It was a free estimate. They gave us a lot of different options but we haven't figured out which option we are going to go with. His price was significantly lower than everybody else. He was very articulate in telling me exactly what he was going to do and how he was going to do it. We've got six very large trees that we need to take down so he gave me information about, if we wanted to sell the timber, he had resources for us to sell the timber. He was just a great guy.

Dave arrived early for our scheduled appointment, and started with the holly stump, which had actually been a ring of 5 or 6 holly trees. He spent over an hour and a half grinding out the stump cluster; the resulting hole was at least 5' by 3'. He then proceeded to a group of hazelnut tree stumps, which, like the holly, were contiguous to one another. Between the date of service and the day he gave me his estimate, I had discovered an additional stump near the hazelnuts and asked him if he could also grind it and add the cost to his bill. He agreed. Finally, he tackled the willow stump, which was a large one halfway down a bank. This was very tricky, and involved securing the stumpgrinding machine to his truck on the road at the top of the bank, so that it wouldn't roll down the hill and crash into my toolshed. For both the willow and the holly, Dave used a large chain saw to trim the stumps closer to the ground than they had been cut by another tree service company that I had hired to cut them down. All the work was done beautifully. Dave was professional, conscientious, and considerate. He drove his machine the long way around a group of rhododendrons to avoid crushing them in order to grind the extra stump I had discovered. When he gave me his invoice, despite my reminder to include the extra work, he noted it, but did not charge me for it. When Dave came to give me his estimate, I pointed to a stack of rounds I had collected (the holly, willow, and some other trees the PUD had cut down), and asked if he could recommend someone I could hire to split them for me. He told me I'd need to use a wood splitter, and offered to ask one of his assistants if he'd be interested in doing the work. The assistant agreed, Dave loaned him his woodsplitter for the job, and the man spent a morning splitting the entire stack in a separate job. Altogether, it was the most pleasurable experience I have ever had with a contractor. My impression of Dave is of someone who enjoys his work, enjoys being helpful, and has real integrity. I would hire him again in an instant and recommend him without reservations. He's the sort of person you would like to have as a neighbor.

They left everything clean and neat. Dave did some work for me six years ago when I needed a row of trees removed from beside my house. He is very easy to work with, prompt, fair - everything you'd want in someone who is working on your property. I will use him next time I need trees pruned or removed.

Everything went well. They were prompt in responding to our phone call for giving us a quote and prompt in arriving on time for the job. They were courteous, did a good job, and cleaned up well. They stuck with the price they quoted us at, which is most important.

The experience was positive. They came in and they did it at a very reasonable price. They were pleasant to work with, respectful. They cleaned up their mess.
