We had new windows installed before Hardiplank was installed. 2FL did such a poor job installing the windows our siding company had to explain to them the expectation so the house would be sealed tight for the weather.

The estimate was straight forward and honest. They didn't try to convince me all my siding was bad which was good because I already knew that only the front really needed to be replaced. Cost seemed fair and the job was completed on time. They even did a few things that I was hoping they'd do but not really expecting to be done. Some of the communication could have been better about when things were going to happen and how long it would take but all in all I'm very happy with the job!

This is the first time in my life actually wrote a comprehensive review for anything as I felt cheated after 25k out of pocket. First of all they are just another general contractor who has a consistent disconnect between the owner, project manager, sub contractor and their own staff. Here are the details of my experience and you make the call. 1) First they let a subcontractor come out to my home twice and told me they could fix a certain trimming at my home, he asked me to purchase over $100 worth of trimming. Then they end up decided not having the subcontractor to do my work and end up no one was able to do it from his core team. This is not really about the money as just 100 dollars but more on expectations. 2) expectation of the material - they will have a sales guy smooth talking you on signing the contract but end up I had to pay additional 1-2k cost of material because the sales guy and the delivery person never spoken with each other about the actual design. The message was conflicting about the thickness of the material so I had to pay extra labor and material cost for all the trimming around the house for the windows 3) Delivery quality - they kept on saying that they have been doing this for 20 years and tried to make me accept the fact of bad quality deliverables is okay. E.g. I have hardy cement board which is supposed to be smooth but they could leave holes and dent on it at my front door and wanted me to accept, they even try to argue with you and want you to proof them wrong otherwise. (I can send you picture and you will be the judge) I don't want to be judgemental here but how could anyone stand the fact of bad quality delivery for 20 years and able to accept and put your name on the work. Oh yea not even mentioned all the cigarettes buds (30 ) all around my house during construction, I have 3 young childrens ins and outs of the house and a pregnant wife, so go figured why I care about these things 4) lack of communication - I have an older home so there will be issue. They just blindly execute but never really care about you as the customer. For example the siding was clearly not striaght, until I had to point them out and they said it was your home's problem. Okay that's fine but you could've just told me earlier when you are doing it but not until there is no turning back. Oh yea, they end up charging me extra for the addtional work that they should've done in the first place 5) lack of Project management - this is almost laughable because they delivered the material to the wrong address. Instead of looking at the "contract" address, they look at the address from my check. Luckily I still owned my previous home or else someone else could just taken it 6) Lastly there are definitely some remaining items left but I heard no feedback from the owner, of course because I have paid already and why bother. Nevertheless, I was trying to stay positive through out this entire experience as they are just trying to do thei

Sean and his crew helped prep a home for sale. They repaired and replaced siding and drywall. They secured appliances. They stabilized a deck. Anything and everything we asked them to do they did. Pricing was fair. They are hard working and professional in every sense of the word. We are so happy to have found such an excellent general contractor and will hire them again in a heartbeat!

Impressed by the detailed written quote from Simeon. My project manager, Rich was professional and great to work with. He was great with communication and kept me informed of the progress and any issues that arose. They had excellent follow through. Their quality of work is outstanding! I would highly recommend 2FL. I absolutely love my "new" house!

I obtained 3 bids through Homeadvisor, plus I knew what my regular contractor would charge. 2FL was by far the highest. I went with them because I was willing to pay for a first class job. The whole reason I hired them was because they were proposing to leave the siding intact, rather than cut around the existing Windows. When they finished the installation, there were huge 1/2" gaps filled with caulk between the windows and siding. I said this was the worst window installation I had ever seen (I own quite a few rental houses and have replaced Windows 20+ times). This was definitely not what I expected. I pointed this out to the company and they offered to cut back the siding and charge me $100 extra per window to fill the gap between the Windows and the siding. I said this was outrageous because I could have paid another contractor 40% less to do the job like that. Eventually, money agreed to cut back the siding and install wood framing around the Windows at no charge. I asked for a discount because I was getting a different look of the house from what I wanted (and was paying for). They refused. So, now, I have wood framing around the Windows, and this is something I will need to paint and maintain in the future - exactly what I didn't want when I hired this company. I am still working on the house, but I believe the Windows themselves are of decent quality and I believe the other aspects of the installation were done correctly. Still, if I wanted wood framing around the Windows, I would have hired a different company at a substantially lower price. In this case, you don't get what you pay for.

