+ 0 moreJason Pham - every referral I called, from so many different homes - all Swedish H scheduled to come back to do more work for them. He has pride of ownership is extremely professional and honest. He even had my fiance and I come to his house to see work he had done in his home. His team arrived promptly, gave me proper instructions on how to care for my floor and this time around - when I came home, my eyes and throat did not burn for days. As we add onto our house, Swedish Hardwoods are the only hardwood company that we would use or recommend. Also, I checked him out on the Washington State Contractors list, being smart this time - he is fully licensed, bonded and no complaints pending. He really was a knight in shining armour -
Description of Work: Wow! My floors are beautiful. Swedish Hardwoods came in and made corrections, repairs, replacements and redid the entire hardwood floors job of another contractor that did a botch job. The day I called him, within hours he was at my house, knowing that I was in full distress and so overwhelmed by bad work from another contractor. He was prepared with wood swatches, stain swatches, his portfolio book, references and immediatley made a list of things he would get accomplished. He let me pick and choose client jobs he had recently done, so I could call as many as I wished, so that I would be assured that I was in good hands. This time when I came home, instead of a botched job, I had beautiful floors and all the contractors coming through (we are getting ready for a new addition) are excited for me - they know that Swedish really pulled through for me. They could not complete all the corrections, without rippining out every piece of hardwood floor - but I am happy! I plan to post pictures of my place on his website, once we get the floor base up. This company really deserves the business - they really did great work!

+ -1 moreThis is the third time I've hired Jason for my two houses, first time for hardwood floor installation and finish on the main house, second time for my rental house refinish and this time for small attic area hardwood floor installation. Every time I call, he responds within 24hours or less and comes for estimate within a week. His price has always been excellent compared to the others and he provides quality service. This time around for the attic installation, his initial estimate was higher than expected. After talking to him, he agreed to offer me the service with the amount handyman would install because I was a returning customer. I appreciate his understanding of customer's point of view. For all three times, my husband and I are extremely happy with his work.

+ 0 moreAwful!! In August, Jason installed new red oak floor over a sizable bump in the old subfloor, so that the bump was still noticeable afterwards. While he alerted us to the bump beforehand, he didn't inform us of possible consequences afterwards, i.e., that the bump would be noticeable and irreparable. Later, in September, when it came time for him to sand, buff and polish the floor, I fired Jason on the spot after he insisted that the bump was my sub-contractor's responsibility, and not his, and that he could not fix the bump. Then, the next month, he put a lien on my house, demanding payment for the balance of $1,900 (excluding the down payment of $1,000), although he performed no services in September. I'm working with my lawyer to deal with this lien. My lawyer suspects Jason turns to liens because they are easy to create, and because Jason may have had success in the past in using liens to force payment.
Description of Work: Install new red oak floor over new subfloor in new room. Sand, buff and polish floor to match red oak floor in adjacent room.
