+ -1 moreIt took 4 visits to complete, 2 to get the liners through the bends and attached, 2 others to install the stove and deal with a gas line supply problem. Ladder Co. Eleven people were professional, competent, on time, and very important, within the original bid despite some unanticipated difficulties. I now have a gas insert that heats the family room to a toasty temperature with a very nice appearing gas fireplace. This is what we wanted when we first started the process of converting the wood burning fireplace to a gas one. Thanks to Ladder Co. Eleven for their good work, good price, and getting the job done when 2 other companies said I was out of luck.
Description of Work: This is the story of a successful gas insert installation where others said an insert couldn t be done. Work performed was to put a gas insert into a wood burning fireplace when 2 other companies said it couldn't be done. More details of the story follow: I purchased a gas insert at the Seattle Home Show to replace a 15 yr old gas log set which we bought when we converted the wood burning fireplace to gas because of creosote buildup in the chimney. However, when the installation people arrived to check out the chimney because it is a 3 story house they told me it could not be installed because the chimney height was to tall and the bend in the chimney was too severe. A second installation company was contacted and they told me the bends in the chimney would prevent a gas lining being installed. The ultimate opinion was no insert was possible and I would have to keep my inefficient 15 yr old log set. The company had to refund my deposit on the gas insert.
