Lloyd showed up on time and date as promised. He and Lee went straight to work and work non stop until it was completed. It turn out better than I ever imagined. Fantastic job. The price is great too. Highly recommedend.

Lloyd was great. He was super knowledgeable, got the job done in under a day, and I couldn't be happier with the result. Almost everyone else I talked to insisted I must replace my sidelites at the same time as the door at the cost of an extra few grand. Lloyd installed the new door in the existing frame and it swings smoothly, is balanced perfectly, and has proper weather stripping installed. I decided the day after it was installed that I wanted the deadbolt adjusted slightly and he came back, changed it to my liking for no charge and now it's great.

We were very pleased with the entire experience of adding our new entry door. We discussed options and styles during our consultation and estimate appointment, and Washington Door Service had no problem translating our ideas into a door design. The door was ready in a reasonable amount of time, and the installation was professional and well done. The door itself is high quality and took stain perfectly.

They arrived with two vans full of every kind of door accessory imaginable. I had one very heavy 8-foot sliding glass door on which the rollers had broken, so it was almost impossible to close because it had to be lifted to get over the dents it had made in the track. They went right to work removing the door, replacing the rollers, cleaning and lubricating the track, and making sure the alarm contacts were properly aligned. To them, this job that many window/door companies had told me was impossible, was easy. So, I asked if they had time to check my four other sliding glass doors, which they did. House shift made removing one of the other 48-foot doors impossible to remove from the track, but that was no problem for them. They were able to replace the rollers without removing the door! Again, of course, they cleaned and lubricated the track and checked that the alarm contacts were properly aligned. The two 6-foot doors were a piece of cake for them, as was the other 8-foot door. They had noticed that my front door was hard to close, and, contrary to what others had told me, were able to fix that in a snap even though it had interlocking weather stripping. So then, I mentioned I had a door that was incredibly difficult to open. They dealt with that problem with equal efficiency and expertise. STELLAR!!

Interaction with the company and the install went very well. It was a pleasure to work with these guys. I worked with Lloyd (owner) via phone to get an idea of the plan as well as a quote (it's a pretty standard door size/shape so there wasn't a need for an in-person quote specific to my situation). I cross-checked the price against some other bids and their quote was in the same ball park as others, yet slightly less. After agreeing on the contract, Matt came by to gather critical measurements. He was a pleasure to chat with and stated he would be the one to install the door. Given the lead-time for ordering the materials and client jobs on the schedule, install was targeted for about 1-month out. They ended up beating that schedule by about a week. Install went very well. I was impressed by Matt's thoroughness and efficiency. He finished in about the same amount of time that he had quoted. He kept a clean work area and stacked the old materials nicely (I opted to take care of disposal myself to reduce cost). Overall a general pleasure to have in the house. I would definitely work with these guys in the future.
Description of Work: Replaced existing, rotted door/frame/threshold leading from garage to backyard with a new, flush paint-ready fiberglass door, composite frame, composite trim, adjustable threshold, kerf weather sealing, and utilized existing hardware. Did not include disposal (I opted to take care of that myself) or painting (entire house exterior will be painted this summer).

Lee and Lloyd at Washington Door Service were great to work with. They responded promptly to my inquiry about the project, worked with me to find the best option based on my requirements, and gave a rough estimate based on measurements before sending someone out for the final measurements and estimate. The install itself went smoothly, and they even cleaned the glass before they finished. I'm very pleased with the screen doors and I would work with them again!

I have to rave a little bit here about Matt and Washington Door Service. We have a 100+ year old Craftsman house in Seattle and two of the doors have been worrisome from both a security perspective and from a draftiness perspective. Our other doors were fine, but with worsening crime in North Seattle, I wanted to upgrade the locks. Matt came out and assessed everything in a timely manner. From the minute I first encountered him, it was clear that he had a real passion about carpentry, doors, and trying to solve the problems for the customer. He recommended a variety of solutions and worked with us as we nailed down the proposal. One of the challenges that he took on was that our house was recently repainted - inside and out - and he was able to arrange to have the new doors pre-painted to match. His recommendations on locking hardware were spot-on, and the quality of the workmanship was among the best I've ever seen. He was in in the morning - exactly on time - and done by the end of the day with nary a mess to meet the eye. He was even available by cell phone to help us figure out where to get new keys made for the specialty locks. And the repair job he did on the antique hardware on one of our locks was fantastic. Hopefully we'll not need his services again, but certainly if I ever needed anything to do with doors in the future, he'd be my first call without a moment's hesitation.

The response to my initial inquiry was quick, and an estimate provided. The company made it clear to me at the time that the they had a lot of work in hand and that I would have to wait a few weeks to get the work done. Once I had accepted the bid the materials were procured - for which I paid in advance - and I was then given a date, which the company met. The individual who did the work was friendly, courteous and very professional, and made sure I was satisfied with the work done. He even made a few minor adjustments to the doors and their locks to ensure that the doors opened and closed well, not just on those he had come to work on, but another door too, at no additional charge. Just over a week later, after a period of heavy rain, he contacted to see if the work had been effective and the problem solved - it had. I am pleased with the work that has been done, and remain very impressed by the professionalism of the company. I have no hesitation in recommending them.

