) and the beginning signs of future trouble (lifting shingles), we decided to replace. We asked for bids from a variety of steel and aluminum roofing vendors. Interlock, being aluminum, was the most expensive. However, their 50 year warranty did the trick. The steel roofs warranties expicitly excluded rust if any field cutting was done (field cutting is normal during installation). There were no conditions on the warranty for interlock. The materials arrived approximately 3 weeks after the contract was signed. The work began within days after the materials arrived. The crew was prompt and very professional. They did an excellent job with the installation (the roof is beautiful), and cleaned up after themselves after the end of each day.

Two people came out for the estimate, the main salesman and a guy who specialized in efficiency or something (the product is EnergyStar rated). We negotiated a price, but we were not certain what color we wanted, which could affect the price. We obtained a list of houses that had the product. They were fairly spaced apart so it required quite a bit of driving. Two and a half weeks later we met with the salesman to choose the color and I negotiated down the price a little more. Originally they said that they didn't expect to do our roof until the end of November, but surprised us calling about 6 weeks sooner than that and saying they wanted to start the next day. As we were planning to be out of town over the weekend, we put them off until Monday. A crew of two people tore off the roof and installed the new one. They were very professional and good natured. They even showed up when we had an arctic blast of cold air. With one big storm 3 branches actually punctured the roof. They had not yet finished the roof and repaired the damage without charge. Other than some weather delays, the biggest hold up was the skylights. Even though they had plenty of notice, the manager did not actually order the skylights until after they had already started working on the roof. One extra large skylight was particularly problematic. When the roofers went to pick it up, they discovered a problem with the seal, so a new one had to be ordered. Apparently there was a problem with that one too, and they ended up getting it from another company. They did not finally finish until 40 days after they started. This was fine with me since I didn't have to actually pay until a set number of days after they finished and it gave me more time to refinance, but I think it was unprofessional because the manager never called to apologize or explain the situation. Our prior skylights had all failed. One of the roofers said there was enough water in one that we could put a fish in there! The new ones look good. The roofers pointed out that our prior skylights (~27 years old) had not been installed correctly and they partially damaged the frame pulling it out (which they repaired). Also we asked them about replacing the gutters. I was interested in covered gutters. The manager gave me a quote and said he would have the roofers show me a sample of the product, but they never did, despite a couple of reminder calls. I finally decided to go with another company for the gutters. The roof itself looks great, and I hope it will be as maintenance free as advertised (lifetime guarantee, 50 years transferable). One issue is noise. It's definitely a little louder when it rains, though I was told it would not be. It's not particularly unpleasant and I still think we made the right choice it roofing material, it's just that we were led to believe it would not be louder. We were told we could save a few thousand dollars by putting the shakes it on the skip sheathing we had, rather than first applying plywood or particle board. I think perhaps it would have been quieter had we gone with the additional covering. We plan to upgrade the insulation in our attic from R30 to R49 which I expect will help with the noise, and besides save energy, is cheaper than the plywood would have cost.
Description of Work: Our wood shake roof was removed, Roofguard material was applied, aluminum shakes were installed, and all 8 skylights were replaced. In addition a membrane was applied for a small flat part of the roof that had been covered with torch down.

First let me state that I am a woman in my late 40s living in a very nice neighborhood who is obviously no dummy. I didn't get beyond the two sales guys. One was obviously the contractor who would do the installation and was okay except that he kept asking when they could meet with my husband. But the other was a neanderthal who actually had the gall to suggest that I could apply as his secretary after I told him I owned my own successful Internet business for over 10 years. Then when I was about to pat him on the shoulder to say something like "I did that 20 years ago" he grabbed my wrist and twisted my arm. Even though they said they would touch base the following Tuesday I never heard from them again. I could probably cause a lot of trouble for them but I don't have the time to waste.
Description of Work: The were at my house to quote a new roof but they didn't even get on the roof to see if it needed one.

