We’re very happy with the re-financing process through Westwood Mortgage. Erika was very detailed in her emails to make sure we didn’t miss anything. She treated me with the utmost respect, and made me feel less stressed. I could ask her any questions without feeling like it was a silly question, and she responded very quickly. This experience gets an “A” compared to other home financing companies experiences.

We worked with Erika Nelson and Elyse Kingdon in purchasing our first home. They were an absolute delight to work with and their expertise and diligence were such comforts throughout the process. Buying a home can be stressful and frenetic in the best of times, but is an especially daunting task in today's market. We were able to work through the process quickly and put together a winning offer. Tom and his team were great to work with. I had a highly-unusual home refinance situation and Tom and his team brought everything to close without concern. He always returned my calls/emails and patiently addressed my questions despite having many other loans to process. Tom also saved me $. He found a way avoid a home appraisal, was able to secure missing documents at no additional charge, and graciously paid the rate-lock extension fee when it became evident the loan would close 1-2 days late. Overall, the experience was a good one, and I'd use Tom's team again.

Tom and his team are superb. Tom served as our loan officer on a more complex than usual loan underwriting situation. His team's underwriting enabled us to keep our rental property and finance the new home purchase using a second VA loan. His team turned quickly on the underwriting and document preparation, which enabled us to close ahead of schedule. Tom is very knowledgeable, diligent, and responsive. We will definitely work with Tom and his team again for our future financing needs.

This is the 2nd time I've worked with Brett and his team at Westwood and I continue to highly recommend him! The market can be tough, but the process is a lot easier working with him. Brett is highly responsive and happy to answer any questions. He explains all the options along the way. I'm always impressed when he updates me BEFORE I ask! Overall a great experience - terrific knowledge, guidance, and straight-forward pricing. No need to look any further!

This is our third mortgage with Westwood. We keep going back because we always receive great service. Brett is Knowledgeable and work hard to get us the best deal. In the latest one, we were under tight deadlines and ran into some technical issues, but Brett hard work and great hustle saved the day and we were able to close on time.

Mortgage refinancing, much like a do-over, is supposed be easier and familiar. Unfortunately for us, there were several instances where we felt the process was more difficult than our first mortgage. Pros: * Application: Within a few hours of my spouse being on the phone, providing our social security number, we had a quote and were asked to review the documentation within three days. * Support: On several occasions,we reached out to Brett (Westwood Mortgage) to clarify any issues associated with errors or omissions in our paperwork. Each time he made himself available. Also, Brett was happy to assist us with a real-time review of rates, while discussing rebates which could go towards closing costs and the monthly mortgage payments. In fact, we saved on inspection fees, as one of the institutions we were aligning with didn't require it. * Convenience: If the idea of paper laying around your home or office worries you, then your concerns will be misplaced against Westwood Mortgage. Rather, Westwood uses online forms, with support for digital signature, which can be accessed on any browser or on any device (including smartphones). Additionally, Westwood Mortgage has their own escrow company, which will assist you with the final paperwork, prior to acquiring your new mortgage. Cons: * Errors: While we appreciated the expediency to which Westwood Mortgage took to get our application paperwork processed, we noticed several errors (including years of mortgage, work history, etc.), which never got corrected. On one occasion, having noticed my work history was incorrect, on both the online form and paper form, I corrected (and initialized) the information on the paper document. Unfortunately, upon filling out the final paperwork, I noticed those errors were never corrected (despite being assured several times). * Convenience: During the application process we rarely received any scheduled notices that our paperwork was pending. Instead we were often emailed notices (with an includeds URL) of paperwork requiring our signature. Often the language in the email included phrases like "It is important that you find, open, and sign this document TODAY", which can be intimidating when initiating your first refinance. Overall Satisfaction Given everything we went through, we will more than likely not be aligning ourselves with Westwood Mortgage in the future. Our decision is based on several key areas. 1. Accuracy. During the application process and the final sign off, we were presented inaccurate paperwork which (despite assurances) were never corrected at signing. 2. Convenience. During the application process, we were consistently contacted for signatures during work hours. While the convenience of filling out online forms is appreciated, the notices are less than convenient during a time when work should take priority over private matters. 3. Followup. Recently we were contacted by Westwood Mortgage to gauge our experience. At no point did the Vice President make mention of the mistakes that were made during our application. Rather they requested that if our satisfaction was met, that we refer them to friends and family. Furthermore, we were asked to reach out to them if we had any issues, so they could make it better. I can assure you that, short of refunding their fee, we don't think they can change our perception of their business practices. Let me be clear on something, Westwood Mortgage is rated highly by other customers. So my experience should not overshadow other people's perceived positive outcomes. However, I advise you to do the following: 1. Get your terms of the mortgage in writing, prior to Westwood Mortgage submitting your application. If you don't then you will be forced to fill out a Change of Circumstances form. 2. Ask them how often they will check with you, regarding the progress of your application, or if you're responsible to track the progress. 2. Review any and all errors on your application and get them corrected, prior to signing. No one should be pressured to sign paperwork, especially when there are legal ambiguities (associated with misrepresentation of information) listed in almost every form. 3. If you find yourself filling out several Change of Circumstances forms then walk away. In conclusion, we will not be seeking out Westwood Mortgage for future refinancing needs. They never corrected several key mistakes, despite having been issued corrections. It might seem petty, but when you've fulfilled your legal responsibility to provide accurate information, prior to signature, they should do the same.

