Alpine Construction

After the windstorms we called Alpine for an estimate for repair to our deck and gutters that had been damaged when a tree fell on it. The rep that came out was very lackadaisical and had little to no interest in the process, but said that he'd get back to us with an estimate. I followed up with a phone call a week later and was told that ours was a special case and had to be "discussed with the boss" and he would get back to us in a day or two. A week later I still hadn't heard back from him, called and left a message and still haven't heard back (yet another week and a half has passed as I write this). Highly unprofessional.

Extraordinary service and for so little money compared to the effort they gave the job. Even the owner gave me special attention. Good, honest guys who really know their business. I will absolutely call this company again

They communicated well and did the roofing work in a timely manner. First visit for inspection, caulking and hammered nails down. They decided how many replacement shingles needed and matched the color as best they could. They did my roof repair project in a timely, and professional manner.

I needed to have a 350 ft. fence sealed and have a large deck put in. I called twice and spoke to someone twice. Both times they said someone would call and come out to my house for an estimate. I left messages, but no one ever came out to give me an estimate. I wasted two weeks trying to engage this company to give me a bid. If this is any sign of how they treat customers, buyer beware.

Still working on the project but so far so good. They show when they say, bust their tails when they are here, clean up after themselves. When I have questions they are immediately responsive.

John came to check on the skylight, which is an older version that has been discontinued. He ordered and came back with a part that might be substituted, but it didn't fit. Not willing to give up, he combed through a pile of old skylights and found a part that fixed the problem. Although he could have shrugged it off, he pursued it to a satisfactory conclusion. My gratitude goes to Dan for discovering the source of the leak, to Darius for contacting John, and to John for his determination to solve the problem. We've had some heavy rain and a winter's snow on the roof with no more leaking. Each of these men was professional as they indicated that my skylight leak was a problem to be solved satisfactorily. Due to this experience, I would not hesitate to call Alpine Construction in the future and have recommended them to friends.

When I didn't give him the job, he opted not to do the roof maintenance package that I paid for. By that time I tried to get a refund and too much time had passed, so it was turned into an Angie's List credit.

I miss read the offer. I thought it said they would replace the nails on the overhead deck and seal the nails afterwords but that wasn't the offer. They just put sealant over the nails.

Alpine was asked to fix a leak in the metal roof of my shop. I was concerned that the screws used to secure the roof panels were in need of replacement and asked that they do this as part of the repair. Alpine required $400.00 down payment which I gave them. On the appointed day two individuals who worked for Alpine arrived and began evaluating the situation. They determined that the repair could be done without replacing all of the screws in the roof. They made the repair, which took them approximately two hours and I paid them the balance owed, $379.38. I contacted Alpine to find out if I would get any money back since the bulk of the cost of the repair had to do with the very labor intensive replacement of several thousand screws which wasn't done. Gary, who is either a manager or who owned the company explained that sometimes they underbid and sometimes they overbid a project. When they underbid they don't seek additional funds and when they overbid they keep the excess funds, therefore no discount or refund would be forthcoming. I feel that the company only did a fraction of the work I asked them to do, $779.38 for two men for approximately two hours work is unreasonably high. The roof repair they made was simple and it did take care of the problem but, they charged me roughly $389.00 per hour for simple labor. Their bid sheet contained no detailed description of what they were to do...beware of such practices, no description leaves the contractor free to do whatever they want regardless of what you thought they agreed to do, such practices are unprofessional in my opinion..

. First a service man came by late in the day to inspect from the ground. He told me the expected life that he felt my roof still had and then would write up a couple of quotes in case of two different variables upon further inspection once up there. I never saw the quotes, but a week later got a voice mail which I didn't listen to until after, saying that they would be up at my house to calk in about 15 minutes. They did exactly that. I'm not sure about quality, since I couldn't go up there to personally inspect, but the young man who actually did the work seemed very courteous and got right to work calking and inspecting.

not impressed, feel like I just got ripped off for a 100.00 dollars. I would never use this company for anything. absolutely feel like I have been conned.

I have good experience with them twice now. They could be a little more responsive. They are courteous and professional. They have not finished the work yet since I was not available. So I cannot grade them on the quality of work they perform. As far as now everything seems to be good.

took a while to connect but once we did, they were great. did evaluation and were very honest, returned to do sealing etc. not disruptive, very friendly. we will be calling them in 3 yr when our roof will likely need some attention.

Alpine kept in constant contact with me at every step, very personable and professional. He worked around my schedule. Very easy to work with this company. I hav no complaints only praises. He was very honest with what was required for repairs and the cost. I got a great deal. Thanks for the morals and ethics which is rare in this society The company contacted me, scheduled an appointment, the inspection was done, we discussed his recommendations for repairs, the repairs were completed in a timely manner. I am very happy with my experience with Alpine and will use them again if needed. I highly recommend Alpine for your jobs.

After a roof inspection was done, they sent us a report of all repairs that needed to be done.

