+ -1 moreHe's very good. He's able to figure out the problem. That way it's much quicker. He's a little bit lower than the other company I came through. They were very professional and actually left the cleanup to us because at $100 an hour, he figured we'd rather do that ourselves. He'll be back doing other things.

He has a basic minimum rate of one hour so he used the rest of the hour to check my electrical panel and make suggestions, as well as talk about possible outdoor lighting.

+ -1 moreHank offered to come Saturday evening, but we opted for Sunday in order to have PUD back out to shut off power to the house for the repairs to take place. Hank was responsive, professional and had the parts needed to repair the meter base in a couple of hours and have us up and running. His price was very fair and there was no extra fee for a Sunday job. He was very friendly and took time to explain exactly what was done. He even loaned me his label maker to re-do the old labels on the breaker panel that were a mess of old masking tape and scribbled writing from the previous owner.
Description of Work: Our new cabin had an electrical issue and we were without power for part of a weekend. We called PUD and they found that the base of the meter had a burned out/faulty piece. The service tech from PUD recommended Hank at Lighthouse Electric and we called him to request a repair asap.

Description of Work: Hank, the owner of Lighthouse Electric, called me back within an hour of my phone call to him. I called him in the AM. My electrical outlets would not work in my bathrooms. My husband and I checked and double checked the reset buttons and the breaker to see if they had been tripped. We reset the reset buttons to no avail. the breaker was fine. Hank asked me again if I had performed these tasks to see if it would be a fix I could do myself. Nope. He then said that he could stop by the same day at 5:00ish after he was done with his work day. He arrived on time and checked out our problems. It turned out that there was another reset button on another outlet (we were unaware it was present) that we had and it was the problem. After we reset it everyrthing worked great! Hank took the time to isolate the problem and to explain how the GFI (ground fault interrupter) reset buttons worked and used my hairdryer reset buttons for further explanation. He was professional and polite the whole time, even though we had shown ourselves to be electrical illiterates. He drove an extra half-hour out of his way to get to our house and then he said that he wouldn't charge us anything, but to please call him the next time we had an electrical problem. He treated us so nicely even though the problem was something we should have been able to fix ourselves. I recommend him highly for his honesty , professionalism and promptness. I would not have known that it was a simple solution and I would have been willing to pay any charges.

+ -1 moreThe owner of Lighthouse Electric, Hank did the work himself. The entire project was completed quickly and efficiently in a little under two hours time. Hank took the took the time to explain the project and what he needed to change to bring the wiring was within code. Additionally while he was at my home he took a minute to look over another electrical panel for me to insure that it and the surrounding wiring was safe. I was a little surprised that the old electrical circuit box was left for me to dispose of, but maybe that is usual within the business? Overall I was quite pleased with the service provided by Lighthouse Electric and appreciated that the electrician Hank was willing to explain not only the job that he was currently working on but also how some other wiring and circuits worked around my place. I will definitely hire Lighthouse Electric again!
