FUN YARDS USA/Green Gardens LLC

I got 3 estimates, the 1st other one was $3K higher, the 2nd one was double. There is another customer of Fun Yards in the area and they have used them on about 3 properties altogether.

I just love Bill and his team. He helped me on where to start with a super big project and a small budget. The workers came and did a relentless job of digging out and root blocking bamboo in my backyard.. People comment on how beautiful and controlled it looks now.

The woman who provided the consultation was professional and did a nice job in coming up with a nice plan. However, the estimate given by the contractor who was bidding to do the actual work was much too high.

First, let me say that i am not exactly sure of the date since this is several months later. The person was approachable, and kind but this ended up being a sales call that we paid $50 for. The "plan" that was drawn was a 2 minute sketch with some common plants put in. We had drainage issues to talk about and the person recommended we talk to her partner but we had no desire to spend more time with another sales call. Offers should be spelled out more definitely and scale described.

Our experience did not go very well. They responded. We communicated a couple of times, but they were so busy that they just quit calling and we could never communicate with them anymore. So, we found a better deal. They came out a couple of times, but we did not sign or agree on anything. They just quit the process and we gave up. They were so busy that we got the impression that they did not have time for us. They did not want to be bothered. We were going through a design phase and things just fell apart. We were so hard to communicate with them we just stopped trying. We were not one of their priorities and we wanted someone that would deal with us and they did not want to do it. It was not punctual. They just never got back to us. We were in the design phase and they did not come up with anything we like so we let them go. Their professionalism was fine though.

We did have her come out. Basically though, it was just $50.00 for an appointment. She showed me her portfolio book and told me about all the great ideas that she had, but never produced a drawing for me. All she did was quote me what it would cost to actually have her go back and draft the plans, which was a fee of $2800.00 if I recall. She is a landscape architect and it would be after I get her plans that I could contract a landscaping company to come out and execute the work. I just feel that the deal was misleading which is why I would give her a “C.” Her portfolio was nice, but I was at least expected a sketch or some sort with suggestions of plant types, etc. since I am new to the area.

Everything has been going well. The plans are very detailed, the costs were clearly explained, and everyone was friendly and professional. I actually plan on having them implement the designs in the future.

They then notified me that they don't offer that service anymore, and so I haven't gone back to them. Their quality is good, but they are a little expensive. I wasn't really thrilled with their plant choices, I don't think they invested enough energy into planning my landscaping.

My husband and I are very happy with our Fun Yard. Large dogs play vigorously on it (and their excrement is easy to pick up and hose off if necessary). Over the last few years we have had many compliments and I have given several people the name and phone number of Fun Yards/Dream Turf.

Fun Yards had been doing my husband's yard maintenance for many years. I moved into the house in July 2012. I have dogs and requested that I be told by email or phone call exactly when the yard guys would be coming so I could get my dogs in the house and there would be no chance for them to get out of the yard. I requested this time after time which Fun Yards failed to do over and over again. They would often show up without telling me they were coming They also left gates open after they were finished with the yard numerous times. I fired them. The yard work was so so and parts would be missed. The fence was done well but when I asked them to come back and deal with the sagging in the large gate they never returned my calls. They were slow to answer calls and many times never answered email or phone calls.

Overall they did a really great job and we are still enjoying the yard. They are fairly high priced, but also high quality. No complaints.

They were okay. They were able to get the job done on time and within the bid they gave. I probably won’t use them in the future because the work did not last. I have stone pavers that were installed 20 years ago and are still in good shape.

The work was great. We thought their bid was good compared from some other companies. We found them to be very professional. The crew showed upon time and worked hard was pleasant and nice to work with. They were careful in their work and did not disturb any of the plants around the area. I would use them again if needed. The work they did was very nice.

Went very well. The crew worked very hard and the results are better than we expected. We would work with this company again.

Overall, the appointment and completion of the job went very well.

I chose Fun Yards out of six different bids I had received based on my contractor's (Bill Patrick) listening ability, knowledge, advice and especially price. His bid was $6,000 less than the other company I was going to choose! Initially, there was a short lapse in communication due to an unforeseen emergency in my contractor's family causing some frustration but once scheduled, the work began using five men. The job took nine days to complete and I couldn't be more satisfied! Fun Yards truly went above and beyond what I had asked them to do including replacing a section of clogged drain pipe I had installed under the rock wall at no charge. The Manorstone wall, the paver and sand patio and the new rock wall in back turned out beautifully and the precision in which these guys did this back breaking work is truly amazing! They are true artisans! I don't know how they did it but, using the irregularly shaped rocks from the front, but they built a new retaining wall that puts the original one I had installed to shame! The front and top of the wall is mostly flat and smooth and this came from the care in the placement of each rock. After each day's work, they would clean up their equipment, rake, sweep and leaf-blow everything, including areas of my yard where they hadn't even done work! During a few days of their work it had rained and the yard was quite torn up from their equipment including a small "dozer" called a Dingo. I was concerned that I would have to do a lot of work myself to get it back to the way it had been. But they covered all the ruts with new topsoil, added grass seed, raked, picked up debris and left my yard looking like they had never even been there which, after talking to our contractor is their goal. Once again, I am truly grateful for becoming a member of Angie's List as I doubt I would have found Fun Yards on my own. And to prove how impressed I was with the work they do, I am having them come back as soon as it can be schedule to install another 70 feet of drainpipe. I also intend to have them come back next April for their lawn rejuvenation program. If you're looking for any kind of landscape work to be done, including water features, look no further than Fun Yards!

I worked with Bill Patrick of Fun Yards in planning and implementing the project. Bill was great with which to work. He patiently held my hand through the entire project, answering all of my questions, responding to my concerns and insuring that the crew provided an excellent finished product. The patio and firepit area are beautiful and we enjoy the entertaining space that is provided. We were so pleased with the patio done in august that in September, we also had Fun Yards replace our front walk and stairs with the same product. Next summer we hope to have them replace our driveway with the same cobblestone.

Overall I can say that I really liked working with these guys. Alan Miller was quick to come to my house...at a ridiculous 7am so I could get to work on time...and then provided me a quote with options and ideas the next day. Once we agreed on a plan, his crew was out four days later. They were polite and worked well. I changed my mind a few times and Alan was quick to advise me and then put his crew into action. I have no frame of reference when it comes to price as this was my first landscaping project. It seem kind of expensive, but the results were awesome. The service was the best it could have been.

The quote was lowest of the three I got. After modifying the work order (added work and supplies) they were still the lowest. The workers were on time, worked well together and were not a problem for my neighbors. They cleaned up very well and I will use them again when the need arises.

Fun Yards USA/Miller Northwest Landscaping Company did really well. I really wanted the hedges cut aggressively because I wanted as much space in the yard as possible. They were a little bit conservative for my taste. I guess they thought that once the hedges are cut its hard to put it back if one goes too far. So I called them back and said that I needed the hedges cut back a little bit further. They came back the next day and fixed it right up for me and made sure that I was happy. They were the lowest priced of other companies that I had contacted. I would use them again in the future.
