I read other reviews on AL and found that this company took the time to solve complicated window treatments and customers were satisfied. I had just replaced an old corner storm picture window with wooden windows. The large window faces east and has 3 awning windows across the top, the smaller window which faces south is a casement window. All of the windows have cranking handles that fold down but they still protrude from the wood framing. The windows meeting at the corner was a problem, there was not enough room for the shades to meet (at the corner) without having to offset the installation and it would not be pleasing to the eye. After tossing around ideas I took her suggestion to leave the south window uncovered as privacy was not a concern and the sunlight didn't matter as much from that direction. After the shades were installed I was very happy with there appearance and with my experience with Jennifer and Zack. Window covers are not inexpensive.
Description of Work: Jennifer came out listened to my concerns; I didn't want to cover much of the window as I wanted the woodwork to show, but I needed sun protection. She showed me natural reed/grass shades and I decided this is what I wanted. A choice was made, an order was placed. Upon the shades arrival Zack her husband came out to install. There were a few glitches but all were addressed and the shades were up. I also had 2 other small windows covered with the same shades, so in all I had 4 windows covered. I think Jennifer's visit took about an hour.

I wanted privacy, but to show off the leaded glass on the upper parts of the windows. I also wanted to let as much light in as possible. Jennifer showed up with all kinds of samples and ideas and photos. Her ideas were better than mine. She came up with a fine reed-like shade. The color worked awesome with the interior, and she backed the shades with a color to match the exterior trim. How cool is that? The blinds roll up from the sill and look gorgeous, letting in the light, showing off the 1902 leaded glass. Jennifer & Zach followed up with an extra visit to make sure I was happy and they be sure all the mechanisms were properly working. $300 per blind seemed pricey at the time, but my house is worth it, and so is The Well Dressed Window.
Description of Work: Two roll-up tweed-like shades custom made and installed in my turn-of-the-century Seattle home.
