He did a very good job. He came for the estimate on time and also arrived on time to do the work. We were very satisfied with the work. After this was done my husband also asked him to come back and build a shed. We have tried to contact him to do this and haven't heard from him. We had never had a date to do this and when we were ready they just didn't answer.
Description of Work: He built a pond for us at our home.

This no doubt was a small job, but I still did my research on companies. Out of four companies that I emailed and called, Ron was the only one to respond. He made an appointment to come out to bid, showed up on time, and gave me a fair bid. The day before the pour he came out to put up the forms. He took care of everything. The pour went smoothly, and he even came back the next day in the pouring rain to remove the forms and make sure it looked good. Ron did a great job and I will definitely be using him in the future.
Description of Work: Poured a concret slab for a chicken coop.

Ron did a great job in building this pond for us! He and his helper, Craig, worked tirelessly on this project and they completed it when they said they would. They were on the job every day, on time. Ron is a perfectionist. He would arrange about 10 granite rocks in place , step back to observe it and if it didn't seem right to him, he rearranged it until it was the right arrangement. He gave us a lot of tips on caring for a pond as this is our first pond. He told us where to get pond plants and supplies. We would definitely refer him to anyone interested in having a pond built.

Ron and Craig came over and gave us an estimate after discussing what we wanted done. It was a little over our budget, so we gutted the room ourselves to save some money. After doing this we discovered the wiring wasn't up to code and the ceiling was sagging about three inches. Craig came back and took a look and gave us an additional estimate to fix these two things. From the beginning we found out that Craig and Ron were extremely professional and take pride in the work they do. They are perfectionist in their work. Every day they left and the job site was always cleaned up. They communicated real well with us. They were always open to discussions about things that came up as the project progressed. We have a couple of more projects we want done and we will be calling Bedrock and hire them again. We couldn't be anymore pleased with the work that they performed. If you want your project done right the first time and want to feel good about the money you spend to have it done. Look no further then Bedrock Construction.
Description of Work: Total remodel of our family room. Which was previously the garage. The existing room was gutted to the exterior walls and roof. Bedrock had to raise the sagging roof and replace the supports. The existing room also had an cement floor. They also removed an old gas heater and capped off the gas line and existing water from where the washer and dryer used to be. Bedrock built a subfloor to the level of the rest of the house floors. Where there was a window that was removed, Bedrock installed a French door. They took out the back door and built a wall. Bedrock replaced all of the wiring in the room and brought it all up to code. They also took out an existing skylight and replaced the roof and added vents to the roof. They also wired the entire room for our surround sound system behind the walls. Bedrock then insulated all the walls and floor and ceiling. Installed new walls and ceiling. Installed can LED lights and ceiling fan. Textured and painted walls and ceiling. They replaced the exterior door to the new garage. After the hardwood floor was installed they did all of the trim work.
Our driveway is beautiful! After talking about costs and pros/cons of paving, we decided to stay with gravel, so Ron put down a nice thick layer of gravel that he compacted down. (It almost feels like pavement to drive on and it's not at all loose underfoot.) I love the curved concrete curb in the back, that was such a nice touch instead of a straight line. The curb is just slightly above the ground, so a mower wheel runs along it evenly but no gravel gets kicked into the grass. The back corner of our yard had been taken over by blackberries, and Fortino waded in with a smile to cut them all back and dig the roots out. That created plenty of room to park our vehicles side-by-side, so we didn't need to park in the grass any more. I was impressed at how quick and competent the crew was, and just like my friend noted, they kept the area really clean. They were also really friendly, no foul language, and were happy to answer my questions and explain "what and why." I will definitely have Bedrock back for more projects, and would recommend them to anyone. We did have Bedrock come back to build a deck for us, see Decks report.
Description of Work: We've always had a gravel driveway that extended all the way into the back of our yard, but we usually parked out front. When we bought our little RV, we started parking out back, in the grass behind the house. That quickly got messy, with uneven ground, ruts, and of course mud tracked into the house. A friend of mine had seen Bedrock Construction Group working in her neighborhood on a digging/grading project, and was impressed with how clean the job site was and how professional the crew was. (Plus how nice the area looked when they were finished!) Ron came out and talked to us about how we used the driveway - did we want enough room to turn around or did we back in/out, that sort of thing - and gave us some ideas on how to configure the parking to restore the grass. He and his crew graded the entire driveway, cleared blackberry bushes to give us more room, put down new gravel, and put a concrete curb in between the driveway and the grass. They also fixed the ruts in the grass and re-seeded the entire area.

I was really impressed with the way Ron approached our project. He was very willing to collaborate with us on design and function, and very good about explaining the structural and code requirements that might conflict with our ideas. He offered alternatives at a couple different price points and went through the pros and cons of each. The actual construction of the deck went very smoothly. Ron keeps a clean job site so we never felt like we were tripping over debris, and everything was stowed away at the end of the day. The base of the deck is very sturdy and ndash; you can hop up and down and nothing moves! He showed us that all of the boards are stained all the way around, so we won't have to worry about moisture rotting out boards from underneath. Plus, all of the edges on the railing are sanded, so no worries about splinters. Ron came up with a framed-in area on the east side of the deck so that I can hang a plant, stained glass window or a screen to hide the view. The stairs to the driveway and the side yard are wide, deep and shallow, so they feel very safe with groceries or plants in hand. The underside of the deck was screened with lattice panels, and he created a section that slides to one side for lawn mower storage. Overall we couldn't be happier with the new deck, and would highly recommend Ron and BCG. In fact, we'll have him back out to replace the aging stairs on our front porch!
Description of Work: Our 1920s era house had a steep set of stairs from the back door, with no railing, porch or even landing. With an exterior screen door opening out, it was very scary and very unsafe! We selected Bedrock Construction Group to build a deck with wider stairs. After visiting with us and talking about our needs, desires and budget, Ron came back with a very competitive bid for a large deck with stairs off either end. The design included a rail design that would match the style of the house, access to the area below the deck, and a way to screen the view to the east.
I had my pond ‘completed’ by a local landscaper two years ago and it was not only unfinished, it was a disaster. I didn’t know how bad it was until I asked someone I’d located on Angie’s List to come and clean it out and complete what the others had not finished. He charged for the analysis, then refused to do the work because there was so much wrong with it. THAT WAS WHEN I FOUND RON ST. PETER and Bedrock Construction. He has been a miracle worker and a Godsend. I had a limited budget, but we were able to reach an agreement on the work he would do. He drained the pond and got all my big koi and smaller pond fish into a safe tank where they could swim happily while he worked. That’s when he encountered all the problems left behind by the other landscaper. He was faced with a much larger task than he’d imagined. What was once an eyesore is now a beautiful, pleasant place of tranquility. My fish and I are all happy and Ron has been the most wonderful resource for pond-related information. He and his colleague took a disastrous mess and made it into something beautiful! He went above and beyond the scope of our agreement and I highly recommend him for any pond work you need to have done.
Description of Work: Ron St. Peter and his colleague reset the pond liner, properly attached the liner to the skimmer (it had been improperly done by the first landscaper), replaced all the bad plumbing fittings (again, improperly done by the others, who used silicone and even duct tape to glue the PVC, vinyl, and ABS couplings together), mucked out and cleaned the pond, replaced the pump, built a small waterfall, and excavated under the liner so they could place rocks on the liner in the pond to hide the black liner where it was out of the water. They also cleaned the filter and hauled in about 2 tons of rock.
