Washingtons Best Decks and Siding

They built a great deck for my home and they showed up on time all the time. The deck turned out great for my family to enjoy in the coming summer! Everyone loves it so much.

Well the process went very great. We were very impressed with the whole process that this company brought to the table. first of all, they were extremely knowledgable in the whole permit process and that really made us feel comfortable. from there they showed us some great pictures of some recent jobs that they have built with the product that best fit our budget and they even showed us some of the high end decks that they build too. we ended up going with the cedar decking material which was the least expensive but in my opinion looked extremely nice. we chose to put 33% down which was their typical deposit and do a low interest loan with the remaining balance and we plan on paying it off with our tax return this year! the deck was just completed and looks absolutely amazing.

The discussion went fine once it happened (Feb 17). We didn't discuss many options...just railings, seating and a hatch for access to the crawl. He showed me samples of deck material and said to give him a few days to get back to me. After 2 weeks (Mar 3) I called and he asked me to text him my e-mail address so he could double check that he sent the design to the right one. Since, then I've texted him (Mar 3 and 5) and left a voice mail (Mar 9th) without any response. My last voice mail stated that I was left with no choice, but to get my money back from Angie's list....so here we go.

The contractor did a beautiful job on the deck and that is what we are most delighted with. The front of the house where new siding was installed is done well, just not as exciting as the new deck. The siding was primed and we were able to paint to match the rest of the house. The deck is built from trex material and the build quality is superb. We have gotten consistent compliments from our neighbors and friends. We have sent this company two referrals which they were able to build decks for our friends. I will say that their bid was not the cheapest of the pricing we'd gathered but we were far more comfortable moving forward with a company with an established reputation.

This company did a excellent job on our new cedar deck. They were very patient with myself and my wife going through all of the options with us to best fit our budget. We knew we had a much larger deck than most people so we were nervous to hear the price. After looking at all our options we decided to go with a full cedar deck,. We really enjoy the look and the lower cost. We felt like this company really treated us right and built us a amazing deck. We appreciated that they offered financing with some pretty impressive rates although we chose to go the cash route and take advantage of the savings.

My doors needed replacing and I wanted to do French doors throughout. I didn't know that they cost a lot more than sliding doors so I opted to do sliding doors upstairs and French doors downstairs. One thing that made the deal sweeter is I was able to get no interest payments for a year. Pretty Slick! The materials they used are all high end and the craftsmen took their time and made sure that I was happy before they left. Good service!

The team from Modernized Exteriors were great to work with. Cameron came out for the initial sales discussion and was friendly and professional. He talked to me about options, pricing, style, etc. He was patient as I asked questions and wanted a feel for the different materials. Post sale, he immediately followed up with an email confirmation and receipt and followed up a week later to let me know the scheduling timeframe and process. Right when I was expecting the scheduler to call, I received an email and phone call to confirm when the team would be out. I received a call from Kevin, the builder, who came out for a final walk through to make sure he had all of the right information and that nothing had changed before he got started. They called me the day before the materials were to be delivered so I would be expecting them and Kevin showed up the next morning right on time. He was also very friendly and professional. He arrived on time and left after straightening up from the days work. The end result is wonderful. I would absolutely recommend this company and use them again should I need anything in the future.

When I see Angie's List - The BIG DEAL --- I presume that it's very legitimate and worth the fee. I presume that it's a "premium" offer. That's not what we found. We paid $50 for a single sheet of paper with some handwritten numbers on it. At the bottom was written $35,109. This was a "design"? Apparently the fee is actually intended to pay FOR THEIR GASOLINE. I already had measured my deck area and could have told them over the phone what it was. They shied away from adding a small roof since it would require a building permit -- and a couple month delay until it was approved. We asked about alternate options like making it smaller, or somehow reducing the bid. They had NO IDEAS to offer and obviously didn't want to consider anything other than their ONLY bid. The worst part about this was that my wife was literally expecting a "DECK DESIGN" like the BIG DEAL promised. While we knew that $50 wouldn't get us much, we didn't expect JUST a single sheet of paper with some numbers on it. Where was the CUSTOM DECK DESIGN and MEASUREMENTS?? No drawings, no photos, no other sales materials left with us. Very disappointing.

