Aardvark Tree Service

Very professional, did estimate within 1 hour of phone call so GREAT response time, and was able to cut out 2 trees down the morning after our estimate. Large crew, all of the equipment came with and they even ground out our stumps and roots no charge. Plus removed all the wood after removal. There prices we're a good $100 cheaper than the top pick on Angie's list. Highly recommend.

Called provider twice and left name and number to get an estimate. Left these messages with a real person. Never received return call.

After preparing a Flower bed for the stump grinding, i.e., removal of borders and sprinkler head, I waited for his arrival the following day. He never showed. No phone call to me requesting a new date. Two calls to his answering service likewise resulted in nothing. Very unprofessional. The impression is that Aardvark tree service only cares about big jobs and will do small jobs just to fill gaps in the schedule. The original bid for the job seemed quite fair but low bids will fill his calendar, allowing him to pick and choose which customer he really wants to deal with. Again, very unprofessional.

The crew was made up of four men and the supervisor. They brought three trucks. One truck was pulling the chipper. One truck had a lift bucket that was not used and the other truck was pulling a trailer with the stump grinder in it. . One man went to work cutting off the branches with a chain saw and the others drug the branches to the chipper. The tree was lying on the roof with about a 45 degree angle. When the branches were out of reach, the man cutting walked up the trunk removing branches until he got to the roof edge. At this point he climbed onto the roof; he was followed by another crew member. The two men on the roof proceeded to cut up the tree from the top down. The plan was with the weight of the branches removed, the tree would try to spring to a vertical position. The men on the roof tried to lift the tree to help it, but the root system was not going to help out. After some discussion, it was decided they would drive a pickup on to my lawn with my permission, tie a rope from the pickup to the middle of the tree so it would lift it just enough off the roof where it could be cut it back and then lower it to the ground. As the tree was lifted off the roof, it started to rotate toward the patio area where there were shrubs and a garden. The supervisor was driving the pickup and had the presence of mind to quickly drive forward and drop the tree trunk on the patio missing both the shrubs and garden and the edge of the roof line. The trunk was quickly cut up and the wood stacked nicely on my patio for drying. The gate to my patio was just wide enough to let the stump grinder through after they removed one tire of the dual set. After the stump was ground up they smoothed out the ground and placed the existing sod to cover the hole. They used leaf blowers to clean off the roof and the patio. Although there are tracks in the grass where the pickup truck drove, I think another mowing should make them disappear as they are not ruts.. We were very statisfied with the work and especially the price. I had three other bids from $900 to $2000.

Mr. Ham quickly responded to my call for an estimate and said he would be out in the afternoon. He failed to show up but more importantly he failed to call to say he was unable to keep the appointment. I had cancelled attendance at an event I was to attend to make sure I would be here and thus am offended that he did not have the courtesy to inform me he would not show up. I called the office after 4 30 today to see if there had been any emergency circumstance but the person I spoke with was unaware of any emergency that would have prevented that common courtesy and I saw no reason to have him call. . I will locate someone else to do this work. Mr. Ham called me Friday morning and asked for an appointment "to start over" As a matter of courtesy I agreed to meet here at 10 AM.on Friday In the meantime that morning) another company I had called phoned and I told them I would return their call if needed after this appointment. Mr. Ham sized up the problem (we did not at that time discuss his failure to call.) and indeed the tree was not saveable and he said he could have his crew here within an hour and perform the desired task, grind the stump and clean out another pine in need of dead branch removal . The price he quoted seemed very fair to me and so I engaged the company. As promised the crew was here promptly, did the work with thoroughness and dispatch, removing all the debri and cleaning up afterward. I was pleased with their performance and I told Mr. Ham when he called Sunday, that I would revise my comments as I now do. He did apologize for the lack of appearance or a call earlier and I told him I would call them for additional work should the occasion arise. Frank Storey

Crew was on time,very professional and did an exellant job on the trees as well as managing the debris and traffic.Clean-up was good and these guys are fast. The end result really did demonstrate an understanding of shape and balance of the tree. These guys are not hacks. Jim is easy to deal with and has a wealth of knowledge about his buisness.

I received a quote the same day I called. They came out the next day and did the work. My tree in the front yard has never looked so good. I came home from work and the work was done. I could not tell anyone had been in my yard it was so cleaned up. I referred him to my neighbor next door who used them this weekend. Very happy.

