On time and budget, fine work

Hired them to do a "seismic retrofit" on our 100+ yo home. Core work was attaching sill to foundation and associated clips. The price was excellent, as was the work. James gave clear descriptions of the project and they were followed to a t! He also did some strengthening of the pier to post attachments and other useful touch-ups while he was in the crawlspace, which was a nice addition. I solidly recommend them for this works; they know what they are doing and do it well.

An excellent experience, start to finish. Superb work finished on-time and on budget. Great care taken to protect items in the basement-covered with thick plastic sheeting-and clean up after the job was finished was perfect. James communicated with me about every step taken so that I understood the process. I very highly recommend this company and am extremely pleased with the results.

Very happy with their craftsmanship. Straight edges, hidden seems, smooth surface and tight transitions even in the challenging areas (that this homeowner conveniently createdâ ¦) and, due to slight settling, they came back and repaired the only two small cracks that appeared along a seem, and at no charge.

James Ewing and his team at Stronghome Seismic did seismic reinforcing (for earthquake protection) on my large house -- bolting the wood frame to the foundation and bracing the lower level of the wood frame construction to add shear strength to the house. Their bid came in much lower than the other estimates I received. James communicated well throughout the job, having to coordinate and work around another company doing siding replacement. James was upfront with me and showed me all the bracing and bolting (to the foundation) work that he and his crew performed. I believe they did a high-quality job and I was very pleased with the work they did. The work passed inspection easily, and the sheetrock repair that needed to be done following the seismic bracing work was done to a very high standard. I couldn't be more pleased with the work Stronghome Seismic performed on my house, and I strongly recommend them to anyone having this work done on their home. James was very responsive and professional, and he was pleasant to work with..

Highly recommend for seismic retrofit. James is great to work with, professional, great communicator, & completely transparent. Couldn't be more satisifed with our experience retrofitting our newly purchased Bellevue home. Got us on his schedule within about a month. Beware lower price quotes from other "Big Box" seismic contractors. They often have hidden/optional costs that they are not transparent about, while James' quote is fully transparent, firm and ultimately right on par with other companies final costs. Another plus, because it's a smaller buisness, James was on site "getting his hands dirty" everyday. Give James your business, you won't be disappointed. SCB, Somerset/Bellevue.

I really love working with contractors like James and Stronghome Seismic. He made sure I understood exactly what they would be doing and why. He worked with me, so that I could do pest control around his work. His bid was clear and he made sure I understood what was included and what would be extra. As soon as he ran into something that needed to be addressed, he went over it with me. He did end up having to do a lot of extra framing, which was outside his bid. The amount he charged for the extra work was very reasonable and kept it under the cost of the other bid we received. My favorite part is that he included insulating our basement for only the cost of materials. I would highly recommend this company!

A competitive bid for a project made darn near enjoyable, largely due to James' excellent communication skills throughout. We work from home and this is a sometimes noisy endeavor. Stronghome Seismic did an excellent job reinforcing my home. I would recommend them to anybody. I worked exclusively with James, the co-owner. I found him to be very responsive, courteous and professional through the entire process. He responded immediately to my request for a proposal and estimate. His estimate was very reasonable and competitive. All work to drill and install the anchors in the garage and under the house in the crawl space was completed in accordance with plans prepared by a registered engineer. The work included installation of an automatic shutoff on our natural gas line coming into the house, performed by a licensed subcontractor. All work was completed on time.
