TED'S CHIMNEY SERVICE

The small chimney here needed some repair work, re-pointing and especially a new crown. We had used Ted's Chimney Service in the past, and just as before, they were prompt and did a great job. A small amount of flashing work remains because a new roof is expected sometime soon, but overall, we couldn't be happier.

The job went very well. Ted's family team was very punctual and communicative for scheduling the estimate and again when the work was being done. The chimney was pressure washed first and then all flashings were replaced, a number of bricks refaced and the chimney grouted. The crown was repaired and "Rain away Chimney Systems" was installed. Once completed the team did an excellent job of cleaning the work debris and roof surfaces around the work areas.

Everyone was pleasant and worked hard.

Ted came out and provided an estimate within a week. The work happened within the following 2 weeks, and then follow-up work a couple of weeks after that. Work was efficient and well-done.

It went great! Ted and Lee came when it was pouring and put a tarp around my 40+ year old chimney. Ted ordered a new cap. When the cap arrived and the weather co-operated (10 days), the crew came and pressured washed the chimney's exterior, cut out and grouted new mortar into the joints, installed new counter flashing and installed a stainless steel full cover chimney cap. That needed to be done in two installments for the interior of the chimney needed more drying time...another 4 days. No problem, for there was no more leaking!! Was a pleasure to deal with Ted and company. They were pleasant, courteous, helpful, and informative. Will be out again when the rain stops and it warms up to apply a water repellent . Ted showed up the afternoon we called him and gave us an estimate on the spot. He said he felt our situation needed prompt attention and started work the next day. We are really impressed with the work that was done. I would recommend Ted's Chimney Service to anyone.

This service was fantastic even by Angie's List standards! I called Ted, he was here by the end of the day, the crew arrived the next morning and did excellent work.

We called and Ted showed up the very next day and gave us an estimate. You could tell He really knew his business and within a week his team of professionals came out and did an amazing job. It looks like a brand new chimney. He even came out a couple of days later in his 1929 ford to give me the invoice because he knew I liked cars. I would definitely recommend Ted. It went really well. He actually lowered the service fee after finding out that we don't need to replace the entire joints.

I waited a year to submit this review to ensure I would not have any leaks during the rainy season. Their was no leaks.. All the work was done in March of 2016. Before I even hired Ted, He came out and spent about 30 minutes to help me locate the leak. Once it was determined, Ted recommended crown repair with overcoat and rain away chimney system. He finished the job in 1 day and came back a few days later for followup work. He explained it was probably the crumbling chimney fume and the flat shape of the crown as the culprit. Quality work. Recommend

I didn't even get a bid on the job

Really unprofessional exchange with Ted over the phone this morning. Didn't state his name or business upon answering the phone, was incredibly impatient and pushy as to why I was calling, "Well yeah, but what do you want...?" I have flashing, cap and other chimney work that our inspector identified during the home buying process. I'll be taking it to a company that seems interested in the business. What an absolute joke.....

Ted was easy to work with, professional, and straight forward. Our initial conversation was over email and we sent him pictures of the work that needed to be done. Upon receiving our message, he requested that we have a phone conversation and set up a time to actually see the work so that he could provide an accurate estimate, which we appreciated. The price he quoted us seemed to be a fair price for the work as we did shop around. He gave us a detailed list of the services he was going to provide. Once we decided to move forward with his services, he showed up when he said he would and the total work time took about a week as the mortar needed time to cure before he could seal it. We were pleased with the finished product. It looked great. We would definitely use Ted's services again.

Having reached the age when it's unsafe for me to go trotting around my roof, my son told me that some of the bricks in my fireplace chimney were crumbling and that water was leaking into the house. He helped me find Ted through Angie's list, and I was pleased with his choice. Although I don't know much about chimney repairs, the final product looks good. Ted has assured me that he'll come back if there are ever any problems. I enjoyed having Ted and his friendly crew working at my home.

From past experience, we knew Ted and his daughter would complete everything in a timely manner. He doesn't come and do everything on one day - he gives things time to fully dry, cure, or whatever is needed. They were here 3 days as they completed the things on the above list. (On a previous house with more work to be done, he completed the job over the course of a week since it was weather dependent). He always checks back after a while to make sure things are done and if there are any problems, you can call him and he will be there within a day to remedy the situation. Just FYI - we were under contract with another house this summer and I called Ted to see if he would look at the "wonky" chimney on the place to see how much it would cost to repair. He came over, checked out the chimney gratis (he does free estimates), and then let me know there were some problems with the roof that I would want to have checked out before we went any further on the deal. I took his advice, had a roofer come, and ended up finding that the whole roof was compromised. He saved me from a very expensive mistake. We feel really lucky that we hired Ted to repair a leaking chimney on our first house - he's one of those old fashioned guys who truly takes pride in his work. He may not be the cheapest bid you will get, but he WILL be the best.

Chimney needed repair, insert needed checking. Ted checked the insert and chimney, pointing, provided a Crown Coat sealer top with a fifteen year guarantee. Great work! One day, in and out. Ted came out quickly to fix a leak in our chimney. He diagnosed the problem and made a temporary fix to stop the leak and then returned in nicer weather to complete the job. Ted was very thorough and even helped repair a general drainage issue that had contributed to our leak in the first place. The price he quoted was what we paid and it was less than other's quoted for less work. Ted was a pleasure to work with and we will call him again if we have future needs. .

Ted got right to my job. He and his assistant were punctual and efficient. They weren't able to finish the job the first day because of the weather. His assistant came back on the weekend when the weather finally permitted to finish the job.

All went smoothly and was done quickly, neatly and carefully. Ted knows what he is doing , is very honest and pleasant to work with.
