Washingtons Best Decks and Siding

What a great experience we had working with company. We had the old rotten "LP" Siding on our home and this company torn all that off and replaced it with The James Hardie siding Not only the siding was replaced they also used a Vented James Hardie Soffiting that really makes the whole look come together. On the front of the house they used James Hardie Window trim around the windows. The Caulking lines look great and the attention to detail was amazing. The company went above and beyond and even replaced a extra window for us that needed to be done for free since we went and signed up. Will Recommend . Thanks for Reading

After purchasing the Big Deal, I was promptly contacted to set up an appointment to assess the work and then a detailed quote was provided after I chose the specific materials to be used. There were multiple levels of discounts available and I was able to shave a nice chunk off the total by taking advantage of some of those. I was shocked when Kevin showed up and was the only man on the "crew" -- I just assumed there would be at least 2 people based on the physical nature and logistics of removing the heavy existing cedar decking on a surface that is almost 20 feet in the air, let alone getting the super heavy Trex material to the area and then cut/installed. Kevin is a true professional and managed to carry an entire deck's worth of material carefully through my home without so much as a scratch or dent to any wall or the hardwood floors. And his work is of very high quality. He was prompt, courteous and educated me on the work he was doing so that I understood how the deck was being assembled, how to take care of it, etc. The new 14 x 20 deck was probably much easier, physically, than the re-deck since it was being built within 3 feet of the ground. It seemed to have appeared out of thin air after an existing cedar landing and wheelchair ramp were removed. Kevin built a robust support structure with treated wood and then steadily worked on the decking until he got it done the day before he was going on an extended vacation. It was close but he met his commitment and I didn't have to wait until his return to begin using the deck. All told, it took right around 2 weeks to complete all the work. I've already recommended Modernized Exteriors to neighbors and work colleagues. They do build a nice deck!

After Modernized Exteriors came out and inspected the deck we knew it was time to replace the railings and surface. We haven't necessarily been keeping up with sealing our deck and the boards are definitely past their prime. Lucky for us the structure of our deck was fine and we were able to keep that to save us from having to get new permits. Because we didn't need permits Modernized Exteriors was able to get our deck started within 3 weeks because they have multiple crews. They started and finished ahead of schedule and they were professional every step of the way. We ended up choosing the cheaper of the railings (cedar) but added in the hog wire for the middle section. It looks great! we will give Modernized Exteriors a call for our next project

We had them do the windows and the siding. what a difference it made on our house! We look forward to getting it all painted and ready for the winter!

We got our siding replaced by Modernized Exteriors and they were our second of 2 bids. The first company we talked to was very nice but did not know anything about the new foam backed siding. They would not give us a quote to do that work and it was very important to insulate our home with the new siding due to it being a older home and has been tough to keep warm in the winter time. After learning more about the siding from Modernized Exteriors they told us that the foam backed siding is a new to James Hardie and basically it is about 4 X more insulated than the original fiber cement siding. This company was very professional and set the appointment the same day we talked to them because they were already going to be in the area. We really enjoyed this because we have put this off for too long and we were ready to make a decision. We chatted for a bit about the things that were important to us with the siding and the contractor we chose and then we went ahead with pricing. The price was a little bit higher than we expected but we definitely knew that it wasn't going to be cheap because of the amount of work that was involved. When the siding went in our home looked completely different ( in a really good way ) and the crews were great throughout the process. It took a little over two weeks to complete the job and the clean up at the end was definitely cleaner then when they started. A great experience all around.

The new deck is really nice. I enjoyed the process. The new synthetic boards have sure come a long way.

After setting up a meeting 7-days in advance i get a message from Cameron saying he didn't want to meet that day because of the Blue Angels. Seriously? He blamed it on traffic but I think he was more interested in watching the Blue Angels than figuring out how to get to the meeting either on time or maybe a little later in the day. Weak!!!

The estimate went from $80,000 to $66,000 as long as I said yes within two days. I am always skeptical about that and we decided not to go with them. The estimate was fine, they were professional I guess.

Very satisfied with the proposal and well worth the $49 consultation fee.

Never having replaced a deck before we were a little unsure about the different styles and pricing. What was extremely helpful was this company bringing their samples right to our home. They showed us different samples and pictures on the iPad so we could get a good idea of the transformation that it made. Trex was their standard price and Azek and Timbertech were definitely more money but they had the best colors and styles to choose from. They brought these really cool pictures that we were able to put up next to our home it was really helpful. We chose the Azek Hazlewood color with Azek Railings to match. .From all the research we did we found that Hands down Azek was the best but it was also the most expensive. The Azek decking came with a lifetime warranty. After the pricing was done they showed us the specials that they had going on and a volume discount that was applied. Once we chose what best fit our budget we signed the contracts. The first step was to have the architect come out and take some pictures and measurements. He took those back to his office and when he was finished Modernized Exteriors e mailed me over a really cool drawing the architect did of the new proposed deck and it was just like we talked about. A couple weeks went by and the permits were approved and the job was started. All in All it took about 2 1/2 weeks to build our deck. The guys were on time friendly and worked really hard through this really nice summer that we have had. The deck is amazing we felt like we made the right choice going with the Azek Deck. I don't know if they have scheduled a appointment yet but I know our neighbors were going to be contacting them for a deck since they liked ours so much. We really enjoy this service.

