Simple Sustainable Organizing is a home & business organizing service. We declutter and organize your space in a sustainable/eco-friendly way. You will be left with a space that is functional, beautiful, and simple, so you can maintain your new organized, sustainable lifestyle. We also help you sell, donate, or dispose of your unwanted items in a sustainable way. You may end up making some money! Why Simple Sustainable Organizing? Who we are: Hello, my name is Natalie, Founder of Simple Sustainable Organizing. I'm a tree hugger who loves organizing, cleaning, and keeping stuff out of the landfill. I often receive calls from friends asking: Which eco-friendly toilet paper should I use? Can I recycle this? Can you help me organize my closet? Etc. I love answering these questions! I enjoy sharing my passion and knowledge I've gained from being a professional organizer, living a sustainable life, researching sustainable alternatives, and working in Sustainable Product Development at a Fortune 100 company. I created Simple Sustainable Organizing to provide these services more broadly, and we have lots of happy customers to prove it!

Natalie was organized, consistent, and able to manage the emotions that one (me/you) goes through when you're feeling both overwhelmed and anxious about the task at hand. She had a very open schedule too, to get the project done quickly, and I was grateful for her punctuality. Noting that she also brings items that you might need, and goes out on her own to purchase them, and that time-saver, demonstrates her engagement and support on ensuring that you spend your time productively. I knew when she began steaming curtains that I had found the right person! I put this off for so long, and don't make that mistake. She is definitely someone who will help you, and to boot, she's kind and patient.
Description of Work: After downsizing from a home to an apartment, I needed to revamp my cupboards, do some discarding, and arrange things that would help me keep my place tidy. I have a bit of ADHD so it's important that I make my space work for me. I had a full apartment organized top to bottom. The apartment is about 700 sq feet.

The worst services experience I ever had.
Description of Work: Before the appointment, we discussed she was going to organize my things after the move. When she arrived, she asked me to direct her where to put things. I called her that I hired her to organize it and I wanted her to decide where to put things. She folded, she spent two and a half hours folding a dozen towels and moving things from one side to the bedroom to the other. At that point, I told her that we were not a good fit and I wanted her to leave. She said that she has a four hour minimum, so, I would have to pay for four hours and asked me if I wanted her to stay and do anything else. So I ask her to pick up, like put away the kids clothes, I have two kids. There's a pile of clean laundry for two small children. We have a tiny bathroom. She's been an hour and a half cleaning the bathroom and folding one recycled box and then she was done, she never picked up the kids clothes. She said that she didn't want to fold their clothes and asked me if she could just throw their clothes in the drawer without folding them. That was for four hours.

Simple Sustainable Organizating performed our move-out clean and I cannot recommend then enough. They did as much as possible to help ensure we get our full security deposit back from our landlord, which we did! This included and all-surface clean, including carpeted stairs, stove tops, and some tough stains. They also smoothed over some scuffed walls that we probably would have been charged for. All of this with the additional benefit of knowing they used only sustainable and eco-friendly cleaning products.

Natalie was a true pro -- came into my apartment with an approachable mindset of a few things I could tackle first. She had examples of the products I could use and demo'd their use in my kitchen and bathroom. She even collected used clothes I had no idea how to recycle. I really don't know of anyone else consulting folks on sustainable switches in their home so it was hugely valued! I am a convert of Swedish Dish Towels and fuzzy socks to clean baseboards now.

Amazing! My closet turned out better than what I asked for. Natalie was creative in how the space was used and adhered to ALL of my requests. The structure she set up for me is working, and my closet has been kept neat and organized since!
