ZVARA CUSTOM WOOD FLOORS

When we first meet the owners to give us an the initial estimate and into the preconstruction stage, we had a feeling that what we told them what we wanted went in one ear and out the other. NO COMMUNICATION BETWEEN OWNER AND INSTALL CREW WAS DONE. Owner that did the estimate went hunting and did not communicate and information we discussed to his install crew. After the initial refinishing, the owner became obnoxious and rude when I challenged him on the particles of foreign material that were adhered into the floor finish through the whole floor area. We were told that the refrigerator would be removed in order to have the that area under the refrigerator refinished as well. That didn't happen either. (Owner does not wear shoes in the house) Scuff marks from rubber sole shoes were were made by back door and adhered into the floor finish. When I asked, I was told that the dog must have done it. (he wasn't trying to be funny) I told the owner that we had squeaks in the floor, he said to put tape down were the squeaks were and that would take care of it. That didn't happen. Clean up as they said would do i.e. wipe down walls, etc, was not done. Overall, when they did came back two other times to redo, no booties were worn. some particles still remain in the floor, the area under the refrigerator did not receive the Swedish finish. No offer for a credit to us in having to stay in a hotel again when they came back to redo the floors again. For "Professionalism" they would have gotten a "F" if it was not for Joe.

Zvara wood floors refinished two wooden floors in two of our homes which were 20+ yrs old and made them look 'like new'. Robert was very courteous and prompt on his responses. He gave good estimates and final invoice was below the estimate. All the staff followed the states safety guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic. One of the wooden floors had water damage and some floor damage due to furniture, which were both corrected.

We had old wooden floors and carpets which needed updates. Peter was very responsive when providing estimates and punctual. As Peter seemed the most reliable and sincere, we decided to go with his company. All our questions were answered prior to the installation. His son and staff were punctual everyday, always arriving a bit before 8am. Happily answered any questions we had and never forgot to clean after themselves everyday. Their work is beautiful! We had old wooden floors which they merged with the new wood but you really cannot tell where the transition is (including our guests). Our house looks very clean and modern, thanks to Peter and his company. This all comes with a bonus of being the most reasonable of the companies that provided estimates. If I ever need anything done again, I will surely have them come again (and again)!

I can't say enough positive things about hiring Zvara Custom Hardwoods. Joe Zvara came to the house to assess the work, give a bid, then do the work along with his crew. He is lovely to deal with, his prices are very fair and the work done was outstanding. It is impossible to tell where our very old oak floors end and the new oak floors start; the finish is beautiful. He is kind, meticulous and talented. All in all, a pleasure to have worked with him and his crew.

Everything went smoothly from scheduling to completion. Was able to schedule everything promptly via email - very convenient. Crew arrived promptly on time and finished as per schedule. A quality job.

Zvara did an excellent job refinishing the floors. Honestly they look brand new and better than I expected. They were super prompt with scheduling, replying to emails, and providing detailed bids. The greatest compliment and recommendation would be about their professionalism and attention to detail in the bidding process and following through on the job. Other contractors who came and bid on the job were not even in the same league compared to the way Peter Zvara handled the matter. Another added bonus is they are local family business. All work is done by Peter or his sons, they are the ones you communicate with and who do the scheduling and services. Highly recommend, I will definitely pass their name on to personal friends.

Peter and Joe took care of everything. Work was done on time, clean-up was great and the floors look incredible! Both Peter and Joe were very easy to work with and very knowledgeable and helpful.

Love the look of the "new" 27 year old floor. Great job and very responsive. A wall was dinged by the big sanding machine and they came back and fixed it perfectly. Great family business.

It went beautifully - they were professional, arrived right on time, worked quickly, and kept the inevitable dust to a minimum. I dinged them slightly in my rating on responsiveness due to tardiness in returning a phone call. Their price was higher than another firm, but I went with my impression of experience and professionalism, and am very happy with the result. I appreciated the fact that they delivered samples of the stain colors for me to choose from, rather than just relying on pictures.

