Tuxedo Turf & Tree

I’ve used hem for years (over 10) on a twice monthly schedule. For the past few years they’ve been coming less frequently. I asked once and they came the next day, but now it’s been over six weeks! And they’ve said they don’t have anyone to come soon.

It goes well every year. They always check in about February to see if I want them to start up again. I don't know when they are coming but it is about twice monthly, which is what I want. I have asked for bids a couple of times over the last few years, for pruning or other services but find that part expensive when I get competitive bids , so I have not used them for that. I imagine they are very good at those services as well.

They're good. They're very reasonably priced. They worked as it was scheduled for lawn mow. They come out every couple of weeks. What I liked about them is that I'm always changing the schedule depending on the time of the year. Sometimes I leave a message and they come right on it. Sometimes if we are on a schedule and my lawn doesn't need to be mown then they wait a little bit longer. They were very thorough. I never see them but when I talked to them on the phone, they were professional. Yes, I've seen them for a while. I will continue using them.

They were efficient and they got the work done pretty quick. They cleaned up really well and we had some overgrowth so we paid $200.

We have a moderate-sized front and back lawn, which due to a bad back and frequent travel schedule, I just wasn't able to keep up with. When the mower finally died, I said 'good riddance,' and called Tuxedo Turf and Tree. Everyone I spoke with on the phone and in person (when coming out to give the free estimate) was wonderful - professional, sincere, and very easy to talk to. The quoted rate for bi-weekly mowing was very reasonable, and of good value. For price, quality, and responsiveness, they deserve very high marks. While we're ending our service with them (unrelated to their performance), I'd definitely recommend them to friends and neighbors - with the following caveats: Punctuality I rate them as and quot;N/A,and quot; because with the ongoing service, there was really no way of knowing when they would show up. Normally this isn't a problem, but it's good to be aware of, going in. Professionalism In their haste to get in, mow the lawn, clean up, and get out, they would often move lawn furniture in order to do their work. The trouble is not so much that they didn't replace the furniture to its place, but rather the fact that they appeared to toss it with little disregard for other peoples' property. To be clear, nothing was damaged, and so we never complained. However, it is strange to come home to find your lawn mowed (yay), but table/chairs all over the place, facing every which way (boo). Not a huge deal, but since you can't predict what day/time they'll come, it's not as though I can move the furniture out of the way for them.

They arrived on time, gave thorough estimate and worked hard to clean up our landscaping, prune and shape trees, spread mulch and fertilize our grass.

These people arrive on time, work hard, are incredibly polite and have great communication skills.

Matt Bennett is in charge when they come to my house. ("They" is Matt plus and assistant.) They work quickly and very well. Matt is well versed in pruning and plants. He is very helpful and good to work with. $60 an hour "hurts" but I get good work from them. Matt is willing to work when and if you want him. With me, He calls towards the end of the month. Often on the day he has an hour or so left. No previous warning, but I'm free to say "no" and set up another time. I work with them, starting with a list of things that need to be done and Matt chooses what he will do and what his helper will do and they get at it. He's intelligent and knowledgeable about plants and very pleasant to work with.

They do what they say they are going to do. They do a good job with yard clean up. They are very cheap for lawn mowing and always are the lowest bid. They are very honest.

They come when they say they're going to come. They do a really good job. They're really fast. The price for grass cutting is fantastic. I like the company, the efficiency, and the results of their work. I will continue to use them in the future.

First we discussed size of the beds and where they should be. I got diminisions from the raised beds at the Magnusson pea patch. Mat bought the lumber and dirt and did the carpentry. Todd did the hauling of the 4x6s and the wheelbarrows of dirt from the street to the backyard. It took four hours of hard work. And they cleaned everything up before they left. I give them an outstanding on this project. They also come about once a month to weed and prune and do general yard work. I have a list ready of what needs doing and they get it done. They've pruned the fruit trees and the big evergreens. The yard looks better under their care.

How many times do I need to do the same report? Your format doesn't really accommodate something like this that is an ongoing service since it allows only numbers in the cost--is this for one time,? Per month? Per year??

We first contacted them at the beginning of May; they gave us an estimate and said it would be about 3-4 weeks before they could get to it, though there was a possibility of fitting it in earlier if a big job nearby finished ahead of schedule. It actually took 7 weeks before they got to the job, by which time things were quite a bit more overgrown than they had been at the beginning. The job took about 7 hours for two people, and $60/person-hour seems high for yard maintenance (though I'd expect that if I were having extensive landscaping done, this really wasn't.) This said, they did what they said they would, they gave me an estimate in advance I agreed to, and they communicated with me after 4 weeks to let me know it would be another week or two, so this was still an overall satisfactory experience. The people working on my yard were knowledgeable, easy to communicate with, and clearly care about gardening and landscaping. I wouldn't rule out using them in the future, though I'll probably bid out future work to some other companies first.

