From start to finish, we were impressed. They communicated well, delivered on time, and with high quality. I couldn’t recommend them more — it was a hassle free experience.

Synapse did a beautiful job. Kyle helped us with the original design, made excellent suggestions. The job took longer than expected, but that was due to the fact that the original builder had cut corners in construction. Kyle's team identified defects in the original construction, fixed them during the build and the result was fantastic. The only "glitch" was that since our job took longer than planned due to defect correction (viz. the defects were from the original construction.) in the end the team was a bit short staffed and time to finish the last bits took longer than expected.

Overall my experience with Synapse has been very positive. The highlight is the work itself. The small bumps along the way had to do with administration/communication frustrations, but in general I found the team extremely professional and committed to quality work. I appreciated Kyle the very first time he came to look at the house, when he encouraged me to keep my old growth cedar shingles, explaining that I needed paint but not new siding. I hired Synapse to do some spot repairs. Unfortunately, an hour into the job, it was like a cliché of house construction—they found an unexpected second layer of siding under the shingles, and said they could no longer do the partial repairs without removing everything. So, with the siding gone from one side of my house, I had to decide whether to have the entire thing re-sided after all. The project almost tripled in price and number of weeks. Now, you always wonder when there’s a major switch like this, but I have no reason to mistrust them. Once I realized they were removing the old siding, it occurred to me it was a great opportunity to do earthquake retrofitting. Synapse worked with me to add in shear panels. I have nothing but good things to say about the crew itself. The foreman, Darren, was fabulous. He was careful, attentive to detail, reliable, thorough, and a pleasure to work with. Whenever he found something unexpected, or if there were a decision to make, he contacted me. Sometimes I heard him coaching a new guy in training, and he was a great teacher—overseeing everything, precise, kind. It’s clear Synapse takes care with hiring— I found the rest of the crew also knowledgeable and conscientious as well, a pleasure to have around. Aside from the somewhat shocking expansion of the job, my only less than glowing remarks have to do with communication with the office. There were times in the beginning as I was needing to make decisions that it was hard to get Kyle on the phone. I found the billing system extremely confusing—since there were so many change orders the invoices were especially hard to track. There were some little scheduling changes on the front and back end. From everything I’ve heard about contractors, however, this is normal, or much better than normal, and my experience was far better than most. The final thing to note is that their recommendation for a roofer was awful. Completely unprofessional, rude, and did poor work. No idea why they work with them, and I hope they have found a better company. It was completely out of sync with everything else I experienced from Synapse. In sum, I highly recommend Synapse. I believe they do quality work, hire a very well trained and professional staff, and are good people. It’s only been a few months, but so far everything looks great.

It was great. Coordinated with all different subcontractors. Really easy to work with. They did the design with and did all the permitting and worked with the city.

They came in at or under their bid. The pricing was competitive. They finished the work on time.

I called Synapse Construction, who took over to fix both of my townhomes problems. The services were a long process and they did a marvelous job. They provided excellent quality. The owner Kyle, also recommended a mold remediation company to me.

It was great to work with Synapse. They gave reasonable estimates for both timeline and price, and are very communicative. Even after most of the work was done, the site lead stops by regularly to make sure that lingering parts are being tracked and scheduled, and that we know when the remaining work will be addressed. All crew members on site were friendly and respectful, and made sure that any questions we had were answered. When it comes to large projects like this, it's when things go unexpectedly that you see a company's true colors. We encountered several issues with our gutter installation, for instance, and reported them to our site lead. Synapse looked at the problem, immediately held the gutter subcontractor responsible, and scheduled a follow up date for the fix. When the subcontractor again delivered disappointing results, they immediately found an alternative company to correctly install the gutters, and made sure that we were happy with the end results. When we discovered a last minute structural change, they made time to help us fix the issue, understanding that getting the project done correctly was more important than wrapping up the project as soon as possible. There were few surprises throughout the process, and when we ran into them, Synapse was more than helpful to provide guidance on how to address the issues. I would definitely hire them again.

I have dealt with a number of contractors and subcontractors; Synapse has proven to be among the best! Kyle Keever (company president) thoroughly explained the job, provided a detailed bid, and personally oversaw the project from beginning to end. During this process he offered design consultation, exhibited a great knowledge of the siding product I had chosen, and suggested cost savings options for my consideration. Synapse workers were always punctual (not a given in the building trades) and the quality of the work was masterful. I could not be more pleased: completed as bid on a difficult site, workmanship outstanding, and great people with which to work.

This was the best contractor experience we have, in the 35 years we've owned this house. Kyle Keever, company principal, is a true professional. - Vitaly, who did nearly all the work, was easy to work with and very detail-oriented. - Kyle came up with good new solution to soffit venting; one that we had not considered previously. - We appreciated the attention to daily clean-up and care taken to avoid inconveniencing neighbors. - Overall, they did a good job listening and communicating. Just the right amount of "asking questions" vs. "going ahead and making decisions based on their best judgement". - And, they honored their price, even when things took longer than expected.
