We had our 1927 brick-facade home retrofitted by Stronghome Seismic. Our basement was finished and so this project involved cutting existing wood panel to access the foundation and frame, the actual retrofit itself, and the installation of drywall over the new retrofit. I particularly appreciated his walkthrough showing how the house was retrofitted before the drywall was put back up. The drywall itself looks great, as does the finish trim he installed. All the work, including clean-up was done in 11 business days. James and his crew were great at communication, which was important because we have animals that we needed to make sure were out of the access yard. We are very satisfied and highly recommend Sound Seismic.

the work done was seismic retrofit on a 1929 home. This is normally more strait forward but did involve some very prompt ,impressive, solutions to problems that arose. It was a very good experience from start to finish. The sheet rock repair was amazing Josh is a young master. James was not the sort who was seldom seen or disappeared after the contract was signed. He was either here working or aware of exactly what was being done

I had put out a request via HomeAdvisor for drywall installation for our new home in Gig Harbor. I was surprised when StrongHome Seismic contacted me with interest in our project. After all, “drywall” is nowhere in their name. After meeting the owner, James, who came to evaluate the scope of work, I was impressed with his professionalism and demeanor. I soon realized that he had pursued this project because drywall finishing is an integral part of the completion of nearly every seismic retrofit project; he was expanding what his business would be offering. I took the chance and am quite pleased that we did. StrongHome Seismic was professional, punctual, followed through and did everything we asked them to do.

Stronghome Seismic does earthquake retrofits of existing structures, in this case my home, which was built in 1965. The project was designed by a licensed engineer working as a consultant for the company, and permitted by the city. Metal hardware reinforcements were installed in our garage, den, and crawl space to strengthen support beams and tie the house via the sill plate to the poured concrete foundation. The project required cutting into some drywall and then patching it. A "cripple wall" in the garage was also reinforced with plywood sheets. The owner of the company was very responsive and kept us up to date on progress. The crew of two were on time, efficient, capable, courteous, and tidy. The project was completed in about four days. Stronghome responded quicker to my inquiry than the big companies, they were less expensive, and they could start sooner too. I can recommend them without reservation.

I hired Stronghome Seismic to earthquake retrofit my 2440 sqft home. I had hired Stronghome after having met James, receiving a thorough review of the work they would perform (from James), seeing the the good reviews of their work, and after they had provided me the lowest estimate for the work. I am happy I had! James and his crew worked quickly and worked with last minute date changes I presented due to others working on the site. In addition to this, the house was built in 1931 and had multiple characteristics that required additional consideration and feedback from the engineer. James made sure to work with them to find effective solutions given the circumstances. James and his team did a great job in doing a full seismic retrofit on our 1946 home. He kept us constantly informed on what he was doing each day and how the project was moving along. Both inspections (one for the bolting the other for the stabilization) went through without a hitch. There were some unanticipated glitches along the way due to work being done by another contractor, but he successfully fought his way through all impediments and finished the work in a timely fashion.

James was responsive and professional. He went above and beyond what the engineer required, installing extra plates in difficult to access locations. He screened off the basement with plastic to limit the spread of cement dust and cleaned up the work area completely. We highly recommend Stronghome Seismic.

We are very happy to have hired Stronghome for an earthquake retrofit on our 1948 home. Jamesâ s communication skills are strong and he kept us in loop from quote to the finish of the project. He answered all our questions and was able to give guidance on other home projects. We had a minor issue with inspection being delayed by the city but James followed up with the inspection officers and made sure our project was completed on time. James is very thorough with making sure your home is put back to the way it was found and even replaced some small items for no extra charge. We are confident in the work he did for our home and would recommend James to friends and family.

James offered us the best bid for our earthquake retrofit and he did super high quality work. More importantly, he is a great communicator and extremely flexible. Our daughter is autistic and has been having trouble sleeping. Since the work can be quite noisy, James was amazing at adapting the timeline to let us give her more time to sleep some mornings. Aside from that, he was also extremely detail oriented and left our house looking almost exactly as it did before. Stronghome was terrific for our EarthQuake retrofit. They were able to complete the work within 2 weeks of the initial quote. They kept us in close communication throughout the process. Everything seemed very thorough and by the book. When there was some minor unexpected wood rot, they replaced that too free of charge. The quote/final cost was about 20% less than other quotes we received. We would recommend to our friends and family.

Stronghome Seismic did an exceptional job for us. We have a home that was built in 1952, which means that the house was never bolted to the foundation. We interviewed 2 firms, and decided to go with James and Stronghome. While the firm is relatively new, James has done more than 200 refits. Explained the process, did the permitting, and gave us a reasonable price, which included an automatic gas shutoff valveâ something we hadnâ t considered. The work was done quickly, without any problems. The inspector even told us that heâ d done an excellent job. Weâ re happy to this project off our preparedness list!!