We went with this company for our new deck. Above says list the details so I will just state some points that I really enjoyed about the process for our deck. 1) They called me back right aways and scheduled the appointment for the next day to come out even though they were really busy with other jobs going on 2) They gave me a price during the initial consultation (which was extremely helpful because we called 3 people and the first two people that came out one didn't even give me a price and the other one emailed me a bid like 3 weeks later. 3) They got the deck done and started one week ahead of schedule which now we are really enjoying this deck in this beautiful weather we have been having! 4) The two men that did the consultation was extremely personable and a pleasure to have in our home 5) They brought all sorts of samples and pictures with them 6) they were very knowledgable with the different options and materials 7) They composite deck was built by a very professional crew they were on time every day and worked extremely hard until the deck was completed. 8) Their price was higher than the other bids but they showed us why with the quality of materials attention to detail and a extremely professional staff. We will use this company in the future and are very very very pleased with the final product

i felt like i was back in the 50's when he told me that the free estimate is only if both my husband and i would be available. it would be $250 for an estimate if only i were there. it made me suspect that they would pressure us to sign a contract at the appointment, or that they need the "man" to make a decision. That way of thinking is disrespectful and antiquated. i have walked out of car dealerships who have told me to come back with my husband to buy a car, too!

I would never recommend the company to anyone. Their advertisement is a fraud. They should be removed from the Angies list website. I have requested a refund for the $50 I paid to do a deck plan as advertised on Angies list. They have not responded to my numerous emails and calls. The advertisement on Angie's list is total misrepresentation. When I finally did speak with them, they stated the least expensive deck they build is $20,000. That is absolutely a rip off.

This company tore off my siding and old deck and brought my old home back to life. The communication on their part was great. We went with a James Hardie product for the siding and a cedar deck. The cedar deck was the least expensive but we really liked that look so we figure we wouldn't mind staining it every couple years. This company not only started the project sooner than the expected timeline but they also took their time on the work and made sure it was done right! I don't know about the rest of you Angies List member but that is the reason that we joined. We wanted a job that was not the cheapest but done right the first time. I will be recommending this outfit to my family and friends!

We called this service provider out for a estimate because of the reviews and the amount of good reviews they have on Angies List. We have really appreciated this service and it has yet to steer us wrong yet. We chose the James Hardie Product (Factory Colored) with the vented soffiting and the house looks absolutely amazing. This companys bid wasn't the cheapest but the attention to detail they put into the bid really made us feel comfortable about our decision. Once the company started talking about things like the vented soffiting and the james hardie trim boards and the other people we spoke with didn't even touch on that we knew that Modernized Exteriors would be our number one choice. They explained to us that if we spent the amount of money that we would spend on a new siding project and didn't do these small things at the same time we would definitely be disappointed. we wanted a low maintenance product on the exterior of our home and we definitely got that!

I had bought the deal, in which he has to visit and provide me the ideas along with pictures or drawings and has to send me the estimate of work which none of those i had revived. i agree i was not present at the time of his visit but he discuss with my wife and my son and told them that all the details he will email me which i had waited for a month but never received, after my request he replied that he thought he emailed me and again i replied the same day that I did not have any email or mail by you. Contacted the contractor for an estimate for a siding replacement project. Responsive and on-time to measure and discuss scope of project. Went downhill after that - I needed to reach out to Cameron a few times to provide an estimate and was provided a basic estimate - but not what we discussed with various options. Contacted Cameron and asked for a more detailed estimate with a cost for a handful of options so I can compare to other estimates obtained. Unfortunately, nothing was provided. I have moved on - contractor was hired for the job.

We ended up using another contractor to replace our deck.

Cameron (sales) was clear about the work they would provide and gave a firm estimate. He said that they would be out within 7 weeks to start the work, but probably sooner. They began the work in about 3 weeks and finished on time and on budget. Kevin (contract worker) was skilled and confident. He left the work area clean and the deck looks beautiful. I would highly recommend Modernized Exteriors for a deck installation. They are not cheap, but they provide quality work.

Modernized Exteriors just finished the siding job on our house. It looks fantastic. We used all Fiber Cement boards. during the construction we were very impressed with the craftsmanship and we decided to purchase their design once they came out and dreamed up our new deck for us. We understood that the $49 wasn't going to get us a CAD Design drawing or anything like that but they came out showed us all sorts of pictures and completely redesigned the layout of our deck. We about doubled the size of the deck to maximize our usable space. We added a spiral staircase and that really allowed us to increase the size of the deck. We just signed up with them so the deck isn't built yet but we can't wait to see how it turns out!

was well overdue to get our siding done. After reading the reviews we chose this company to come out and do our whole house with new siding and james hardie vented soffits. The house looks better than I even imagined it would look especially the soffits. It added a great touch and we love the fact that the outside of our home is now more low maintenance than ever.

We had a 1970s rambler with the existing siding. we knew it was time for a change and through our research and talking to this company we decided on a Fiber Cement Product from James Hardie. We dressed it up with the suggestions we received from the estimators. The peaks were a accent color with shingles with a 8 inch reveal lap siding around the base. we are happy we took the suggestions of the estimators I think it turned out great. the worst thing about this whole project is that the house looks so amazing and we have old windows. That is definitely next on our list we wish we would have done it at the same time.

We have a cedar shingle house in west seattle. the cedar shingle feel and look is a large reason we fell in love with this house and we definitely wanted to keep that feel. We were lucky enough to get a estimate from the owner and he was extremely knowledgable about the whole process. He informed us that the shingle look for our home was the right one so we knew we were going to hit it off right away. The Shingle install takes quite a bit longer so we understood the added cost of adding the fiber cement shingles to our home. The work was done in a timely manner and the install was clean and professional. We definitely got what we paid for.

We have a older home and it was definitely ready for new siding. All we have heard about is how great the James Hardie composite products are so we were sure that we would be going with that product. What we were concerned most about is keeping that older look to our home and to keep the older feel of the home in place. Modernized Exteriors came out showed me a bunch of pictures on the iPad and really painted the picture for us. We took the advice of the estimators and went with a smooth finish and a smaller reveal. the project took about 3 weeks and looks great. we were especially pleased with how well the communication was from start to finish!
