Description of Work: We bought a new stove & microwave-vent hood. Initially we picked out a white whirlpool model stove, but when it arrived from the manufacturer the paint was flaking off. We also decided that the micro-hood we had picked out was too large for the space once it had been installed. Nilsen's took care of replacing the stove & micro-hood right away. We ended up going with a new brand in stainless and are very happy with the appliances. The quality of the second set is "A". Other than having to pay twice for installation (installer is a sub-contractor) there were no additional restocking fees. Everyone at Nilsen's was very helpful in making sure that we were happy with the final products & were able to expedite the second install so we were not too long without a stove.

Purchase was made in August, 2005 and delivery taken in Quilcene in October 2005. Until 2007, Nilsen's honored their promise to provide service. The last person to provide on site service for an appliance in our home was Rob Simpkins. His work was excellent, and he was very good on punctuality. In 2008, Nilsen's management decided to not provide repair service to Quilcene. They do provide appliance repair service to Port Townsend, which is in the same county as Quilcene and even further from the Nilsen's outlet in Poulsbo, WA, where the items were purchased. The Nilsen's outlet in Poulsbo is no longer a retail center, but is still the service center. We feel that Nilsen's has cheated us, because they were glad to take our money for the purchases, and do not, now, fulfill their obligation to provide service for the items sold. Since the appliances are not in warranty, and all service is paid for by us, their reasons for eliminating the Quilcene area from their service region are specious. They certainly do not lose money when they provide service to our area.
Description of Work: We purchased about $15000.00 of major kitchen and household appliances both for our new home in Quilcene and for our son's condominium. These purchases were made based on Nilsen's providing service for the appliances. Since both my wife and I run small business's, we prefer to work with independent sales and service organizations. We have spoken with the owner/general management of Nilsen's, and he is adamant that Quilcene will be removed from his service area.

ALTHOUGH THE MACHINE WASN'T WORTH FIXING, THEY VERY PROMPT ABOUT GETTING TO THE HOUSE AND GETTING US OUR ANSWERS. WE HAD TO PAY THE SERVICE FEE, BUT THEY GAVE IT BACK TO US WHEN WE BOUGHT OUR NEW WASHING MACHINE FROM THEM.