They did a fantastic job. The work went faster than I thought it would go. They left everything clean and looking great. The bid was in the mid to high range of the 5 bids that I got, but due to the professionalism and detail I got during the bid, I opted for Zvara. I am very pleased with the work and would highly recommend them. I wish we had done this 5 years ago. It was worth every penny.

This company is fantastic to work with. They went out of their way to show me what the wood would look like stained the same as my existing floor. They blended the new floor with the old floor seamlessly and perfectly handled all the odd angles in my office. They were prompt, courteous, did an outstanding job laying the floor and staining it. They even puttied holes and caulked the baseboards when they put them back. This is a family business and all of the crew really care about doing an outstanding job on each piece of the installation. My new floor is absolutely stunning.

I had a fridge delivered and the delivery guys rolled the fridge on it's own casters across my 110 year old fir floor that I had refinished 10 years ago and left permanent, noticeable "fridge tracks". I called Zvarra after a search on Angie's List and Peter answered the phone. He was very professional and easy to talk to (and understood my frustration and had a few similar stories from other customers). Anyhow, he came out to the house and arrived early (gave me a courtesy call to see if it was okay to come early). He was as friendly and professional in-person as he was on the phone. He complimented the floors that I had kept in as good shape since I had them refinished nearly 10 years ago and was honest that he wouldn't actually refinish the floors again to get rid of the fridge tracks, that were noticeable, but still provided me an estimate. I'm still working through the best course of action, but so far, but if I do anything with my floors I'd trust these guys to do it (Seattle Floor Service, the guys who refinished my floors 10 years ago, didn't even call me back)! On a side note, when I commented on the number of positive reviews and awards on Angie's List, he was quick to recognize his sons who do the hard work. Peter is a classy guy!

We started with a set of stairs and a hall of new red cedar hardwood. The Zvara team's bid was somewhat more than a competitive bid, but we picked them because Peter did a great job of describing his company and how they work. Every word was true: They set a schedule for the delivery of the wood; arrived on time to do the work; did the work quickly and professionally; cleaned up; and left us with beautiful floors. So, we then did two more rooms. Again, just as please as the first job.

Very well. The floors turned out beautifully and the workmanship and attention to detail was evident. They left everything neat and clean and started and finished on schedule.

They did an excellent job. Price was competitive; Peter was responsive in providing a bid; and the work performed was great. The floors look beautiful and we are extremely happy with the work they did. Crew was great and work was done on time.

100% Happy! Had to vacate while the work was being done. They showed up on time and left on time. I was worried I would come home to a dusty mess, but the house was in great shape, very little dust, and the floors are spectacular! I only wish I had refinished our floors sooner. Peter was great with communication and I am thrilled. Will use again.

Outstanding work. Done on schedule, attention to detail was great, took time to answer questions and were highly responsive. Trim was handled carefully and reinstalled. Clean up was perfect. Beautiful floors - highly recommend the team.

Emails went to Spam email because they don't use valid email formats. No bid the project because of limited mill access to match existing hardwood. Seemed professional and courteous but just too small to tackle our project.

Went great - serious ground-in dirt completely removed. Floor looks like new.

Zvara did an excellent job. We had a difficult time just getting someone to respond to us but Pete Zvara responded quickly and scheduled a time to come out. He followed up as promised with a quote. We decided to move forward and I worked with his scheduler to get the work completed. We had decided to stain our floors darker at the same time, they dropped off a few samples until we found just the right color combination. They arrived on the day they said they would arrive and completed the work within the timeline they said they needed. The floors look fantastic, it is like having new floors all over again - we are very pleased with the results and do not hesitate to recommend them.

Everything went very smoothly and was done promptly. The wood floors were delivered installed, finished, and trim quarter round was added. We are very happy with the finished floors and would hire again if we look to extend our wood floors further.
