The Linoleum Shop

It was a nightmare and still is! First, the wood floor was installed incorrectly and buckled. My floor was a trampoline! Carusos (Previoulsy known as The Linoleum Shop) made the decision to remove the incorrectly installed wood floor, scrape the glue off the bottom, and have it reinstalled. This process severely damaged the boards, more wood flooring had to be ordered, and then boards had to be removed again due to severe cracking and damage. After months of being displaced from my home and dealing with setback after setback, the floor was installed, but 75% of the boards were damaged in some form. Now, a year later, areas of the floor are bouncing, boards are uneven and lipping, and cracked boards are peeling. Carusos refused to honor their 5 year installation warranty and have refused to even come to the house to evaluate the floor. Basically, incompetent workmanship caused the problems, and unethical and dishonest business practices continue to plague Carusos. I wish I never would have purchased flooring from Carusos, they ruined my floor.

The Linoleum Shop was the highest bid, but I chose them over several others because of their positive reviews and I felt comfortable that the contractor knew what he was talking about. The staff at the shop were very accommodating at helping me pick out tile samples to take home and lug them out to my car. They even helped me pick out the grout. I had them put LVT with grout over existing tile that was a little and quot;iffyand quot; with high spots. The areas involved was the hallway, bathroom and utility room. Total square footage was around 225 or so. There were a lot of cutouts and narrow areas to do and they had to move around a washer, dryer and large refrigerator...kind of tricky. It took a whole day just to level all areas using and quot;Ardek and quot;(not sure of the spelling). The next day they leveled some more and started putting down the tiles. All in all, it took 3 days. The installers were the best. They arrived on time, worked quickly, efficiently and did a splendid job. They were polite, kept their music low and were fun to have around. They took pride in their work and the final product showed good workmanship. I couldn't believe how much better the floors looked. We are updating our home to eventually sell and will certainly call them again when we are ready for another updating project! Highly recommend.

The sales reps brought over samples of various flooring to see what would work best with the layout and entryway and had it installed on schedule before I moved into the house. I've used Linoleum shop several times over the years and am always happy with their service, work and products. I'm not sure if what I put as the price is accurate since it's been awhile since I had this done. I was on a schedule for moving because I needed to be into the house before Thanksgiving; and all the work was done on schedule. Glad to have them as a local business (now known as Caruso's floors)

Excellent company to work with. A little spendy, but with the service you get, it was well worth it. Beautiful showroom with everything you would possibly want to look at. Kirsten the sales person helped us pick colors out by listening to us talk about what we would like (even though we didn't know). Larry the installer was fabulous, installed a good size kitchen/dining room with a partial island with no seam (one piece), the guy is genius and very pleasant to work with. We will do busiess with them in the future!

Great experience, I worked with Kirsten. She answered any and all questions expertly and helped me to find right products for my purpose. She set up initial inspection and coordinated the install. Very easy to work with. Very happy with the quality of the work. After seeing the job they did in the bathroom and laundry area, I'm just a little sorry I didn't have them install linoleum in the kitchen as well. The did a GREAT job on the linoleum and the carpet was installed perfectly. The Linoleum Shop worked around my schedule and gave me all the help I needed. Thanks!

Very professional as well as knowledgable. The saleslady was very nice and attentive even though I was only shopping for a remnant. I will definately be calling them when I'm ready to do more.

We haven’t settled on a particular wood type and we have to get back to them on that to get an estimate. We have dealt with them before and our interaction was fine. They were good to deal with. We would tell other members that they have been around for some time and are pretty well-established and that was one of the things that kept us going back to them. Their prices were a little on the higher side.

Although the project did not go exactly smooth, I give the Linoleum shop an A because they treated us well, and made sure the project was not considered "finished" until we were happy. We got a good price on the floor by selecting it during their anniversary sale. We picked colors and were ready to go but then found out the colors we picked were discontinued. The salesperson, Erin, was very helpful and helped us pick out some alternate colors. Then we found out those were discontinued too! This situation was the fault of the flooring company, not the Linoleum shop. Erin was able to locate enough of one of the discontinued colors at a warehouse in another state and secure it for us, so we picked another color to complement it and we are happy with our choice. The next bump in the road came when the floor was installed. The installation was done well, and the installer took the time to make sure the subtle pattern of all the tiles went in alternating directions, I appreciated this attention to detail. A few days after installation ridges started appearing where the seems in the underlay were. I called the linoleum shop, through the process both owners of the shop, the installers, and the rep for the underlay company were all out at my house. There attitude was "you will have a floor you are happy with no matter what the cost". We fortunately had some extra tiles and they were able to thoroughly repair the floor and get rid of all the ridges. They also took the cost of the extra tiles that were used for the repair off of our bill. All in all, I am very pleased with how the situation was handled. It is one thing for a project to go smooth and to be happy with it, but when problems arise the true test of a good company is if you are still happy in the end. I can't help but think we wouldn't have gotten the same service from a large chain that we got from this reputable local store.

They worked with me long-distance and even sent me a picture of the product on my phone, since we live out of the area. They were able to fit us into their schedule quickly and did extra prep work, as the base molding in our older home had just been painted. The project turned out very nice.

I had a contractor finish my basement storage room and he used The Linoleum Shop, Inc for the carpet. Erin Condon was my sales rep and she did a fantastic job. She called me as soon as she received the request and set up a time to show me carpet samples. Based on what I had briefly mentioned to the contractor, she already had several samples picked out for me but had it nailed with the 1st sample! I really did not even need to take a sample home with me but I did anyway. The contractor finishing the room botched the installation date and made it for a week later than what we had agreed. This completely destroyed my schedule because I had already taken off work with anticipation that the carpet was to be installed in a few days. I called Erin Condon on the original delivery date and she verified that it was set up by the contractor for the wrong date. I then asked if she could find someone to install anytime during this week. The schedule was completely booked but within an hour, she called back and said a team would be by the following day at 08:30. I got a phonecall the next morning as promised from Shad and Dave. They verified my install and address and then called a few minutes later to update me that they were running a little bit late because they had to go to the distributor for the padding. These guys were very professional and did a bang up job. They took great care when entering my house with their shoes, picked up after themselves and Shad walked me through the job after he was all finished. I couldn't ask for more. They met the level of professionalism and skill that I expect. Hands down, if you need new carpet, go with The Linoleum Shop, Inc. The original company that did the rest of my house was United Floor Covering and the did a horrific job. They installed the carpet for my entire house in the dead of winter and never bothered to turn up the heat or return another day after the heat was on. Suffice it to say, I developed ripples so high you can surf on them. I had them come by to fix their mistake and the guy came missing his tools and asked me for a 2x4?? Then he made up some story how he just could not fix any other areas because it was impossible and that the little he did was it. As previously stated, I highly recommend The Linoleum Shop, Inc and not United Floor Covering unless you are creating a reason for you significant other to divorce you.
