We needed help designing and building an updated kitchen to replace a kitchen that was falling apart. Tim did a fantastic job of helping us come up with a design that would meet our needs, and proceeded to handle all aspects getting it done. He took care of subcontracting necessary portions to reliable people (counters, cabinets, etc) and made sure it all came together perfectly. We especially appreciated that Tim was there when he said he was going to be. Tim also offered to help replace trim work and interior doors throughout the house. We happily took him up on the offer, and are likewise happy with the results. Would absolutely hire again.

Tim was responsive and found someone to construct our staircase on a weekend so that we got access to our basement again quickly. He did an excellent job on the stairs (a big improvement from what was there!). The cost was reasonable. We did get one bid that was lower (thus the B rating), but we liked Tim and he was responsive and worked with us to get it done quickly despite his busy schedule. We would work with him again for sure!

Everything turned out even better than my expectations. The cabinets were beautiful and the stain was nearly a dead match. Tim was great, even though he was very busy with a very large project, he was able to fit in our small project and coordinated with his subs very well. We only had to get our own electrician due to his electrician was rather far away. I can't wait to have the rest of my cabinets redone to match the new ones and finally have a finished looking kitchen.
Description of Work: Had a small bank of cabinets made to match existing cabinets stain and a place to put our microwave. However, we changed up the style with the attention of changing out our existing cabinet doors to the new ones. Also had a solid piece of granite installed on the new cabinets.

Tim is super easy to work with. He'll listen to your ideas and offer advice. He is punctual and works hard. He communicates well, is very responsive and lets you know if the schedule changes. We love our new retreat so much that he is now remodeling our old master into a new guest room/bonus room with a walk in shower and custom cabinetry. Tim works with several sub contractors. We have liked all of them, and he stands behind their work as well as his own. Bottom line, I highly recommend Tim Gorman for remodel projects in your home.
Description of Work: Tim took an unused bonus room in our house and turned it into a beautiful Master Retreat, including heated floors, steam shower, custom closet, custom vanities, gas fireplace with custom cabinetry, and more.

I give Tim Gorman the highest recommendation. Tim submitted a bid for rebuilding two columns and a large window box. His bid was reasonable and affordable, especially compared to another bid that were way beyond my budget. Tim was also willing to do the work in the last few dry-weather days of September. For four days, Tim and his son, Nick, arrived on time in the mornings and worked steadily into the afternoons on the project. Tim found unexpected water damage in the window area that looked to be extensive. He tore out and replaced rotted materials in that area and still completed the project on time. The final bill reflected the cost of the additional materials he needed for the window area, and the cost was reasonable. I was grateful that Tim sourced lumber and siding that was pre-primed--thus saving me the hassle of buying and applying primer. He and Nick cleaned up the area very well. Initially, I painted almost all of the rebuilt areas, and then Tim came by to do the parts I couldn't reach. And while he was at it, he kindly put a second coat of paint on all of it! If you want a builder who knows construction, listens to your concerns and addresses them, does excellent work, charges without gouging, and is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet, then call Tim at TGC. I'm very happy with all the work Tim and Nick did. And I plan to call them next spring for more rebuilding projects. Thanks for a job well done, Tim!
Description of Work: Tim rebuilt two columns at the front of the house that were originally built with MDF and had rotted. He also rebuilt a very large box that frames multiple windows at the front of the house. And he fixed a piece of fake rock that had fallen out of it's space, and he fixed a fallen porch rail. Plus he painted the columns and window box.

Description of Work: We did a basement remodel (1200 sq.ft) which started in November and ended in May. It started as an unfinished basement and my wife and I came up with the floor plan we desired. This included sealing the basement walls, leveling floors, insulation, electrical drywall, and carpentry. Tim Gorman did a great job and worked with us with recommendations. The only negatives I have was some miscommunications where we would leave notes and instructions and Tim would not see them. We had time delays which were caused 50/50. Overall the quality was excellent.

I hired Tim to install new kitchen cabinets. My husband and I are usually DIY-ers but we wanted our expensive cabinets installed properly and quickly. In a mere two days Tim installed all of the cabinet boxes, crown molding, doors, drawers - the whole deal and I had a beautiful new kitchen! Tim is truly a meticulous craftsman. Everything looks fantastic and I could not be more pleased. He asked a lot of questions to make sure everything was just the way I wanted and also made some excellent suggestions on the function and appearance of the cabinets. I would not hesitate to hire Tim again for other carpentry work and will certainly recommend him to friends. I also thought his price was very reasonable and absolutely worth the money. It would have taken my husband and I weeks to install everything and it wouldn't have looked like it does. If you need a good carpenter, hire Tim!

