This is a long overdue review--- I meant to write a review after Artur @ Planeta Works completed an amazing house renovation project for our townhouse. His team did the entire job--hardwood installation and refinishing, new carpet installation, interior painting, eletrical work with recessed light installation, light fixture updates, and bathroom and kitchen countertop and tile work. Artur is an honest, sincere, and detailed person and he is also an excellent communicator which is all the qualities that you look for from a professional and reliable contractor. All requested jobs turned out to be excellent, and they finished the project in a timely manner, as they promised. I appreciated Artur's attention to details and patience throughout the project. I would recommend him to anyone who is considering to do renovation projects for their house in Seattle and need someone that they can trust. Absolutely fantastic! I was very lucky to have found Artur for my house renovation project.

Fantastic. Artur works alone and is very dedicated, thorough, and professional. During the job, we had an accident that left a big gouge in one of the new oak planks. We were resigned to that being a memento of our remodel (it was our fault) but Artur decided on his own to replace the plank with a new one and get rid of the gouge. Artur was great and did exceptional work. We bid with several other contractors and he was competitive against all of them, plus he really knocked it out of the park. We would hire him again in a minute.

Fantastic job! Artur Planeta is a superb craftsman. Our major concern was that the new hardwoods installed in the family and living room would match the 28 year old hardwoods in the rest of the first floor. This was not a problem as Artur selected the right hardwood which perfectly matched the old floors. We could not tell any difference between the rooms. Furthermore, the result was beyond all expectations. It is hard to believe how beautiful hardwood floors can be. Artur worked alone, worked hard, and showed up when he said he would. Surprisingly, there was very little noticeable dust from the sanding. Artur Planeta is an expert artisan, and we would use him again and unhesitatingly recommend him.

All of our contact w/Artur & Jennifer Planeta was excellent. They are a small but VERY professional company. They always communicated in a timely manner and all appointments were right on time if not early. He is a very hard worker and a perfectionist. He kept the worksite (our home) neat and tidy and helped us keep dust to a minimum We are very pleased. Final billing was true to bid. We have already given out his name twice. Planeta Works is as professional as it gets and Artur is quite possibly the most disciplined, trustworthy and efficient person that I have ever had working on my house. From the communication with his wife Jennifer for scheduling and payment to getting a quote to having Artur lay down new hardwood, resand and refinish the floors, it's been a pleasure working with this company. Artur's quote was a fair rate for the work done, he finished everything in the time frame given and the best thing was he showed up promptly at 8.45am every single day without me having to worry about flakiness. He kept everything spic and span and cleaned up the house EVERY SINGLE day for the 6 days he was at the house. The finished product is something I can't stop bragging about to all my friends and family- we had unstained red oak floors sealed with a water-borne finish and every single day that I walk on my floors, it makes me happy. The floors look like something out of a magazine catalog and really elevated the fixer-upper we bought from a mediocre house to a home that I want to live in forever.

It went beautifully. I especially appreciated Artur's patience with tinkering over the exact stain color. He just kept mixing and remixing until it was just right. The floor looks gorgeous and we couldn't ask for anything more. We didn't want to put furniture back on it for some time. Artur and Jennifer were also excellent communicators and punctuality is obviously one of their strengths. I was also surprised by how little dust the whole process put into play. They had done a thorough job of protecting our fixtures etc. They even left the fireplace cleaner than they found it. Kudos all around!

From the very first contact Jennifer and Artur were fantastic. Communications was great, the price was competitive and the end result was amazing. Even when we had hiccups with the rest of the house remodel and had to schedule Artur to come back to finish adding baseboards and final sanding and finishing he was very flexible, professional and friendly. I'd recommend them to anyone!

Artur and Jennifer were very easy to work with. Artur is a master craftsman and handled what I thought was a quite complicated process in a very old 1926 home. The existing floors were 1 1/2" white oak and one room was 2 1/4 red oak. He solved several sqeeky soft spots, wove it all together, brought stain samples and made it look wonderful. He agreed to hold off on the final coat of finish until I can finish additional work planned in the house. Great people to work with and not the most expensive. Highly recommend.

I had a Swedish finish done on the floors, three coats. The new wood was feathered into the existing hardwood seamlessly. The work area was sealed off from the rest off the house to reduce dust. Base board was removed and re-installed. The floors are beautiful and look like new! Everything was done in a professional manner.

I played phone tage with Jennifer ofr almost a week! When we finally connected she had to check with her husband to set an appointment. I never heard from her again and the next time i tried to call her VM bax was full. What a waste of time!

He sanded the floor and put a Swedish finish on the floor over a 4 day period. I was shocked at the results, more beautiful than I had ever imagined. He completed the job as scheduled, cost was exactly the same as his bid. So easy to work with, very pleasant, wife is a delight.. You don't have to look further, just hire them and you will be very pleased!!!

It went great! Whenever I had questions in the time leading up to the install Planeta Works always answered my questions quickly and in full over email. Arthur, the installer, was very professional, friendly and did excellent quality work. I love my new floors!

