CertaPro Painters® of Spokane

This is our second time hiring CertaPro of Spokane. They also did a great job on our exterior paint last summer (also reviewed on AL). We're very happy with our new interior paint and colors. In three days CertaPro's crew changed the walls from a single, boring neutral pink-white to five different shades of brown and blue. Fortunately the original ceiling color was appropriate, and the moldings cleaned up well enough that they didn't need painting. The crew did a nice job of protecting our house and furnishings. All the walls were rolled and brushed ? with no spraying. The painters communicated well to be sure all the color-changes are in the right place ? which was sometimes tricky due to the house having curved corners and a very open design. The job was completed quickly and on schedule. Winter is a good time to get your interior painting done! Concerning price, I do not have a good basis to compare to other painters; but we have found that you get what you pay for, and people who provide good service deserve to be compensated accordingly. CertaPro in Spokane has a good system in place, and I believe I can count on them to be fair and professional.

Late start and slow but methodical work. Very satisfied with results.

Went as expected. No real concerns with the actual job. A little more money than we wanted to spend, but I know from experience they did a much better job than I could have done myself, in less than 1/4 the time. (Painted myself about 12 years ago, huge undertaking). Everything Josh said would be done, was done. Ellyi, in the office, was very helpful in answering the few questions we had. Very professional for this type of business. EZpay plan offer played a role in our decision to go with CertaPro.

They got right to work, and got done on time, and no mess to clean up afterward. House looks great.

Josh came out right on time and explained all that would be done in painting my cabin. Explained all the materials and processes. He was very professional and pleasant. I did not elect to use this company, but will in the near future.

Within 2 weeks of the completion of work, the deck began to peel. I called the owner, Josh, & he offered to come out & look at the work. Never came in 2012. This spring, I had another company give me an estimate to have the deck re-done. This person couldn't believe that anything had been done to the deck in 2012. I agreed as it was looking bad. I also contacted Josh to see if he would be willing to look at the deck. He kept putting me off because of rain, too busy, the need to have paying customers, etc. Finally in August, Josh called to say he had some time. He came out to look at the deck & said that it definitely hadn't been done correctly. This was on a Friday. He suggested that I sand the entire deck & he would have his guy come out on Monday. That gave us one day to sand the deck. During the course of emails on Sunday, I asked if they would be doing anything to prep the deck. He said washing the sawdust off would be good enough. He said they would do no more than they had done last year which was a soft power wash & application of a protectant. Had I known this was what a "deck job" meant, I wouldn't have had them do it. Very disappointed in Josh & Certa Pro. Will not have Certa Pro re-do their poor job of last year! To his credit, Josh did offer to redo it at no cost except I had to pay for the materials needed. . . .

The rep was quick to respond and come to my home. He assessed our home and gave an estimate of $5365.14. We will scrape and paint ourselves rather than spend that much.

I was so pleased with Keith and Eric from Certa Pro. The job turned out better than I expected. There was constant communication, so they knew exactly what colors I wanted where and how I wanted my house painted. I have an older home and it looks so, so nice now. I couldn't be happier. :)

From the very first, CertaPro was professional and very responsive. Their estimate was very competitive and they took the time to explain every detail of the work that they would perform. The two-man team that painted our home worked closely with us to make sure every need was met and that no landscaping was damaged during the painting process. Overall they were one of the best contracting businesses I have ever used and I would recommend them completely.

Work was done on schedule and to satisfaction.

When Josh,the owner, told me what Certa Pro would do if we hired him, he didn't exaggerate. Very efficient, professional, open to suggestions. When we had a "walk around" after the job was completed (as promised) we noted a few minor things we would like to have completed. I fully suspected a rolling of the eyes but Paul and Forest (the crew) simply accepted our suggestions and made the alterations. An example was the trim under the roof. It's older trim but the painting did not look as nice as the rest of the home. I was thinking it needed another coat of paint but was a bit hesitant to suggest that since they had pretty much taken things down. Instead, Paul (foreman) suggested it himself!! Another coat of paint DID do the trick even though that was not in the original contract. Good, honest, high quality company.

The workers from CertaPro Painters of Spokane did a good job, but got the wrong color at first. It took several calls and they wanted us to eat the cost of the paint.