Several years ago, I did a marginally competent job replacing the folding doors to my pantry. As they began to fail, I called Washington Door Service who had done a fine job previously replacing my front door. I was fully prepared to replace my handiwork. Matt, however, felt they were of high quality and worth repairing. So he reseated the tracks and fixed them instead. Continue to be delighted with this fine company.

Lloyd was fantastic. We have had at least four different service providers look at our front door and back door, all of which had settled and were misaligned. Every provider told us the doors could not be fixed and needed to be replaced, and then gave us bids for replacement. Lloyd looked at both sets of doors and said within 5 minutes he could fix them, and within the next two hours they were! The doors open and close smoothly, all air gaps are gone and we feel safe and secure again. Most importantly, we saved thousands of dollars by not having to replace them.

I was selling my condo and needed to repair my bathroom door in order to pass inspection. The hinges needed to be adjusted so the door would not swing shut when closed. It was hard finding a handyman who could repair this or even return a call. This job was way too small for Washington Door Service who handle much bigger jobs, but the owner was super nice and agreed to stop by when they were in the neighborhood to fix it. It took less than 10 minutes to fix, but they got the job done and gave me a deal on their rate since it was less than an hour's worth of work.

Great. This project was complete within 24 hours of the consultation. The previous projects were also done promptly and efficiently. These guys are really top notch. Very professional and knowledgeable. And very enthusiastic about their work. They clearly love what they do and want to do excellent work. They do not leave loose ends, do not waste time, and go the extra mile. For instance, our installer fixed a hole we discovered after removing the old door. He just fixed it right then and there, no charge. And while waiting for the paint to dry, he pulled out some stain and took care of a few dings and uglies on our front door! I heartily endorse this company.

First, it was hard to find a company that could do this work. I had a couple of people look at it and they said that we really needed a pro. I found Washington Door on Angie's List. They are AMAZINGLY responsive and professional. They evaluated our damage first using photos I sent via email, then drove the 40+ miles to assess in person. They gave us three options, and were very patience for weeks while we tried to make up our minds. Finally we did, and they scheduled the service within days of the door order being received. They showed up right on time and were neat, clean, polite and efficient. We did have a small issue, the day after the work was done we had a major rain storm and water came in under one of the doors. I emailed Lloyd on a Saturday morning and he responded within an hour. They sent someone up first thing Monday morning, isolated the problem and corrected it. Our doors open and close flawlessly, look great and we're very happy. Washington Door does good work and super customer service to boot. It was a pleasure doing business with them.

Installation of the front door went reasonably well. My new door looks great, though the trim around it is now not long enough and doesn't reach the floor. Lloyd was very helpful in recommending doors that would look nice and hold up to the weather, and I'm happy with that part. I'm also glad that after installing the front door, they doublechecked before re-installing the storm door, which didn't look good with the new door, and wasn't providing a ton of benefit, anyway. I don't believe that adjusting the alignment of the door leading into the garage happened, despite being included on the original estimate. I didn't push this while they were here working, because the work had been stressful for other reasons, but I wish that I wouldn't have had to. I had purchased Mul-T-Lock locks for my doors. I was in email contact with them about this, specifically, before they came out to install everything. When he got here, the installer was unfamiliar with the locks, spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out how they worked and how they needed to be installed (including me having to drive to the lock store to get something changed, which I believe should have been possible without that trip - the installer just didn't know how), and ended up installing both of them incorrectly. I emailed and had them come back out to try to fix it, which resulted in the front door lock being correctly installed, and the garage lock not being installed at all, because they needed some spacer pieces (which was partially my fault, for not ordering them in the first place), and because they'd cut down some of the other pieces so they were now too short to work once the spacer pieces were installed. I finally ended up having the people who sold me the locks come out to install them. I wish that Washington Door Service would have told me up-front that they didn't know how to install the locks in question, and/or would have read the instructions before modifying pieces to try to make them work, when they weren't going to anyway. When the person from the lock place came out to install my locks, he informed me that the lever-handles on both doors were also installed upside-down. That piece of the work was, overall, quite disappointing. The hinge pocket repair went fine. I also felt uncomfortable with the level of additional sales the installer was trying to do when he came to do the installation. He started talking about window trim and windows and a bunch of other stuff. In general, I'd rather have contractors do the work I asked them to do and be pretty minimal about what else they suggest needs to be done, because of course my house can always have more done to it - and I don't have the money or energy to do everything immediately. In particular, though, it felt confusing and frustrating to have a sales pitch about other work they could do after I'd spent so much time that day dealing with the problem where they didn't have knowledge about the locks I needed installed. (Note: I originally filed this review over the phone, and later updated it online to include more detail. The provider response on February 8th was to the previous iteration of this review. I don't believe any of the content has significantly changed, but I should say that the response addresses a different version of this than is currently displaying.)