A crew of 4 men cut down, chopped up and used a wood chipper to remove the 9 trees. They also did all the clean up. This crew was professional, hardworking, friendly and very efficient. They completed the entire job in 4 hours. The owner was there to oversee and help finish the last of the work. This was absolutely the best tree service we have used and we would highly recommend them to anyone wanting tree work done. The prices are fair and the service is exceptional.

He called 2 weeks later with some excuse. Not acceptable. The excuse would have worked had he called earlier. Didn't feel that confident in his background. I will try somebody else

Very prompt, professional job, nice people. Cleaned up the yard and left it in good condition. Went above in making sure that we were happy with the job. Will use them again.

The crew arrived and cut down a HUGE pine tree in front of my house. They cut it down, cut it into rounds, threw all the limbs in the wood chipper, ground the stump, and cleaned up in an hour and a half!! You couldn't tell there was ever a tree there! The were very professional, and hard working. I would recommend these guys to anyone!

Remodeling the house. New electric through out. Had trees in the way of the new service. Aardvark Came right out for the estimate. Was originally planning on one tree and trimming up the second. With the price he quoted being way under what we budgeted. We asked them to also take out the other tree and grid all the stumps down, plus some the wife had been wanting gone for a year. Had to reschedule a couple times because of weather. A bit frosty to try bringing out the trucks. Let alone having someone sloping and sliding on the ground with 3 inch branches coming down. Asked them to leave the wood for the pit. They did much more than that. I was expecting four to 6 foot logs when i got home. I was pleasantly surprised to find all the wood bucked into manageable rounds. Only thing left was a couple mounds of chips from the stumps and a nice pile of firewood. I was very satisfied and plan on using them again on the next project.

I used Aardvark tree service for a previous job to thin out the dead limbs and trim branches to prevent sailing in tall pine trees. Each time they were prompt in responding with an estimate and did the job well with good clean-up. The first time went very well. This time there was damage to a sprinkler head which I did not notice until there was some and a fence post was loosened by a rolling segment of log.

They were fast and efficient and made suggestions to improve the health of the tree.They cleaned up after they were done and were much cheaper than the other bids I received.

They arrived here with their trucks and other expensive equipment. They shredded all the limbs and other debris, including raking in our yard, and carried all the stuff away. They had the proper equipment to do the job of pruning several fruit trees; they had special ladders to use pruning some very tall arborvitaes; did a terrific clean-up job; cut down one of our smaller trees and took it away. An excellent job done in record time. Their crew worked together very well. Look forward to an ongoing relationship with this service.

We were very happy with the work that was done. If we need a tree service again we'll definitely call them again.

The person I spoke with said they would try to get out that day to look at the job. He said he would call me if they could or would call to make arrangements the next day. I have never heard back from them. I ended up hiring another tree service who did come out and quote the job. I ended up spending $1250 with them and am very happy with their performance. They were just the greatest. The owner, Jim, came out and worked along with the crew. He did anything and everything to make the job absolutely perfect. They even did some extra things they didn't even charge me for. They were very pleasant, had a good sized crew, had plenty of really good equipment, they did it fast and were out of here, and left the ground absolutely perfect where you couldn't even tell a tree was there. I cant recommend them enough, it was absolutely perfect.

I think they're courteous, cordial, knowledgeable, and professional when they come out.

He was very easy to deal with, and very punctual. Also, left absolutely no mess! Called him late in the afternoon, and he came out the next morning, gave me a good price, and did the work while he was there.

Called for estimate, came out same day and gave estimate. Was inline with another estimate. Came next day and removed tree. Was completed in two hours, tree cut down, stump ground, and clean up. Protected flowers. Very satisfied, would highly recommend!

They did a good job for us. This was the second time we have used them. We got a ten percent off coupon for them on Angie's List. They cleaned up all the waste. They cut and stacked all of our trees limbs so that we could burn them in our wood stove. When I spoke to the arborist, he was very knowledgeable.

If you need a quick response- any response- I would pick a different company. I contacted Aardvark and asked for a bid on tree removal. I spoke directly with the man who was going to do the bid. I gave him all of our info and he said he would call us back. I have called several times every week since we spoke. They say he will call me right back, but we are still waiting....

I spent a total of $460. I actually called them because I saw them on Angie’s List. They got back to me very promptly with the estimate and did the work in a very timely manner. The cleanup was good. I was very pleased. I would rate them highly and would definitely use them again in the future.

.I have used them for several years.They take really good care of the trees and they are not just going to come in and hack stuff off and go away. They make sure the trees are healthy and doing what they need to in keeping it that way. They are not just going to come in and hack stuff off. I didn't really look around too much and they were recommended by somebody else. They are on a recurring contract with me.