He called much later the next day and gave me a quote to repair a section of the roof that even with the $100 credit as part of the Angie's List "Deal" was still more than twice as much as my second bid. Asked why so much and I was told they had to tar the roof, much more than simply fix one small leak above a window that I had asked them to look at. I thought and had expected that the $100 credit would more than cover spreading some roofing tar on a couple of seams and nail holes in a four square foot area! It appeared to me to be a "bait and switch" gimmick where they marked up their bid to recoup the Angie's List deal's $100 worth of repairs included in the "deal" cost, I felt very taken advantage of and did not receive any services, information nor help for the $49 that I paid. I did not accept the bid and told him that was way too expensive and hung up. I tried to call him back later to apologize for hanging up and asking if he could at least tell me where he thought the leak was so that I could fix it myself or make sure the other contractor's bid was in agreement with what he determined to be the leak's source. Spoke to the receptionist, was on hold for several minutes, then after awhile the receptionist asked if he could call me back. He never did call me back. Do yourself a favor and contact other contractors first. I would not recommend Alpine Construction for roofing or any other construction, repairs or services.

I bought the maintenance package off Angie's list on June 4. They did respond the next day asking for a good contact number to call to schedule an appt. I then did not hear from anyone for almost 2 weeks. I was then out of town for 1 week so replied when I returned home with my email for them to send my contract and they said they would send something out. I then contacted them 7 weeks later after not receiving anything. They said they sent it and it could have gone to my junk mail- I am not sure if it did or not. They resent it a week later and I immediately signed it and sent my check for the full amount. My check was cashed but did not hear from anyone until Sept. 17, which was a month later, so I sent them another message.They told me if it was not repaired that day or the next that it would definitely be over the weekend. We did receiver a message from the installer saying he could come perform the repair that day or over the weekend. We called him back 30 minutes later and could not reach him so left a message saying we were home. No response and were later told that his phone happened to break during the 30 minutes. No correspondence for another month until I sent another message. I was told that my name came up that morning and he would get back to me with a date. My roof was finally repaired later that month. The whole process took 4 months for a small repair and the $99 roof maintenance and after all that, they were only here for 30 minutes. If I had not already paid then I would have gone elsewhere.

It went fine, but this voucher won't end up saving us any money because the pitch of our roof is exempted. Thanks.

It was determined that roof replacement would be needed in the near future and the Roof Maintenance Package would not a good investment. This was determined by the representative after looking at the roof from the sidewalk.

He came out promptly to give an inspection of roof . The only problem is he never came back. We wanted estimate on kitchen remodel also. After contacting manager an appt. was made for kitchen estimate.I left a message with two dates and times that we could meet him. He did not call or show up. The roof still hasn't had work done for the 99.00 special.

Contractor provided an estimate shortly after I requested one. I decided not to go with Alpine primarily based on the price.

I did not end up moving forward with the deal, as the company indicated that it would cost an additional $315 due to the pitch.

I chose to use Angie's list to find a roofer after my mom had such success finding a handy man. I looked through the reviews narrowed down the results and picked Alpine Construction. I sent a request for an estimate on roofing in the evening and had a response the next morning. Emailed back and forth then Darius took my phone number and our business went forward from there. Darius came out to my home in a very timely manner, looked over everything and had an estimate for me in just a day or two. I originally requested an estimate for metal roofing. Darius talked to me at length about metal vs. composite roofing and included bids for both from basic roofing all the way to high end. Darius never imposed his own preferences upon me, just gave me the information needed so my husband and I could make a decision. My husband met with Darius at a Mcdonalds near my husband's work so he could see and understand about the differences in the roofing. Shortly after that we met Darius at the roofing supply store to make the final choices about roofing and roof accessories. Darius took care of permits and ordered our roofing and within a month we had a new roof. The roofers were very friendly and professional. Let us know if they needed to leave and when they would be back. They worked really hard, I felt bad about roofing in such hot temperatures. I was very impressed with every part of this process. Thank you to Alpine Construction. I would definitely use them again.

Darius dropped by my house before we spoke and since he was in the neighborhood and looked at the roof. He saw the one area that I had identified as a problem. Lifting shingles. He also proposed replacing 4 plumbing pipe jacks for $365 less package discount of $100 and sent me a quote to do so since they were getting worn. I declined at this time. His roofer came with little notice, I happened to be home, but missed the message since it went to my work number. I figured out that he was here by the hammering on my roof. I had a brief conversation with him, acknowledging that I was home, while he was on my roof, but he left without giving me a summary of what he did. Maintenance of resealing around any unsealed pipe collars was listed as included and I had wanted to ask him what he would be able to do within the $199 dollar value of the package, but I doubt that anything was done since I think the roofer left without any further conversation and was only here for a few minutes.

I purchased the $99 roof package back 0n 2/4/14. After a delay in getting someone to come out, they came and stood in the driveway and said they could do a few things to the roof and I should call to schedule a time. My realtor said I need a whole new roof, but can't afford it so we are putting the house on the market as is. I really would appreciate a refund of the $99 - nobody actually inspected the roof; all I got was a rough estimate of $600. So new actual work or services were rendered.