I removed the old vinyl floor and plywood, and as many of the staples and nails that I could prior to the appointment. We also had to disconnect and move the stove and refrigerator from the kitchen. Planeta then taped off the area with plastic and sanded. Very clean! even though I had moved all of the dishes from the cupboard, the sander they used was fantastic at vacuuming the dust. There was not much anywhere in the kitchen at the end of the project. The Swedish finish is very smelly, but with the plastic still up and the house heat turned off (to prevent the fan from circulating the air) I was not bothered at all. Could not even smell it. Was able to open the kitchen on day 4 to air it out. Planeta came back when I found a staple was still poking up and removed it, then patched that space. The filler used to patch the nail holes was a good color for the wood. Very happy with their services and would not hesitate to use again when it is time to refinish the rest of the floors in our home.

I honestly cannot imagine that anyone could have done a better job. Our floors are absolutely beautiful! One of the most important things we inquired about when we were getting bids was the possibility of low-VOC finishes, as we have a daughter with respiratory issues and did not want to introduce anything into the air that might trigger her lungs. Planeta Works was the only company that not only had expertise in this area, but also the willingness and desire to make our floors beautiful, even though water based stains and finishes are more difficult to work with than traditional/Swedish. The work was performed impeccably, the result is gorgeous, and we are more than satisfied with both the process and the outcome. We are planning to move in a few years and we know that 1) our current home value has gone up because of the beautiful hardwood floors and 2) we will hire Planeta Works again when we buy a new home, as now that we've been spoiled, we can't imagine living any other way. Thank you, Artur and Jennifer! We so appreciate your hard work and attention to detail and look forward to working with you again sometime in the future. We recommend you to everyone we know.

We are very happy with the results. Arthur and Jennifer are a good team. They were flexible and accommodating when we needed to change our dates for the work and the floors are beautifully done. All our questions were answered promptly and thoroughly. Arthur wrapped things that could not be removed from the walls in plastic and removed the base shoes, making cleanup relatively easy. He left the house in immaculate condition.

Artur came out and gave us a bid. (one of 5 estimates that we received) He was very polite. He went to get samples of all the stain colors for us and happily answered all of the questions we had... (which were many!) Jennifer scheduled us and was polite and easy to talk to. Right after Artur started his work on our house, we realized we needed to completely rewire our house and get a completely new heating system. This was going to require a lot of heavy construction traffic on the floors. Artur advised us to halt the refinish job (even though it really put his schedule into a bind) until the work was complete, so that all the construction would not ruin the newly refinished floors. We agreed with his advice, so he put a coat of filler over all the sections that he had already sanded to protect it while we did all the other work. THen he came back 3 weeks later at relatively short notice (again, something that stressed his schedule!) to re-sand, fill, etc to finish the work. I was there when he did a fair bit of the sanding and prep work. He works very hard and takes a lot of pride in his work. It was obvious as i saw the work progress. Even after he had stained small 'sample sections' of floor for us, in 4 different shades of stain, so that we could see exactly what it would look like, we still elected to get the natural Swedish finish. (even though the other shades looked very nice). The final product was beautifully finished floors. It completely changed the look of the old house. It really revived the class of the house. We felt like Artur and Jennifer run a very honest and good business. They care very much that their customers are happy. They were the best price, and I feel like there is no way we could have beaten the service we got from them. Thanks Artur and Jennifer!

We can't say enough about this small company. We are so happy we hired Artur to do our floors with his wife, Jennifer, being the office link. Being small, you knew Artur would be the one who did the work. He was punctual, hard-working, easy to have in our home and work with, and a skilled tradesman. The house was left clean everyday, and our floors were finished as we wished and on time with no hidden costs. Our floors are absolutely beautiful and a testament to the quality this business does. We have no reservations in recommending Planeta Works to others. In fact, you should hire them.

First off, dealing with Jennifer and Artur was great - Jennifer was very responsive to questions and provided a quote which was an exact match to the amount that was charged at the end of the process. This was a bit of a small project we suspected as we had already purchased the bulk of the materials that we wanted used in the room. But, there was no sense that it was too small a job for them - they seemed very happy to get to job and were able to fit us in within about a week of the contract agreement. Artur was good about asking questions (luckily I work from home so was able to be there for any questions) and so there were no delays over that. The work was quoted to take 2 short days, and 2 days it did! The quality of the work was great - the room has a stairway landing and we had to improvise on the lip with the carpeting we have on the stair, and that turned out nice as well. The floors look amazing and we are very happy we chose Planeta Works for this job!

Excellent. Arthur and Jennifer are great. I was very nervous (first time home owner and it's expensive) and they were really patient with me. I had a tight timeline to have the floors done and they were able to fit me in. Arthur and Jennifer are very professional and the floors look great! Highly recommended.

Artur showed up when he was scheduled to show up, he got right to work. He was a one man show. He had a strict time table and adheared to it. When we came to check on the work, he would always stop and explain where he was at in the process and always answered our questions. We are very pleased.

Very smoothly. Jennifer was exceptionally helpful in scheduling the work, particularly because we had to postpone the job until late April. Artur explained clearly what he planned to do, how many coats he would apply, how long before we could walk on the floor, how long before rugs could go down, etc. He masked walls and furnishings and finished the job on time. When we returned to see the completed work, we were delighted. The floor in both rooms looks like new! We are very pleased with Planeta and would employ them again.

Wow--our floors are gorgeous!! Artur refinished the 3 bedrooms and hallway and when he finished the job we asked him to refinish the rest of the house. Not only has his work added value to our home it has given this house a quality character that makes this house our home. The process of clearing the areas to be finished, and then being out of the house during the curing of the finish material is a big hassle. That's the nature of the job, not the fault of the company however.
