Chris Tucker from mcVay came out to see the job and bid it. Next, he emailed the diagram of the needed gutter and downspout and the bid, for our review. We accepted and, since they've been very busy this summer, he estimated a 3 to 4 week wait. I called him and asked for a much earlier work date. He was always friendly, enthusiastic and a great listener. he and quot;heardand quot; me and said he'd ask Jeremy (in charge of gutter scheduling) to call me. Jeremy called (also a kind, professional person) and said he'd work me into the schedule. He estimated that in 1 and 1/2 weeks he'd be likely able to work in my project. He said he'd send Tony and Jake to install, and call beforehand with an exact day and time.Anyway, Tony and Jake came on Wed. afternoon, July 18, 2012. They put in a beautiful gutter system, complete with downspout and a small and quot;reservoirand quot; my husband had asked for and explained to him that day. Tony was fantastic, also. - a great listener - smart. We think Tony is intuitively an engineer and architect. he and Jake worked great together. After about 2 and 1/2 hours they left us with exactly what we had hired them for. Beautiful, shiny, new gutters and downspout. Hung perfectly. And they had cleaned up every thing spotlessly.

They followed up well when we had a leak. They handled it really well. Their workers were quite unprofessional though. They were a better deal for the metal roof.

They came and gave an estimate on the basement windows and sliding doors. They were a higher grade window and a bit more expensive then competitors. The rest of the home had these windows installed prior to our ownership. By going with them, we were able to retain a warranty throughout the entire home. I believe the installation took only about a day and a half or so to complete. The process was pretty easy on my end. I left them alone and everything was were I left it when I got back home (always a plus now-a days) Inside the home, I barely knew they were there. Outside there was a bit of sawdust left over. Enough to annoy me, not so much to make a stink about. Other then that it was a good investment and much more comfortable since.

I used them before I signed up for Angie's List. They were timely and fairly neat.

The pricing seemed fairly reasonable. They were quick, efficient, and very clean. They cleaned up after themselves.

Our home is over 100 years old and the single pane windows are a mess. As a Christmas present to ourselves we decided to have the windows in the bedrooms and bathroom replaced with quality vinyl windows that would be more energy efficient, more soundproof, and easier to open and clean. We made a few calls to some of the better known dealers and were less than satisfied with the customer service over the phone. The one exception was McVay. When I called I was able to talk directly to one of the owners who was very informative and friendly. I scheduled a bid and Mark McVay arrived on time and was very professional. I was a little surprised at the cost of installation, but realized it was probably not going to get done if we tried to install them ourselves. On the day of installation the installers arrived promptly and were clean, friendly, well dressed (appropriately for the type of work), professional and respectful of my furnishings. The lead informed me of what they would be doing. They worked quickly and we were very pleased with the result (windows and trim looked great and clean up was complete.) However, when the installer gave me a lesson on how to open and remove panes and screens I noticed that the wrong type of window had been installed. We had contracted for double hung windows and they had installed single hung. I was told I would hear back from someone right away, but two days passed without anyone touching base. I had to call and follow up. Mark was very apologetic and gave me a couple of options for resolving the issue. In the end we decided to just keep the single hung windows and accepted a small discount on cost. I was hoping they would have been a bit more generous with the discount...but who wouldn't? I was hoping for free windows! Oh well. Will I use them again? Yes. In fact, I want all new windows now.

I am going to go ahead and use them for the siding. I haven't started the project yet but I cannot believe how great their customer service has been. It has been very refreshing when compared to some of the other people out there. They knew their stuff and were right on top of things and they were just a pleasure to work with. The only reason I haven't worked with them yet is that I have to pick the colors, and once I let them know that, they will be the ones getting the job. I am not going to use them for windows since I wanted to do Anderson windows but they can only do Pella and not Anderson. I guess that there is some deal between those two companies and they won't let somebody provide both of those. They practically send an e-mail or give me a call before I even get in touch with them on any question I would have, and it is pretty amazing. They were perfect on punctuality.

In my opinion they were a little costly and I think the window is leaking again now. I tried caulking inside and outside but nothing seemed to work. I would tell people to think twice before using them. I can feel cold air coming in and for a window that's only been in since January I wouldn't think I'll have cold air coming in already. I had told the guy to put the caulking around the window before he left but he wasn't going to do it. They kept contacting me a couple of times to find out when would be a good time but our schedules kept conflicting. He was about a half hour to forty five minutes late.

They do a good job and they clean up well too. They use a forklift type device to lift anything off the roof. Any other place you would see them throw it down in the yard and then pick it up and put in a dumpster but your plants or the lawn would get damaged if they do that. They do seamless siding and they extrude the length they want on the job. They are quick to follow up. They had commercials on TV on how they do this. Their price is about average.

The gutters were under warranty. I spent about $2000 on that service. I would tell others that they are great and they stand behind their product.

Overall the experience was fairly positive. There was one little problem at the beginning so they ended up being a day late. They ended up working all weekend and bringing in a separate crew so they still got it done on time. Their prices were in line with everybody else that quoted this project. I will use them again in the future.

We experienced no problems. Do let McVay give you an estimate.

The salesperson and I had a nice relationship after a rocky start. She worked very hard to provide what I wanted in the price range I was looking for. We went through the competing bid line by line to accomplish this. After coming to an agreement, there were changes I chose to make. She was very accommodating and we solved that. They worked closely with my mortgage company ( I refinanced to pay for the remodel) and understood that the work had to be completed before payment. During each step (roof first, windows and doors next and siding last) they quickly worked to correct any problems I found. During any project this size there are bound to be problems, but McVay Borthers were quick and willing to correct. What a pleasure to work with a company so interested in the customers satisfaction.

Estimator came and did an estimate. Seemed reasonable. He said the dispatcher would call and schedule someone to actuallt crawl up onto the roof and look it over. No one ever called or came to look. When I called to see what happened they did not have any record of the first visit. So that had to be arranged again. By then the leaking had stopped and I thought I'd wait to spring to have a more local company look at it.

No work was done becasue McVay Brothers never sent us an estimate. They sent somone over to talk with us, and take measurments for a new barn roof. After trying to contact them several times, we gave up and went with another company. We had tried to get a window bid from them a few years ago, and they did not contact us then. We will ask them again for any future work,