He is abrasive, will argue with the customer, and does not honor a warranty.
Description of Work: Tim was pretty difficult to deal with at every stage in the project. He told us when he'd start, but only showed up to tell us we had lots more to do first, causing an initial delay. He came to our house with his young son, and yelled at him all day. It was so bad, my wife considered leaving with the kids for the day. He promised all kinds of things ("I'll fix that sagging door") that he never did. He said he would match the existing crown molding, but it doesn't even come close to matching. The final straw for me was a few months after he was "done", the upper cabinets started pulling away from the way, essentially slowly falling off the wall. It was a hazardous situation, the cabinets could have fallen at any time. I called him, and as his custom was, he tried acting like it wasn't his responsibility. He said it would be a month or more before he could come look at it, and made no commitment to actually fix it. I had to fix it myself. I will not do business with Mr Gorman again

We called Tim and he came within a day to take a look at the job and provide an immediate assessment of the time needed and price. By chance he was free to work on the job the next day. He arrived promptly the next morning and did the job within the timeframe he had anticipated. He did a great job with the detailed cuts and gave us the finished look we were looking for. As we have been do it yourself remodelers and need help with specialized tasks we were happy to talk to him about some future trim work. We are looking forward to having him do more work after this initial experience working with him.

He fit us in between jobs as other carpenter could not make it and house was being sold. He arrived right on time, worked super fast and professionally. The work quality was outstanding. He charged us less than others had quoted, exact rate per hour he quoted us but performed so much more in the hours we had him than we expected. He required no supervision. Our carpets were just cleaned and he cut trim outside so no sawdust and took his shoes off every time he came. He is the real deal. We would hire him again.

TIm is a general contractor that bills by time and materials. It was nice to have some flexibilty as when the project started, there were a few details that were still undecided. Our project lasted 4 months. The house needed an entire new electircal and plumbing update. There were still knob and tube and galvanized piping in the house. His electrician and plumber subcontractors were very proficient and thourough. In addition, his other subcontractors all did a great job as well. Tim was very good with the carpentry work as there were some complicated aspects as we expanded the bathroom space, moved windows and redesigned the kitchen space some. I liked the ability of having some of the work for the project under my direction. I hired the architect, countertop manufacture, cabinet builder, floor refinisher, heating/boiler company and window restorer. This portion of the remodel cost us an additional $52,000. Tim was flexible about these sub-contracting work being managed by me and that was great as it saved us some money! We appreicated that. Tim is friendly and easy to work with. He has been in the business for a long time and has a depth of experience to draw from. I just have to say it was a rather stressful and costly experience, and glad we had an experienced contractor to provide the guidance! Good luck to you on your future remodeling projects!!!
Description of Work: Tim Gorman was our general contractor for the remodeling of our 1920's home in Seattle. He provided all the carpentry work along with the following subcontractors: painter, drywaller, tiler, electrician and plumber. The kitchen and bathroom were remodled and a small basement space was finished off.

After closing on the purchase of our 1970’s house, the home inspection revealed issues and deficiencies that we were anxious to correct to avoid long-term damage. In addition, we wanted to update the master bathroom and convert an over-sized recreation room into space tailor-designed for our needs. This included carving-out a guest bedroom that retained the windows but not the sliding door which was our only access to the back deck and yard. Also note that we had down-sized from 11 rooms plus basement to 7 rooms with a crawl space and usage of every square inch of floor space was critical. In searching for a general contractor, we found TCG, Incorporated as the solution for all of our inspection issues and remodeling plans. Tim Gorman, an accomplished finish carpenter, commandeers a team of expert electricians, plumbers, tile-setters, dry-wall finishers and painters, many of whom would not be accessible to the average homeowner since they only work through general/building contractors. We can truly say that each phase of the job was accomplished with amazing expertise, concern for our satisfaction and very reasonable fees. Tim and his team have many years of experience which is reflected in their ability to anticipate design issues and resolve installation problems. In lieu of a professional designer, we opted to work directly with Tim who was able to reconfigure for optimal floor space usage, achieve the Euro/Asian style master bath we wanted and the “man-cave” craftsman style for the former recreational area and hallway. We were especially appreciative that Tim and his team know the latest design trends thus avoiding incorporation of any outdated-looking elements. In addition, Tim was able to resolve all of the home inspection issues which included crawl space water infiltration, drainage issues, roof problems and HVAC/insulation deficiencies. Tim is an exceptional general contractor who is honest, hard-working, conscientiousness and reasonable. Home remodeling is an invasion of one’s space and Tim and his team were always courteous, respectful and tidy. They removed and disposed of all construction debris and they were very careful to insure indoor pets remained inside. Being new to this area, we were very thankful to find Tim Gorman and we highly recommend TGC, Incorporated.
Description of Work: Complete master bathroom gutting and total remodeling including room reconfiguration and expansion, custom tile shower, heated tile floor, custom cabinetry/woodworking, sauna installation, granite counter installation, and plumbing/electrical service updating. Totally remodeled 1/3 of house including subdividing one very large recreation room into a guest bedroom, utility room, two hall closets and one wine closet with temperature and humidity control. Replaced old 70's style doors and door/window trim, designed and installed wood and beam ceilings, designed and installed custom wainscoting, designed and installed custom shoji-style window, installed engineered bamboo flooring including two sets of steps, updated electrical throughout house to code, modernized ceiling and wall lighting, installed custom Tech lighting in kitchen, ceiling fans in great room and upgraded plumbing system to code including new hot water tank installation Tracked down water seepage problem in crawl space and corrected by rerouting roof drainage, attended to other crawl space and site problems found in home inspection including insulation deficiencies and heating issues.