Patrick Dunn with Westwood Mortgage did a FANTASTIC job to obtain a significant VA loan for us at a very low rate that could not be matched by other mortgage brokers or lenders. We were also on a very tight timeline, and we were able to close within two weeks, which other lenders told us was impossible. I would (and will) recommend Patrick and Westwood to anyone looking for a mortgage.

Exceptionally well. We've bought/sold many homes and using Westwood, Brent Bly was the smoothest, fastest and best customer service experience we've had. Westwood/Brent was always accessible, provided ongoing updates without our having to ask and were extremely professionnal and personal throughout the total transaction. Follow up / ongoing analysis of our mortgage position and other opportunities is greatly appreciated.

Joe at Westwood was very accommodating and professional. Not only were we first time home buyers with a tricky loan type, we were also purchasing a bank owned property. Despite the obstacles, Joe was always there to answer our questions and help speed things along. He made a point of always being available to us - even while on vacation - and was instrumental in making sure that everyone involved in our home-buying process was on the same page. Joe made a difficult process more bearable, and we will absolutely be using Westwood Mortgage again in the future.

Like buying a car getting a home loan is not on my list of favorite things to do. Westwood made the process extremely painless and they were extremely punctual and responsive. I found them on Angies List and because of the reviews decided to give them a try. There is no pressure and they are very upfront and honest on any issues they feel given your circumstance. Without a doubt I'd use them again.

This is the 2nd time in less than a year we have used Kevin Haynes to obtain a loan on a new home purchase. And our second experience with Kevin was as great as the first experience. The service Kevin provided us this time was no different than the first - superior - but what was different about this loan was what we put him through that he tolerated and hung in there with us. We were doing a simultaneous close on the house we were selling and the house we were buying. That in itself is difficult to pull off, but to make matters worse, the house we were selling fell out of escrow three times over a three month time span. Each time it went into escrow, Kevin had to update our purchase loan package. When we finally got a good buyer, it was a cash offer and we had a very short escrow. Fortunately Kevin was on top of everything and we were able to close simultaneously on both homes in about two weeks. As I told our realtor, my husband and I have done no less than 40 purchase or refinance loans over the years in multiple states and I have never dealt with anyone as good as Kevin - and coming from a CPA who is quite particular, that's saying a lot. He's responsive and knows his stuff. Thank you, Kevin.

We worked with Patrick who went way beyond his normal practice to assist us in getting the best possible deal. He even helped us improve our credit score with excellent information that led us to delay our refinance for a few months while we cleaned up our debt a little. He did not directly give us financial advice, however, he did inform us of what creditors look for when refinancing. That helped us secure a better interest rate and lower fees at closing. We were even able to get a little back at closing that was unexpected, but well appreciated. I have friends that are loan officers that I have used before, this time I decided to go 'test the water' and see what else was out there. After contacting several different people/companies, INCLUDING our current lender, we went with Patrick. This decision was based on his candid conversations about our goals and how he thought he could assist us. He did not offer 'pie in the sky' jibberish trying to land our business. In every conversation I had with Patrick, I learned something new. He would give us the facts as they pertained to our situation, then would offer several options for us. He never offered his opinion on what to do, unless of course I asked for his advice, he instead gave us the information necessary to make a decision based on what we thought was best for us and then gave us the power to decide. I liked his honesty and I never felt like his goal was anything other than satisfying our needs, I honestly felt like his only client every time we spoke. Patrick and Westwood Mortgage as a whole were a pleasure to do business with from beginning to end. I have already sent a family member interested in refinancing to him and they were impressed and are currently working with him on a refinance of existing home. If you are in the market for a new loan to purchase or refinance, I would HIGHLY recommend at least calling and speaking to Patrick. I am confident that you will find his professionalism and honesty a refreshing change from the rat race of home financing.

We were very happy working with Brett at Westwood! He answered our questions as 1st time buyers and talked us through the process and our options when working through the loan process. During our bid, he helped clench our selection in a multi offer by speaking with the sellers. The closing was quick and efficient and he followed through on his promises up front. Towards the end of the process I wished he had been a little easier to get on the phone but he still did a great job of making sure everything went though, and getting us a good deal - he knows his stuff and I would definitely use him again and recommend him to others.

Brent was the best. Helped me understand everything as we went along, and provided me with an amazing refi that accomplished my goals. Westwood is the only place I will go in the future for mortgage services.
