Pro Painters Plus

Made my house better than when I bought it 4 years ago (and it was brand new)! I discovered the previous year that the paint used on my trim and eaves was a poor paint that should not be used in the Pacific NW exterior. It also lacked mold resistance. So in 2015, I hired a nice handyman to paint the trim as it had black mold and had yellowed out. I did not have the eaves painted to save money. In 2016 I now had black mold on the eaves... The handyman was not available so I searched for a professional painter. I got several bids, BUT they all informed me that I had a bigger problem that had to be corrected first. My gutters had been installed cheap and badly. They did not have fascia board and were pulling away from the roof hence the water leaking and black mold. Dan Bryson who owns Pro Painters Plus out of Sedro Wooley came and said the same thing, BUT he took it a step further and suggested a gutter company and several carpenters who could do the initial work. I called the gutter company and they found no rot on the roof, tresses, and eaves, so they came up with a solution to salvage the situation that only cost me about $500 instead of thousands and thousands of dollars. They added flashing to the roof to run the water correctly to gutters and reattached gutters every 2 feet so they would NOT come off. So with this work complete, I called Dan back and even though he was booked for the next few months, he knew the urgency of my situation and re-arranged his schedule to address my situation immediately. Dan pressure washed the house. A week later he came back intent on just painting the eaves... BUT as he began the job he found many, many issues that had to be resolved. First he found that the work done the previous year needed to basically be re-done as their were many missing spots and paint all over my roof and on my house. I am in a wheel chair and could not see all the errors (but had seen some of them...), but he found a way to show me the errors and then asked if I wanted them corrected which I did. My roof now looks like when it was new and he removed all the paint on my house that shouldn't be there. Next the builders of the house had also used nails that were too long on the roof and stuck out in the eaves and were rusting badly. He asked me if I wanted those cut off and sealed. I agreed to have those done on the front of the house only at this time. Then he found that all of the new attachments of my gutters to the roof need to be sealed and he did that as well to ensure no leakage or rust. When he got to the back side of the house he discovered where the handyman had tried to repair my back door that had water damage. He saw where the handyman had tried to correct how the water was coming off the roof to the door but it was still leaking. He asked me if I wanted him to look into that as well. I did. He ended up tearing apart the back door, putting in proper insulation, replacing the trim around the door that had continued to rot, correcting the leak off the roof, suring up the plywood on the house, sealing up the door frame and all the surrounding area, repairing the gasket on the bottom of the door, painting the trim and frame, and making sure the door and transom window were totally sealed, water resistant, weather proof, and properly painted. I hired a painter but got and expert/skilled craftsman who provided carpentry and painting services! He also sealed around my other doors as insurance for the future. He repainted the frame and trim on my garage door as well. He touched up the columns in the front of my house and now my house looks amazing!!! Just as he finished with his work I was refinancing the house and with his help and expert services I got a premium appraisal on my house!!! In the middle of his work I dropped an item on my hardwood floor that gouged it and he knew how to repair that and had everything necessary. He instructed me in how to use the different putties and how to do my own repair which looks perfect now! He was friendly, respectful, on time daily, and worked very hard and fast to complete the work on my house. It started as a simple job that kept growing and growing as he discovered issues. This did not deter him! He was determined to correct the issues on my house and make it safe and sound. Basically he was amazing. He had a very nice young assistant with him and he was teaching him the trade. I got to observe his teaching skills over the 4 days he was here and he was a great teacher as well!!! Dan is a perfectionist and that is what I wanted in a journeyman expert. He exceeded my expectations which is very hard to do!