I called CertaPro to look at a few things I had questions on and they sorta shrugged me off. I was unhappy that they didn't take my questions seriously and I was unhappy with their answers. It seemed like they didn't care. Some of the paint has started to bubble up. UPDATE: It was hard getting in contact with them, but they were able to come out. There was very nice man who came out and did a wonderful job of completing the work.

I honestly don't remember how much the paint job was, nor the exact date. What I do remember is that Certa Pro's bid was nearly half the price as the bid given by the guy who was in the process of painting my interior. I was so disappointed that I hadn't called Certa Pro to begin with for the whole job - I would have saved a ton and gotten much better quality I'm sure. They were so patient with me as I picked my colors and they did an absolutely beautiful job at a phenomenal price. Hands down will never use anyone else again & would recommend to anyone.

We have not had them paint yet. We're waiting for dry weather but the estimate process was excellent. I feel comfortable hiring them and I truly expect a high quality job based on our interaction and the guarantees listed in the contract.

Excellent. We have used CertaPro over the years for many interior painting jobs. Josh's team always does excellent work and are very easy to deal with. Our previous experience is what enabled us to use them to paint the exterior of the house. We didn't even get any other quotes - just had Josh give us a quote and start work. The exterior took while to paint - 1 1/2 weeks. Much of their time was spent on sanding and repairing the columns before they painted them. They did an awesome job. We would heartily have them do other painting jobs in the future without any reservations.

This was such a positive experience. From the estimate to the finished work, every person involved was professional and courteous. You would never know that someone was working on the house from day-to-day as the site was always cleaned up and all the equipment was stored out of site. One day I had a rahter shabby looking house and three days later, I had a showplace!

I hired CertaPro to paint the entire exterior of our 2,100 square foot house in the fall of 2012. I thought of painting it myself, but just didn't have the time and some of the walls are very high near the roof (it's a split level). I am kind of a do-it-yourselfer, so was pleased when they were more than willing to write up the estimate and the job that enabled me to do the things I wanted to do to keep costs down, such as most of the scraping and some of the fascia and gutter work prior to painting. Our exterior (1970s house) has T-111 on it and some of the spots were very bad on the south side, and I was glad that they recommended using the "Peel Bond" product to help build it back up a little bit, which will help prevent premature peeling. I also did some other minor areas of the overall painting job myself independent of CertaPro, such as painting the front door and concrete porch steps myself with a color they recommened through Sherwin Williams. The time from agreeing to the estimate and $ costs to getting us on the calendar was very quick, and CertaPro's communications were nice and specific around when they would be power washing, what to expect, etc. My wife and young kids were at home the 2-3 days that they guys were priming, painting, and trimming so I was pleased that the team of two was nice, professional, and quick. You could tell they really valued customer service, even though they aren't the ones who do the estimate (that was Josh, the owner). The cleanup was done very well at the end of the job (including a ton of paint chips from the scraping!) and the house now looks fantastic. I made one change order to the estimate which was handled professionally and transparently. This was to pay an extra hourly rate for the guys to scrape what I didn't have the time to get to, prior to power washing. OVERALL, I would highly recommend people in the Spokane area to at least get an estimate from them. I am very satisfied with the work done after close inspection. This is my first time paying for the exterior of my house to be painted, so I don't have a lot of personal comparisons, but from hearing some of the stories of friends sounds like we got a good deal and a good company to work with on this one. It ended up costing a little less than I was expecting.

It is lovely and we are very pleased. They did a great job! It’s bright and clean-looking. If we need any work done in the future, we will call them back!

The job they did looked good! The paint held up nicely when the roof began to chip due to wind.

The work turned out great, they didn’t leave a mess and they did it on time. I was surprisingly pleased with them and they did a really great job! They were reasonably priced. Without hesitation, I would use them again!

It was excellent! They were wonderful! They were very nice and polite. I had more than one color and they even cleaned up after themselves and dusted things I couldn’t reach. I really thought they were great!

Less than professional quality of work. Two different paints used in same general area. We will have to repaint all the doors next spring. Had to call them back out on railings as areas were missed.

It went great. The job was done in a week. The house looks great.