I was lucky enough that my deck didnt need permits. These guys moved fast. Gave me a price on the first visit that was fair and I went for it. They had my deck completed 3 weeks later and its great. I highly reccomend

They came to our house and we discussed what we were interested in doing with our front porch. They were on time for the appointment and appeared to be interested in the work. They said they would email the plans and an estimate. We were very excited to get started. It's now been several weeks and we have no plans and no estimate. I've called twice and emailed once and got no response.

When Modernized Exteriors first came out to our home a couple weeks ago we had no clue what to expect. Needless to say we were beginners to the whole decking thing. All we knew about decks were that we had a old rotten cedar deck and it was time for a new one. The one thing we didn't want to worry about again was maintaining the deck because I think we have proven that we just won't. Two younger gentleman came to our door and really educated us on the process. They brought samples, showed us pictures of different options on the iPad and dreamed up a amazing deck plan. After choosing the materials we wanted we started talking about pricing and we quickly realized this was going to be a much bigger expense than we had imagined. This all made sense because we were going with a Trex deck and we knew the construction wasn't going to be done overnight either these things take time. Since we couldn't afford the lump sum the company went over some excellent financing options with us. We knew that we were going to make a large payment with our taxes so they offered me a one year same as cash option. The payments were well within our budget, we get to enjoy the deck of our dreams, and we get to pay for it over the next year with no interest. This project couldn't have went any better! first when the estimators came out here we walked around the house and looked at our siding that is original to the house and very old. The estimators conducted a lead test on our home and informed us that we did in fact have lead paint on our home. This was tough to hear because we knew it was definitely going to effect the price. The thing is that this was our third bid and these guys were the first people to even mention that we had lead paint. From that point forward these guys had our trust. We knew they weren't here to cut corners although they were here to make sure our job was done the right way. I gave them all A's except for price because they were more expensive but you can imagine why. The workers were great and were always on time and working hard even in the rain. We weren't necessarily looking for the cheapest contractor and we really feel we got what we paid for.

Replaced my whole home with a James Hardie Siding. workers were on time and very respectful.

Modernized Exteriors did a amazing job on our siding replacement project. I can't even recoginize my house anymore. Every time I pull up to my house I think I am at the wrong place. The siding looks great and we went with a james hardie fiber cement board. we will recommend this company to our friends and family. They weren't the cheapest but we had a lot of faith that they would do it the right way and not take shortcuts

The service went fine. They gave an estimate for some additional work but I have not had them do that just yet. I feel like most companies would do an inspection for free, however. One technician came out and completed the job in about a half hour. He did a good job with the inspection. I had no problem scheduling the deal.

Built a fanstastic trex deck paired with cable railings. we really love the deck. A++++

New full Cedar deck replacement for approximately 350 sq ft ground level cedar deck with railings. We love our new deck. the guys were great and we really appreciated the how hard the guys were working in the winter time. Modernized Exteriors was not the lowest bid we got but they were by far the most knowledgable and we trusted them to do the best job. As we were paying a lot of money for this addition we wanted to be absolutely positive that we had the right contractor because of some of the horror stories we have heard in the past. We were very pleased with with how everything went and just love our new deck.

They did a beautiful job. We really appreciated the attention to detail.

It was nice not having to paint the new materials they hung up. The company hired good workers and they were not a nuisance. We had to pull every picture off the wall for them to do the job because of all the banging. The lawn was a mud swamp but they worked right through it and did there best to minimize the messiness. I liked the discounts they had and got right into the install schedule. Worked out great.

We bought our home 5 years ago and have been wanting to replace the deck ever since. We finally had some extra money and this is exactly what we wanted to spend it on was a new deck. We knew it was not going to be cheap because I know they are not built in a coupe days. Our main problem is that we didn't really know what we wanted for colors and railing although we did know we wanted to use trex. When the estimators came out they were extremely friendly. What made it really nice was they had a form that they used to show us exactly what different options costed at their pricing. we chose to pair the trex decking with the trex railing and it turned out wonderful. we paid just under $20,000 by taking advantage of some of the discounts they offered during their visit. We Highly recommend this company and wish them the best!

Modernized Exteriors built us a beautiful new deck. I couldn't help it and chose the wood grain option for our trex decking paired with the Aluminum Trex railing. we couldn't have been more please with everyone from the estimators to the final product. All of the suggestions from the estimators that came out turned out amazing. They definitely know what they are doing.
