The best craftsmanship we’ve ever had. Not one drop of caulk used. Mr. Kelly is very knowledgeable in technique and application. Precise and expert wood cutting, cabinet door remodeling, and advice, choice of grout at the ready, and expert installation of backsplash. On time, also does one job at a time, finishes on time. Very affordable prices. A pleasure to work with. Highly recommend Mr. Kelly.

My apologies for an apparent oversight as we have been extremely busy and just celebrated our first grandson. The only negative posts I have ever received are from people I have not worked for . We take pride in our quality and integrity but I won't apologize for being too busy...Thank you

Regarding this review...I never met this person ,nor received this message,,,and apparently had no opportunity to respond...it is sad that someone would be so critical of someone they have never met... everyone we have actually worked for have given us very positve reviews as we offer only quality and integrity to our customers.

Joe and his partner Frank were one of three bidders. we selected them based on the level of detail in their proposal, reasonable cost, and simply a good feeling we got about them. We worked closely with them on various design issues; they had good ideas about many things, which was helpful to us. They came on time every day, worked hard, and did high quality work. They are both very experienced and talented. We found them to be honest, sincere, reliable, and enjoyable. It took a bit longer than we (and they) had originally anticipated, but that is not a surprise in a remodel of the scale we were doing. They were very good about finding solutions to problems that popped up from time to time as a result of the surprises that older houses provide. They also helped manage the cost and avoid waste by taking the old kitchen cabinets, refurbishing them, and installing them in the laundry room, that lacked cabinet space. We would use them again without hesitation.
Description of Work: Remodeled kitchen, two bathrooms, laundry room, rebuilt two sets of stairs, and various miscellaneous items. We provided the major materials (cabinets, shower tiles, etc.) but the $27,000 included about $5,000 of materials provided by contractor.

After getting and reviewing three estimates, from three contractors for remodeling our bathroom, we selected Joseph Kelly, owner of Goods Works Construction. His estimate was the most complete and clearly written estimate of the three. His estimate left no part of the project in question. From the demolition, disposal of debris, purchasing of materials to completed remodel including labor costs were all covered in the estimate. We sat down and discussed the entire remodeling details that included estimate for how many actual calendar days to complete the work. Joseph also explained potential items that might cause changes to the estimate due to hidden problems that may alter the estimate. We set the start date and the complete remodel was completed as agreed—time, cost, and quality. The subfloor in the walk-in closet required additional materials and labor over and above the estimate. Because Joseph had explained that potential problems may not be evident until demolition was complete, I was aware that potential hidden issues may arise. As soon as he identified the issue with the sub-floor, he consulted with us, showing us the problem along with options and estimated additional cost for correcting the problem. Throughout the entire remodel, Joseph offered options for the placement items such as the shower handle, shower head, shelf placement, tile layout, etc. Because of his effort at guiding us through the entire remodel, we were extremely pleased with every aspect of the remodel. Based on our experience, Good Works Construction is a top notch contractor that I feel confident in recommending to others for construction needs.
Description of Work: Good Works Construction remodeled our bathroom by replacing the tub, tile, bathroom flooring, and walk-in closet flooring. The master bathroom now has a large walk-in shower that is completely done in ceramic tile on the walls and the floor of the bathroom. The walk-in closet now has a wooden floor with a hinged access door to the house crawl space.

Description of Work: The providers came to my house, looked at the job I wanted done...literally turned up their noses, bragged about how good they were and then failed to get back to me promptly with a bid. I did the job myself and it looks awesome.

Not exactly true...the potential client wanted us to install used materials salvaged from another remodel...used vanity , used lights ,faucet, etc.....the job never made it to the proposal stage and yet I was concidered arrogant which has never been my character. I try my best to always perform with quality and integrity as nearly all of my clients will attest to.

The experience was wonderful. I tend to be apprehensive about having people I don't know do work for me. One never knows how it will go. Having seen Good Works Construction on Angie's List, I called the owner Joseph Kelly. He came to talk about the work I wanted done and delivered a proposal of supplies and prices within the next couple of days. When he started the job, he and his helper were hard at work from 9am to 5pm. Joseph is a complete professional! All went really well. I also asked if he could do more to the deck (adding railing) and he said sure... Due to weather issues, he is due back to complete the job. It couldn't have gone any better for me. Thank you to Good Work Construction and Joseph Kelly. I will definitely call him back for more jobs.
Description of Work: Two porches with hand rails and an 9' x 12' deck were built within a week's time.

It continues to go very well and he is the only contractor I use on the house despite having had several others do some work when Joe wasn't available. Now I just wait until Joe can do the job.
Description of Work: I hesitated to write this review because I don't want to share Joe Kelly of Good Works Construction with anyone until my house is complete. I bought a house that needed extensive (and unexpected) remodeling. Joe has been doing new construction and remodeling at my home since January 2010. Thus far he has: replaced all my windows and skylights, built a new master closet, gutted and remodeled our walkout basement including two bedrooms, a full bathroom, the family room, bar and is now working on fixing the stairs between the basement and the first floor which needed rebuilt, reinforced and will now have hardword instead of carpet. He will continue with gutting and remodeling the master bedroom/bath, living room, dining room, study and kitchen. Ultimately, he will have rebuilt most of my house fixing the original poor construction and replacing it with very fine work indeed. Joe had a construction company and built new homes until the recession. He is capable of doing virtually anything including laying tile, carpentry, general construction, flooring, etc. When I asked him one day why he took such pride in his work he remarked, "I'm working for the Lord as well as you and I make sure my work is pleasing to Him". What more can you ask for?