Hello [member name removed], Let me start out by apologizing for this unacceptable behaviour. This is completely NOT aligned with our company values. We train and monitor the sales team and crew to be respectful, kind and ethical and I am truly sorry that your experience was so unpleasant. We forwarded your complaint internally to prevent it from happening again on any of our service areas. Best regards, Carlos

Both projects went well, albeit a few minor issues arose during each one. As I said above, we had bad weather during the roof install, so it delayed the project a few days during a very cold time in December. But it was too dangerous for the crew to be on the roof, so Mother Nature was to blame. The only issue I recall from the windows project is that once my dining room slider was installed, I realized it opened from the wrong direction. So the company ordered us a new one and it took longer than we anticipated to get the right one, but it came in, they installed it, and we're thrilled. All the windows look great.
Description of Work: We were about 6 months away from having roof failure, when we met with a representative from Interlock. We had put a lot of thought into going to a metal roof, instead of staying with composition. We learned a lot from the rep and signed a contract a week later. About 6 weeks after that, an Interlock crew arrived to begin removing our old composition roof. It took a little longer to finish the job than anticipated, because we had really bad weather (rain and ice build up) but when it was all done, we had a gorgeous metal roof. (This was done in December of 2009) At the same time we discussed roofs, we asked about windows, since we were having failed windows on some double panes we had installed about 7 years ago. We signed a contract for new windows and sliders at the same time as the roof contract. About a month after the roof was done, a different Interlock crew arrived to begin that project. These windows and sliders were triple pane. They turned out fabulous, especially my dining room slider. It is so beautiful. Three of our window sills had issues, and the crew did some great trim/casing work to fix those problems (even though they weren't to blame for those problems).

Hi [Member Name], We appreciate your kind words. Your testimonial brings out one of the main reasons why Metal Roofs are so reliable. They can stand severe weather including snow, rain, hail and strong winds without curling, cracking, rotting or splitting. Our roofs are great in fire hazard areas, since they are non-combustible and are class "A" fire rated available. Special coating processes make them highly resistant to dirt and environmental aging. Our crews across North America work hard throughout the year to install the Interlock Roofs, protecting families and properties. At the same time, we have to look after the installer’s safety and make sure your roof is built to last. Thanks for your understanding. Carlos

I ran across Interlock at the 2/10 Flower & Garden show, and actually was in the market for new windows. The woman at their booth was great and I agreed to have an in home demonstration. 2 managers showed up and their presentation was professional and educational demonstrated being ahead of the curve in technology / energy efficiency. There was no hard sell and no "for one night, and one night only" pitches (or they would have been tossed out on their ears). I thought their product sold itself - plus the lifetime guarantee & 47% guaranteed energy saving didn't hurt either. I purchased them and was told it would be @ month to be manufactured which was fine with me as I was not in any great rush. The installation supervisor came out a day or so later to take precise measurements, discuss all points of the installation process, and take an 'honest' interest when I expressed concern about some of my prize plants being damaged (they weren't). Then sure enough 1 month later they were in and we scheduled installation for the next week. I am so impressed with the 2 guys who did my installation. Honest. They were on time, very polite and considerate, professional w/ a sense of humor and most imPORtantly knew their stuff. Between just the 2 of them over the course of 4 days they did all of the steps I listed above, and did it well! And, during which 2 of the days we had nasty, rainy weather (one of them needs to be outside, remember.) As to cost - yes it might be considered a bit steep, however the up side is I am also not going to be replacing ANY windows in 15 years (or sooner). The only downside I have to report is that my accountant has requested a more itemized list of the pricing and discounts that comprised the total purchase. To date I have made 2 requests to for this; 1 to the phone operator & one to my salesman and have not received this information - hence the only reason for the low marks on responsiveness. Guess I'll get on that again.

IT WAS AN EXPENSIVE PRODUCT. IT HAS PERFORMED REALLY WELL, AND I AM REALLY HAPPY WITH THE PRODUCT AND MY DECISION TO GET IT. I THINK THEIR CENTRALIZED MANAGEMENT WAS REALLY POOR. IT WAS HARD TO GET IN CONTACT WITH SOMEONE. I WOULD GIVE THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE AN F. I NEVER GOT ANY SATISFACTION WITH THE CUSTOMER SERVICE. THE GUYS WERE GREAT AND VERY PROFESSIONAL. I THINK THE CUSTOMER HAD TO WORK HARDER THAN I NEEDED TO.
