I have been using Oakenshield for about 7 years. I have never experienced any issues with tardiness or unprofessionalism. Price is standard for industry and their attitude is above and beyond expectations. I highly recommend their services.

Excellent! Very professional, explained everything he was going to do before he started. Since there was a lot of snow on the roof he cleaned our woodstove from inside the house. He wore booties to protect our carpet and worked efficiently to get the job done. There was absolutely no mess at all. We were scheduled on 12/27 but because they had a cancellation on the 19th we were able to have a very cozy warm xmas! I would definitely hire them again!

Cleaned my two chimneys so they could be in good, safe working order. Checked the third (from old oil furnace) and confirmed it was sealed up (great job furnace provider!). Also made sure my dampers were not needing repairs. One did not close prior to cleaning. Showed up a few minutes early, which is "on time". Completed job in just over an hour. The chimney had been damaged from a tree that had fallen on the roof during a wind storm and they were very quick to go inspect and give me the condition report and work proposal. The inspection was done on 1/25/15 and the work was completed on 1/30/15. I talked to Tim Swartout and he was very nice, professional & communicative throughout the whole process. I even received before/after pictures when the job was completed. I am extremely happy with the work ethic and professionalism from Oakenshield Chimney Service and highly recommend them to anyone needing work done on their chimney.

Mark was really great to work with. Showed up on time, courteous, professional and careful to keep things clean. The house we were buying just had new carpet installed. Mark was careful in protecting the carpet around the wood stove and the fireplace, he even removed his shoes whenever he entered the house. He did a thorough job of cleaning the two flues and inspecting them. His inspection revealed that one flue had hairline cracks from top to bottom, so was unsafe to use the one fireplace. I was really grateful to know that. I'm very pleased and happy with the service Mark provided and the job he did. Highly recommend!

This company was great. We had an appointment to meet at the house at 1 pm. I arrived about 12:45. He was already working on the inspection when I arrived. Very professional and very knowledgeable on building codes and the proper installation of wood stoves. He cleaned the stove and when he was done wrote a full report that I could give to my insurance agent to verify the stove was safe and up to code. He was profesional and kept the work area clean through the whole process. I would recomend this company to anyone needing chimney cleaning services.

I was so impressed with this company! I highly recommend Mark for any chimney or fireplace needs. You could tell he had a passion for what he does and he is very good at it! He arrived on time, explained the procedure and what he was going to do and gave recommendations for his findings. No sales pressure, just helpful information and a clean fireplace and chimney! He spent about an hour inside and outside on the roof of the house (note, this was December...cold and icy!) so I felt the fee of $139 was more than reasonable for the service we received. He will be our go-to fireplace guy from now on.

We are repeat customers of Mark, and this is the second review I have written for Oakenshield. He arrived on time, laid protective coverings on the floor all the way to the door, and got to work. Minor adjustments to stove pipe; discussed suggestions for future replacement needs. And as always, left the space cleaner than he found it. We highly recommend Mark for his professional skills and manner. Though the entire family was home during this year's visit, I appreciate the fact that, as a woman, I have always felt extremely comfortable having him work in our home whether alone or with the kids home. Professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and excellent to work with.

Oakenshield was extraordinarily professional. Mark was on time, took off his shoes when entering our home, spread covers to protect floors, didn't make a mess, and removed a lot of soot. He cleaned our wood stove, its glass, and vacuumed its inside. Mark provided a great deal of information on proper operation of the stove, and the ideal wood to burn. He charged $159 which was his quote when the appointment was made. I would recommend him unconditionally.

AWESOME!!!! My house was built in 1911 and I have a newer free standing Country woodstove. Mark arrived right on time. Very professional. Explained what he was going to do and asked if I had any questions. He laid out a drop cloth from my front door to the wood stove and then proceeded to go out to the roof and work. When he came back in he showed me pictures of both chimneys. He explained the condition of each. My original chimney is what my gas furnace vents out of. My woodstove chimney is the one he cleaned. After explaining about the condition of each in detail, which was very helpful he proceeded to continue the cleaning of the woodstove from inside. After he was done he explained what he had done and gave me advice on how to use and left a pamphlet on 'proper' burning. You'd never even know he was there. Cleaner than when he came. Will definitely use again. Thank you Mark!!

Mark was on time. He was courteous and explained everything clearly. He gave us a discount for having the job done before his busy time, as well as giving us a container of creosote removing granules to use when burning, no charge. He also cleaned up thoroughly. After he had already put away his ladder, my husband had a question about the chimney to a downstairs fireplace we have never used, so Mark graciously and cheerfully got his ladder back out, went up on the roof again as well as downstairs to look at the unused fireplace box in order to answer my husband's question. He answered all questions to our satisfaction. He also recommended a thermometer for our wood stove so we can burn at the right temperature, which no previous chimney sweeps had done. I have no complaints at all. There is not much to write because he was very professional and things went so smoothly. I thought the price was fair and competitive with previous chimney sweeps.

Mark arrived approximately 30 min early (Yay!). He was very friendly, professional and began work immediately. He completed the work in his estimated time of one hour. There was absolutely no trace of his ever being in the house (very careful with carpet covering and area surrounding fireplace), so Yay, again! Very reasonable cost for fireplace use peace of mind.

The two man crew arrived on time. We have a steep two story roof which they scaled to do the flue cleaning. Removed three gallons of creosote. Cleaned the inside of the stove and the window. Inspected chimney cap screen. Inspected inside of stove for any possible problem areas. Were very careful about leaving no trace of residue in the house. Communicated clearly about the results of their cleaning and inspection. Very professional. Honored their 15% June discount.

They are professional and timely on their service call. He found a large hole in the chimney and sealed it. I am satisfied with there service. It was 13 years since we had the chimney serviced.