Only negative was customer follow-up on status of delivering and installing the windows. It took several phone calls to keep to the quoted schedule.

I actually hired 2FL to install 9 new windows, front entry way door and Hardie siding, based on the reviews of this site(Home Advisor) and others. Everything started off good, but once I signed the paper work it went down hill, I signed in August 2014. First off they said they would start 4-6 weeks after I signed, it took 8-9 weeks. Later I was told that it was busy season for them, well if that's the case way did they agree to this job without letting me know it'll be a while? All 9 windows were measured and ordered wrong, so there was another few weeks wait. Mind you they already started the job, it was almost winter and I had one of my windows boarded up with a cold breeze coming in. Here's a list of a few things that also didn't go well, the front door was ordered wrong, then when the right one came in it was warped. The guys screwed up on one wall, so they had to tear off all the siding they just put up and redo it. I had to call them several times to come out and redo things or do stuff the missed such as: caulk around windows and door, insulate around door and windows, caulk siding and trim areas, cover nail heads with color match paint, ect.. I contacted the Hardie company and they said I should have it inspected with all the issues going on. They left a mess a majority of the time, nails everywhere(I still have the bucket of nails I cleaned up and that's only 1, I tossed the other one). When they screwed up on the window and door order, they called me asking for another payment even though they said I wouldn't have to pay anymore until the job was done. I ended up making that payment out of good faith. Poor attention to details, I myself didn't notice this until after they put the siding up, my bottom set of windows open from the sides where the windows above it open from the middle(hmmmmm someone wasn't paying attention). I shouldn't be the one to watch them and tell them that the windows aren't opening in the same direction, I pay them to do that as professionals. Towards the end, after having them come back out numerous times, I could tell they didn't want to deal with me anymore and wanted their money. This came to the point that one of the owner even threatened to put a lien on my house, not that I cared but it's the principal behind it. I never said I wasn't going to pay them, I simply said I just want my house to look good and be sealed from the outside elements(which it still is not, to the trained eye), and they would get paid then. With all that said I have emails and pictures to back up my claims. Today my house has siding that looks like a botched job, nail head showing, they didn't follow manufactures instructions on how to cover the nail heads with color match paint, caulking around the windows is not the correct kind it has now discolored after only 3 months and is also peeling up(MAJOR CONCERN), my front entry door is not square or level and has daylight come through meaning it is not sealed(MAJOR CONCERN), still picki

The job was done fast and well. Looks great. There was only one minor problem - the work team hadn't read the contract, so they were surprised to learn that the job was for siding the exterior wall of the deck, not the interior. They had to go back and get ladders and scaffold. But they rolled with the punch and did a great job.

I'm not sure if I trust them. To begin with it took over 2 months to begin the project after I signed the contract and the salesman kept telling me I was next. I knew I had some additional work that needed to be done because of dry rot but I didn't expect over 10 times the original cost of the extra work. On top of that there were 2 decks that they tore off and then the worker on the site told me that they would not rebuild it...but he had a cousin who would for 5-8thousand dollars more...I thought that was fishy. after working a week and leaving a huge mess that interrupted my neighbor's as well as my tenants life they left and left a mess for a week! When they returned to work they didn't bother to clean up after themselves at all and when they said they were finished they didn't even clean up properly. The big boss had to come and do part of the cleanup himself...A number of items were destroyed or lost and a tree was left tilting which we may not be able to save. I got lots of excuses about my complaints but not much else.