They schedule ahead of time. They do almost the whole neighborhood. They are very reasonable. We bought this house in 2008 and we didn't mow the lawn and it had a lot of problems. We asked that someone come out and teach us what was needed. A man named Scott came out. He was extremely knowledgeable. He knew what he was talking about. He told us we could do it ourselves. He gave us the equivalent pricing if we went and bought the supplies ourselves. He was very helpful and there was no hard sell. When I call and need extra weeding at the duplex, they find ways to squeeze it into their schedule during their busy times. The crews that they send out are some of the most hardworking people I have ever seen. They usually send out two people. One does the mowing and one does the weed whacking. They work like musicians in harmony. They come in and they are done before you even know they are there. They are great. They have got it down to a real art. We got them from our next door neighbors. They do a great job in keeping our neighborhood happy. They probably go to my vacant property every two weeks. The prices vary. This house front and back is $28.00 per visit. We haven't done it for a while. They charge $45.00 per visit for the other house which does not have too much yard and the vacant plot. I have seen them coming in pouring down rain and do what they could. They have got the right equipment to do the lawns. They have always been very responsive to me. They have overlooked some things. Everybody does that. If they ever ask me, I will tell them but it is not something I will pick up the phone and tell them because overall they do so well.

I spend $26 on each visit. They are fast and do a good job.

I found them on Angie's list and they are highly rated. I hired them because of their ratings and listing. What they've done so far has been fine. The owner once told me that he's got more business than he can really handle so sometimes they are a little delayed in getting to you. They are very dependable and if they are going to be late they call and let you know. Their work is excellent and they really know what they are doing. I think their price is pretty reasonable for the size of the lawn I got.

For lawn maintenance, they've come to provide service, and billed, exactly as agreed. No problems there. My young son once had, without my knowledge, tossed a number of largish rocks into the grass. My invoices since have had a little note that requests we please not do that. :-) For landscaping, they've come twice do sections of the overall 'plan' a bit at a time (not quite such a large hit to the budget as doing it all at once). They've replicated my printouts in reality quite well -- they just refer to my drawings and make it so. We had one major glitch: the new sod died off despite following the watering and care instructions we were given. They checked the source to see if there were other known issues (no), debated whether something might be off in our soil (since we were moving it "down" about six or eight inches), and then they decided to rip out the dead sod and try again with pre-germinated seed. They re-worked the soil mix and planted the grass, then covered it with plastic (it was December!) while they were out on the next phase of this longrunning project. They didn't charge for this extra work. He's come out a few times on his time to suggest what we can do now ourselves (time to add lime! Time to fertilize! cover this with peat moss! Oh, and add moss killer over there!). It's now March and the grass is finally looking like it's going to do well. It's not perfect yet, but they've really done everything possible given the winter season to get it going for us. Seems they do stand behind what they do. I can't wait to finish the other sections of the yard and someday move on to the front, and these are the guys I plan to call for any work I can't do myself -- which (honestly) is most of it!

Excellent. They are FAST! They do a beautiful job, and always show up on time. Their mowers are courteous, respectful of our property, and willing to accommodate special requests. When I asked them to change the pattern of their mow each time they came, they did. They also always called me back within 24 hours, and always took care of my needs immediately, such as a change in schedule, or a question on a bill. The price beat anything else I saw out there. Awesome team.

Tuxedo Turf and Tree did an exceptional job. their quality of work is exceptional, from "normal" maintenance to treating unique and high value plants and trees.

Scott show up promptly and gave me a very reasonable estimate. They did an excellent clean up job. They now cut the grass and edge there bimonthly. I have since hired them for another piece of property with the same results.

We have used this company several times before and each time have been very pleased with the results. What we like most about this company is that the crew will prune aggressively -- as long as the health of the tree is not jeopardized. Also, their price is reasonable!

Good. They do a good - not quite great - overall job for a reasonable price, and they are fast. It would be great if they did more work at the edges (between lawn and hedges, between lawn and fences, between lawn and bed containing ground cover). They skirt the edges and so stuff (weeds, ground covering) are advancing, whereas when I mowed myself, I would mow those edges down to keep those things from advancing.

When I called Scott arranged to come and give an estimate within a couple ofdays. This was earlier in the winter - before Christmas. Then it got cold, so I delayed the work until February. Then, more than once, I changed my mind about some of the plants and locations. Scott worked with me to educate me about what new plants and what transplant locations would work best for the plants in my very shady yard. Although Scott is never in a rush, the work crew finished quickly. Months have passed and I am very pleased that the Oregon grape which has a very difficult-to-remove root system is GONE! The new and transplanted plants are all doing beautifully. The final bill was $100 less than the estimate. I think this is because the work crew is so efficient. This is the fourth job they have done for me; and everyone has been excellent.

He was gracious, cheerful, pleasant, nice and came on time. His pricing was reasonable and did a good job. I had a good experience with him and I would hire him again.
