Description of Work: He came out, talked to us, seemed knowledgable and said he would prepare a quote. We called twice, and both times were told he was working on it, but we never got a quote.

Description of Work: I purchased a coupon for an estimate, with the balance applying to the project. Simon was prompt, courteous, and professional. He explained the quote, provided it promptly with drawings and was very helpful in understanding the project. Unfortunately, we ended up not doing any remodel at all, due to unforeseen changes in our family situation. However, I will not hesitate to use Simon's Construction in the future if we are in a position to do the remodel later.

Description of Work: Simon Way had a good carpenter and the project was constructed well. There were some minor communication problems but otherwise the job was finished on time and was to my satisfaction.

Description of Work: Mr. Simon made a good effort but we have nothing to show for the $49 Angie's List took from him.

Description of Work: I contacted this Contractor and requested an estimate done on my house for a massive project. I did inform him prior to estimate due date that I would be getting multiple done for reasons due to Construction loan from bank. And the minute he heard that he all but told me he did not want the job.

Description of Work: Simon seemed very interested in our kitchen and bath remodel at first, but then called to say he was too busy to take it on and that he didn't really have a lot of experience with kitchens in old houses. He did recommend someone else, a cabinet builder, but that guy said he didn't usually do big remodeling projects. I was disappointed with the way Simon seemed to drop our project.

Description of Work: Unfortunately, this provider took on more than he could handle and had stress related medical issues. All services were slow and the provider expected me to fake interest in a company's cabinets so they would do the drawings. I have still not received the final email he was to send.

Description of Work: Was scheduled over the holidays so can understand how gets all mulled up. Some trouble connecting, on my side as we well. I was Looking for a personalized draft for kitchen remodel. Did not have opportunity to really discuss any changes. Very nice professional service, just did not fulfill my needs for design.

Description of Work: Simon's Construction tore off an old wood deck down to the beams, reinforced it, built a new composite deck with all new fascia and stairs. This company offered the best in customer service and quality workmanship. Simon personally met me at the supply showroom to help choose materials and offered expert suggestions. He helped save me costs on very pricy composite materials by suggesting a "picture frame" edge so he could use full-sized boards with little or no waste. Simon went out of his way to keep in touch from start to finish. He is extremely responsive, listens well, and very much wants the customer to be pleased with the finished product. And I am extremely pleased. I will never have to paint or stain my deck again! It is made from Azek composite deck materials with hidden fasteners, Trex posts and Trex railng. And James, the lead craftsman, did a beautiful job! He was not only pleasant, respectful, and diligent, but it is easy to see that he really cares about the quality of his work and making sure the customer is happy. He takes into account, not only the aesthetics of the final result, but also structural integrity and ensuring solid craftsmanship. The job site was spotless when the job was complete too. It is not easy to find a contractor or crew that has more pride of workmanship and willingness to do a top quality job for a fair price. This major improvement to my home will be enjoyed for decades. Description of Work: We paid the $50 fee for "design consulting" and estimate. It was said they would help design our new bathroom which was appealing as we wanted an outside perspective. When he arrived we were told that they don't really do design but could provide an estimate. That is something we could get for free from dozens of other contractors. Because of his new Angie's list business, he was really backlogged and even his estimate took weeks. I blame myself, but also the contractor and Angie's List for not screening the contractors offerings.

Description of Work: Simon advised me on possibilities for updating my kitchen to make better use of the space. I didn't want a bid because I anticipate the work will not be done for about three years. He listened to my ideas and answered my questions carefully. He treated me with respect even though I wouldn't be hiring him at this time. I will keep his business card for future reference.

Description of Work: Bathroom remodel. It was more expensive than I anticipated but James that did the work was excellent.

Description of Work: Bid, drawings, parts list. The first time they came to the house and took measurements and we talked about what we wanted. They gave suggestions and then sent us a drawing. The second time they came with the bid and walked us through the project. We are not going ahead at this time, because we have two other projects going. We would recommend Simon to anyone. We thoroughly enjoyed the time and the product we received from him.

Description of Work: They did a great job! I wrote a considerable amount here and this site somehow lost it and brought me back to the beginning. I'm not going to re-type several long paragraphs again. To all those reading this: SCS did outstanding work with both the company itself and with its sub-contractors. James is the SCS "construction technician" (my words, because he is a consummate professional technician, not "just" a carpenter), he does some of the best work I have seen in 40 years of doing it myself, hiring, and observing. The subcontractors were also some of the best; Simon has assembled a crew of good, professional people that do excellent work. SCS prices are a little higher, but if you want to be proud of the way your house looks and not worry about whether the work is going to last, hire these people!
